I'm not saying they have to. I'm just saying those are the kinds of offers Dak would have to be turning down before I consider him unreasonable or unwilling to make a deal.

Well, first it started at 30 mil, then it went to pay him 33, then it was 35 that we needed to pay him, then it was 37 then 40 and now I guess it's 50 or 60.

Well, I guess I'm all out on that. Tag will pay him 31. The year after that, it's like closer to 40 but maybe we can trade him. I'm not about letting anybody hold a knife to my throught, so to speak. I know we can do better then Rush but if we can't, then I guess it's Rush.

Pretty much everything put out there is heresay anyway but you haven't posted anything disputing what I've said. And I highly doubt you will see any reports where the author names their sources. I have not even seen any info of these multiple offers you keep claiming. The only offers I've seen reports of in months were one with about $90 million guaranteed (which later it came out that was before the season started) and the latest was $105 million guaranteed. Not saying there haven't been other offers but I haven't seen those reports.

You seem to be getting the guaranteed money confused with the total contract (or think I am). The total contract on a 7-year deal with $34 million AAV would be $238 million. But only the guaranteed money really counts, which in that offer was $105 million. So basically only 3 years are guaranteed. But then the Cowboys would still have his rights for up to four more years with no guaranteed money. It wouldn't be in Dak's interest to sign a contract like that.
yes and thats is why daks agent isnt responding, they want dak for 7 years at a very cheap rate and only 105 g $.
The problem is jones boys want the long term contract, but they want to be cheap about it too.
I thought a 3 year deal would be best for both sides, and let dak prove himself under MM, and if not they could be done with him in 3 years.

JOnes boys are more to blame for no contract than dak and france.

I will also say this, I predicted they would tag dak , no contract, and I think dak will sign and play.
I think he wants to prove himself this coming season with new HC and staff, and he will be well paid, just has to avoid injuries.
He said once, he played 4 years for less than 4 mil , I can play one for 33 mil.
I think there will be no contract, unless jones boys agree to a short term deal. 3-4 years .

If dak is still hoping for short term deal, and june is the deadline, then he may wait to sign the tag.
either way, he will go to TC and play.

Thought police?!? I just have a different opinion! Why is it so offensive to ask someone why they think the way they do? Aren’t we all Cowboy fans?

We’re all just speculators here, aren’t we? So why do we so often think we’re more qualified than people who do it for a living?
relax.

I’m not “lecturing” others, just voicing my opinion and asking you about yours. Besides, would my “lecture” have ANY affect on you whatsoever?

It wouldn’t or shouldn’t.

Of course not, other than to aggravate me and lead us down this oft-traveled path. So maybe you should think about telling anyone else how they should think in the future?

Daks a nice guy and a hard worker. He's played 4 years as a starter for very little money.

But footballs a cold hard business. No room for sentiment. The front office has decided not to invest in him. If they were close to a deal they wouldnt tag him - no FA who is in the final stages of negotiating a long term deal is going to suddenly abandon those negotiations and start trying out for other teams.

I like Amari and hope he stays, but its possible the front office has decided to move on. As with the Dak decision, maybe MM wants to build his own team with his own players. Again, football is a cold hard business. The 1st round pick spent by a previous coaching staff has little relevence to a decision on whether this staff wants him.

This guy is spot on.

Also Dak is gonna kick Mahomes butt in SB and trash the NFC.

Well I agree there. But if he asks for 40 and they give him 40....what do you call that?
That right there would be mutual agreement. What he sees as self worth may or may not be congruent to what the team deems is his worth. I see your point . I certainly hope its not 40

If I was Dak at this point, I wouldn't exactly be making demands to France, but we'd be having some conversations.

I'm sure Dak's phone has been blowing up with texts from Jerry. Lol.

"Why don't you just come on over to the Star and let's talk mano y mano? You're like my son, Dak. I'll take care of you. Come on over. Hit me back."

why the exclusive tag? How stupidly stubborn is our front office.. we will never win another Superbowl while they own the team. I'm done pretending we can overcome the sheer incompetence.

I had hope after the sacking of garrett but this just shows how delusional they are.

THAT'S why the FO messed this up...………...as much as I like Dak, bidness is bidness. If you give him the Non-Exclusive Tag, you find out EXACTLY what others think of Dak and if you want match that OR get draft compensation. It wasn't as difficult as they've made this.
That wont work, because they want to keep dak, and dont want to have to match offers made by another team.
If some other team made a short term offer say 38 per year for 3 years, then they would have to match it or let him go.
They want dak, just not on a short term contract. They want 6-7 year contract.
So here we are on exclusive tag, which says dak isnt going anywhere.

How do we know this? I don't believe this personally. I believe that in 2018, Dak hired France and CAA. They don't operate that way. What I believe would have happened is that they would have accepted more money in 2018 and 2019 but would not have signed for any longer then 2021/22. This agent has always been about setting this deal up so that they can renegotiate a deal after the CBA and after Mohomboy gets his deal. That was always the plan so basically, we could have paid more to be in exactly the same position.
that is partly true, but it would depend on how well dak played and what the team achieved in those few years.
They might be glad his contract was up, and if he played great or they got to a SB, then give him a better contract.

The long contract at so so pay is all in the favor of the jones boys, the 105 mil g would only cover 3 years, and then they could cut dak if they
wanted, or keep him cheaply. That is a good deal for them, but not dak.
Dak wants a chance at new contract in a few years, and the jones boys dont want to give him that.

Isn't the exclusive tag the only one now
