Great post! Here is another simple truth about Dak.. He has played for virtually peanuts for 4 years with a smile on his face and no one should be blaming him for playing hardball in regards to his contract. The man has earned the right to play the NFL contractual game based on his career so far... Think back to last summer and the Zeke hold out! Half of this forum was crying about Zeke saying we should let him stay in Cabo, but as soon as he was signed the birds stopped chirping...

Bottom line, Dak should be doing everything he can to get what the market can afford to pay him. If he can go to another team and make top dollar why fault him for wanting top dollar to stay with the Cowboys? Sure the payday can hurt the flexibility in regards to building a team around Dak, but we have to remind ourselves that Dak is getting older and has not gotten paid starting QB money yet even though he has earned it. Dak has already been a great soldier, it's time to be a little more forgiving in terms on the villain tag were trying to slap on him.. It's utter nonsense, take that DDS (dak derrangment syndrome) to another forum and don't let the door hit ya... (of course I'm not talking about you, but in general)

So we are all clear here, wasn't the choice to play for "peanuts" his decision? Didn't the team try to restructure him and sign him to an extension early?

LOL... stop reading here, as the lazy troll can't even validate his bizarre statistical claims. This is easily one of the worst Dak-panic posts that's come out since the Dalton signing. LOL.
READING IS FUNDAMENTAL...

Ever heard of projections based on statics acrued over years (maybe 4 seasons:lmao:).

Sophisticated Dak Hater requiring validation for future statical projection :lmao2:.... Isn't that ironic.

I wonder if Skins fans were saying the same thing about Kirk Cousins as he signed his 1st franchise tag tender.
Cousins had won 2 NFL games by this age for Dak.
He was 4 games under .500 for his career with them.
He still got paid a boat load of money.
Last year he beat Drew Brees in the playoffs before losing to The SB bound 49ers.
WAS just drafted top 5 again.

Dak has won 40 games and lost 24..

Weird how this gets this posed by the very people who "wanted Dak to prove it".

The team had to offer enough to the get the deal done. They didn't.
Now they gotta pay the freight on that poor decision after he finished 2nd in the league in passing yards and 4th in passing TDs with a 3 to 1 TD to INT ratio.

Do you have to prove you are stupid every post or do you give your brain a rest sometimes?

Dak was injured and didn't take a single practice snap before the Eagles game versus a very good defense.
Dak had FOUR straight wins over the Eagles spanning 3 season's before that loss.

he won 4 straight??? wow lol

Here's the Thursday before the game.

injury not a concern
have no fear it won't impact his play.
Eagles beleaguered secondary could be in for a long day
no lingering issues

But of course he beats the Rams 'singlehandedly' after getting hurt in the 1st quarter and NOT leaving the game, then he miraculously recovers in time to beat up on the Commanders. What a trooper!!

So many threads with wasted energy going around and round when none of that matters.

There are basic truths fans will simply have to come to grips with.

Dak Prescott will likely not earn less than 30M per year(AAV) at any point over the next 8 or 9 seasons. --as a side note Gary Myers was in Dallas before NY and his take was simply false and silly but pandering to Giants fans makes sense in that market. He was second rate here and that has continued on in NYC. You can safely say stupid things that will never be dis-proven and Dak isn't going to be a Free Agent anytime soon to make Gary apologize for his pandering.

Dak Prescott will almost assuredly end his career as the all-time Dallas Cowboys passing leader. He averages almost 250 yards per game passing. That's significantly higher than Romo who was the best of anyone with 20+ starts. Dak was over 300 yards per game last year.

Dak Prescott will likely end up with at least the second most wins in Cowboys history. At this pace, 10 wins a season, he'd pass Tony Romo on his next deal be it 4 years or anything greater. Troy would take him 6 seasons, Roger 5. Troy only had 27 wins through 4 full NFL seasons. Dak is on a pace 13 wins ahead of that. Romo had 6 wins at this age.

Dak Prescott had holes in his game prior to 2019. He would get lazy with footwork and throw some inaccurate passes. He fumbled a bit too much. But 2019 showed a drastic improvement in those areas. And why not. He is using Tom Brady's personal QB coach for development. In 2019 he performed at a rate that was elite. He was a top 5 passer for 2019. His weapons and offense got better this off-season. Potentially markedly so.

Anyone with actual intellect has already grasped all these things. They are completely confused by the so very awful "Dak isn't good" takes. It is really hard to tell if the authors of those takes are trolls, just dumb as dirt, hurt Romo-stans or some other weird affliction. If you hold such a weird opinion perhaps ask yourself to which group you belong and see about removing yourself. Because you are talking out of your butt about our franchise QB.
Lots of fans can't let go of Romo's lower-parts. They were seriously in love with him like a romantic relationship. I tried to tell those idiots back in the day, so this is what they get. I don't give a **** about those people, I just wish they moved on to another team.

Meanwhile, I'm moving forward. Whether Dak's the QB or not, I'm moving forward, not looking back.

OP lost me after the first “truth”

I agree that for the next 4-5 years, Dak will make 30+ mil, but for the next 8-9 years?
That gets out of the sure thing category and goes into a full-on assumption of success throughout the full first 4-5 seasons.
We dont know that, so out the window with “truths” right off the bat.

Still waiting for proof JT. But isn't that how it works? You win or go home? If, as you say 4th in passing TDs with a 3 to 1 TD to INT ratio only gets you 8-8, then clearly the money being proposed at QB needs to be spent elsewhere because those numbers aren't the answer.

Weird right?

Dak plays every week.
He toughs it out regardless unlike the red head in Philly who has to sit out 3 passes into a playoff game while his 40+ year old back up plays with his hamstring detached from the bone.

Your gibberish is just goofy.
Dak threw it only 23 times versus the Rams and they leaned on the run after the shoulder hit.
It is certainly not Dak's fault the Commanders tanked week 17.

Again with every post you look more and more goofy.
Everyone knows Dak wasn't healthy and didn't practice last year before facing Philly. --in fact that's likely why they signed a real back up this year.
All that said he passed for 265 yards and still fought for yards rushing on his bum shoulder.
Dak didn't need to prove anything as he had beaten that team soundly earlier in the year and 3 other times consecutively.

dude get your own proof.
you literally never have any but always ask for it, lol.
it's pretty hilarious.

i am not here to do your homework for you.

Yeah, you are the one who should be talking about things like that on this board. I never asked you for anything and even if you provided it, which you wouldn't, I wouldn't trust it because I've caught you too many times. Proof are in the wins. Try and keep up.

A contract worth 30m in 4-5 years will equate to about the 25th highest in the NFL at current rates of growth.
That's not a leap but a very safe projection.
In all likelihood, the next deal in 4-5 years is for 45+.

Everybody who suits up toughs it out. So what? What's your point?

That's fair but probably overstated.
Keep in mind he averaged 300 yards passing last year and they gave him a better starting receiver at TE and the top WR in this class.
He could hit that passing yardage total in very few seasons by simply maintain last year's pace in a league that passes more as time goes by.
It'd shock no one if he averaged 325 yards per game next year.

Wins is always more iffy but we are taking an average of his 4 seasons here and with the talent in hand being at least as good as those other teams.
And a coaching staff that would rate at least a bit better by even Garrett's biggest fans.

QBs simply have long shelf lives generally. Most don't reach peak until about the age 30. That's 3 more full seasons for Dak to even get there.

Romo and Roger started out later in life.
Troy had back and concussion issues.

It doesn't mean Dak will be the best ever Dallas QB but he will likely be the owner of most Dallas QB records.
And that is the guy people are crying about paying.
I get what you are saying, and I don't disagree that he has added a weapon and hopefully we will get more from the TE position, but that is still near term, and doesn't speak to weapons in a few years, or whether he will have any injury issues at some point, or will become less effective for any reason.

As for it not shocking anyone if he averaged 325 yards per game, I disagree. I would be surprised if he averages what he did last year. Aaron Rodgers only averaged 300 ypg once under McCarthy (the only time in his career), and he didn't have the same potential for a running game the Cowboys do. Rodgers was more in the 270 range. I would be thrilled with Dak being in that 270 range, coupled with a strong running game.

But all I'm really saying is it is too early to start talking about career accomplishments as if they are assured by the pace he started his career on. There are a lot of players that were on a HOF pace early in their careers that couldn't sustain it, Time is the only way to tell.

He didn't need to prove anything with the playoffs on the line cause he beat them in October? You're obviously full of excuses. You took your long winded crap opinion and tried to pass it off as a fact.
