I like Dak more than many people here, but comparing his volume stats to past players is really worthless. Passing numbers have been steadily inflating since the late 1970s.

We also have no idea how long his career will be. He's been very durable SO FAR. That doesn't mean he'll play until he's 40+.
Firstly, I agree.
The fact is he will likely hold plenty of team records whether or not he is great going forward.
These passing records mean he is the franchise record holder but doesn't he is great.
Mostly that Tony Romo didn't start games until later in his career and Troy ended his early due to concussions/back.

Secondly, here is where you are incorrect.
I am only asking him to play at this rate until 31 years old.
Anything beyond that is just gravy.

Reality is, this was a lowest common denominator accomplishment list.
It suggests nothing hard to achieve or difficult.

4 seasons at last years passing yardage would make him the all-time franchise leader.
He could pass Roger for 2nd all-time in wins in four years by averaging 11.5.

Again, suggesting 5 or 6 years is conservative.

Well, it's worked for you all these years so it kinda surprises me that you would call it out as "wreirdest" of all time. Whatever......

Facts are facts and you, you are full of opinion. You don't know whats been offered or asked for. Neither does Slater and if she did, I've never seen it proven with anything remotely similar to facts.

Put up or shut up. If you have something that proves what has been asked for and what has been offered, post it. If not, then admit that you, like all the rest of us, don't know.
again not doing your homework for you.
led to water but you gotta drink.
anyone with a brain knows the 35M is basically agreed to and the difference is in years.
ask again without searching yourself and you are going on ignore.

I don't know about you, but it's refreshing in todays NFL to have a QB who was arguable our best player finish out his contract and not hold out even though he way outplayed his initial deal.. The team tried to get him signed but as I said before, Dak wanted to prove he was worth more than what they were offering, and guess what? HE DID!

I guess I look at it slightly differently. To me, if the team is trying to offer more money in your pocket, then you've already proven to them that you are worth more. I would say this, the rookie wage scale is not really a matter of offering, so to speak. It's a set scale so I don't think it's indicative of what the team felt he was worth, at the time. It simply is what it is.

Honestly, I would have rather seen him accept a deal and put money in his pocket and that would have allowed us to negotiate a better deal down the road. Cap is a tricky thing sometimes. Some years, you are in a better position to pay more, some to pay less. Kinda all depends I guess. IDK, it is what it is.

I like the player, I just don't like him at 35 or above. Truth is, I don't really like 33, which is the last offer I believe was actually reported, maybe 34, can't remember. But I don't like that number for any QB so it's not a personal thing with Dak. It's a thing with how the league is treating QB salaries. I'm not really for it is all.

LOL..... Dude, nobody is going to ask you to do anything for them, especially anything remotely close to "Homework", as if......... Who's gonna copy of your paper? Seriously, think about it.

Once again, another example of a statement you make, which you can not support, so you try and play it off. That's JT, its who you are.

So many threads with wasted energy going around and round when none of that matters.

There are basic truths fans will simply have to come to grips with.

Dak Prescott will likely not earn less than 30M per year(AAV) at any point over the next 8 or 9 seasons. --as a side note Gary Myers was in Dallas before NY and his take was simply false and silly but pandering to Giants fans makes sense in that market. He was second rate here and that has continued on in NYC. You can safely say stupid things that will never be dis-proven and Dak isn't going to be a Free Agent anytime soon to make Gary apologize for his pandering.

Dak Prescott will almost assuredly end his career as the all-time Dallas Cowboys passing leader. He averages almost 250 yards per game passing. That's significantly higher than Romo who was the best of anyone with 20+ starts. Dak was over 300 yards per game last year.

Dak Prescott will likely end up with at least the second most wins in Cowboys history. At this pace, 10 wins a season, he'd pass Tony Romo on his next deal be it 4 years or anything greater. Troy would take him 6 seasons, Roger 5. Troy only had 27 wins through 4 full NFL seasons. Dak is on a pace 13 wins ahead of that. Romo had 6 wins at this age.

Dak Prescott had holes in his game prior to 2019. He would get lazy with footwork and throw some inaccurate passes. He fumbled a bit too much. But 2019 showed a drastic improvement in those areas. And why not. He is using Tom Brady's personal QB coach for development. In 2019 he performed at a rate that was elite. He was a top 5 passer for 2019. His weapons and offense got better this off-season. Potentially markedly so.

Anyone with actual intellect has already grasped all these things. They are completely confused by the so very awful "Dak isn't good" takes. It is really hard to tell if the authors of those takes are trolls, just dumb as dirt, hurt Romo-stans or some other weird affliction. If you hold such a weird opinion perhaps ask yourself to which group you belong and see about removing yourself. Because you are talking out of your butt about our franchise QB.
Well said JT.

I think the NFL needs a year off and to see that the fans can and will find something else to spend their time and money on.
There aren't any fans I personally know of that need a year off to let them know what they already know....they love football and watch as much as they can. A year with no football would be pure torture.

Imagine being so ignorant of NFL history that you casually project Dak passing for 5K yards for four more years like it's nothing...

And then imagine being so clueless that you think Dak will still be in the NFL in four years... :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

You make great points and they're valid, I think if the cowboys handled things better they would of offered him a better contract after year 2. Their last offer came a little later in the game and it puts Dak in a position now where time is on his side. Both sides want the deal done obviously so at this point all I see is posturing just like most players and agents do. I guess my point is, this forum acts like they've never seen player and FO contract disputes before, what is happening is pretty common place except for the fact Jerry Jones screwed up and didn't offer him a good will contractual pay raise two years ago. Dak has arguably been our best and most stable player much to the chagrin of this forum.

Well, I agree with what I think you are saying here. I may not agree with all of your points but I agree with the main one. It will get done when it gets done.

I'd be totally shocked if he isn't. Look around the league at the QB's who have been in the league a long time.
Yeah... they are all REALLY GOOD.

Dak is the exact kind of marginal talent that as soon as one of many possible outcomes (he gets a little worse, he suffers an injury, the team gets worse) occurs, then he is gone.

Cam Newton was handed an MVP shortly over four years ago, the same season that Dalton was talked about as an MVP candidate before his season-ending injury. Now neither of them are even starters. The end comes fast.

The most ignorant part about questioning the intelligence of “Dak haters” is that we look at a total different set of stats and facts which the other side refuses to acknowledge. I read a five paragraph article yesterday that listed stat after stat and fact after fact showing why Dak is an average QB that is playing with more talent than anybody since Aikman. There is no need for me to list it here. It is not going to change any minds. To dismiss arguments that Dak is nothing but average is doesn’t make you smart. It makes you biased and close minded. The Dak supporters even go so far as to run down Cowboy greats like Aikman to attempt to build Dak up. How much intelligence does that show? Three Supper Bowl wins and a HOF career is something that Dak will never see. I doubt any future Dallas QB has that kind of career. Another point is that the Dak supporters think the dislike comes from Dak taking Romo’s place. Romo was done physically and if it wasn’t Dak it would have been somebody else taking his place.
there is no other side. we are all cowboys fans....but seemingly your agenda is to create sides.....and everyone has acknowledged all the facts.....and interestingly you accuse the "other side" of what you just did yourself!!! not look at all the facts...

Passing stats and flags on DBs. That's inflation.

Troll alert....why were they playing from behind?..Dak opened the 1st Qtr with pick 6 or
Did Dallas have a defense?

Dak Hater,.....

A top O line and RB, can't score on their opening drive and middle of the pack in the red zone. Sure lets blame the D. I don't hate Dak, just no reason to pay him 35 million a year when this team can get the same results at a fraction while upgrading the rest of the roster.

like which QBs? mahomes? Brady? Brees? those guys don't have elite players playing with them?
They have talent but was that recognized talent before they played with them? You could say Hill was but 2 of those, as well as Wilson, have elevated the play around them with good players they helped make better.

We've seen the better QB's missing some pieces and perform and lift others, you ever see that with Prescott? Or did you see the opposite when Elliott was out or before he got Cooper? The fact, imo, is that it wasn't that group of WR's, after they canned Bryant, they were not the problem because both Beasley and Williams were right, they were getting NFL open and not getting the ball. I know, I watched the games again just for that. They realized they had to get talent better than the QB for the QB.

I am not going to change any Dakster's or Dakater's mind so I don't argue any more than I did against the Romorooters. I am neither, I am in that area where they need him because they don't have any other option for this season, and I don't see Dalton as that, but it would not bother me if they didn't sign him long term but then the real problem pops up, they need luck finding a QB, they really suck at it.
