Dan Fouts is in but he has a league mvp under his belt I believe.
 
If Tony had a competent coach by his side, he's a lock for the hall of fame. Case in point: was Drew Brees a hall of fame player in San Diego? Nope, not even close.

And I'd argue Tony was just as talented as Drew. The difference? Drew had Sean Payton. Despite Jason Garrett, Tony put up hall of fame numbers but likely won't get in. SMH

On the career timeline (Dak's year 4/5 vs Romo's year 4/5), Dak is much much better than Romo and it's not even close. Dak is on track to eclipse Romo's legacy and estinguish the remembrance of it from all but the most staunch Romo snowflakes.

That’s a very interesting fact. I was not aware of that. He also has a career losing record as a starting quarterback. Volume of yards, touchdowns and longevity must have been enough.
 
I always thought Romo was unfairly bashed by Cowboys "fans" but I never considered him a serious Hall of Fame candidate.

Without rings OR high career TOTALS for yards and touchdowns no QB is getting in the HOF. That's just how it works. Philip Rivers is going to lap Romo in yards and touchdowns, and he's not a Hall of Famer either.

Romo played mostly under absolute stiffs at head coach, and for half of his career Jerry was in peak "Trade everything for busted veteran WR, YEEEEHAW" laughingstock GM mode.

Honestly Romo's greatest crime was not telling them both to get bent and force a trade to a real NFL team. Cowboys fans don't like hearing that real winners would never stay on their team while Garrett was in charge though.

Not enough playoff wins or a super bowl . Therefore he is not HOF material . Romo is unlucky however . If the cowboys had a decent Coach after parcels or a decent defense things would be totally different.

No Romo was not better than Luck so what makes him a Hall of Famer besides Jerry Jones being his daddy? Romo may get in due to Jerry Jones getting in before Jimmy Johnson. Jerry will get him in eventually undeserving as he was for what he did for the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't think Romo will make HOF

But you said a bunch of BS otherwise
1) Luck did NOT have more winning seasons. Team stat, but Romo had more...5 to 4
2) Romo had a far better QB rating in the playoffs
3) Romo had a far better TD to Int ratio in the playoffs...not close
4) Romo had a far better QB rating in the regular season
5) Romo had a far higher comp % in both the regular season and playoffs

I am a big Romo fan. Top 6 QB of his era IMO but he’s not an all time best that’s deserving of the hall of fame. I’d be ecstatic if he got in because he’s a great guy and an amazing player.
 
he had the talent and numbers to be considered a long shot at HOF but his lack of big game appearances in NFCCG and SBS hurt his career..so no he wont be a consideration by voters..Romo was one of my all time DC faves..

neither are going in but Romo is underrated by most so realize the drooling over Luck isnt a surprise...both great QBs who came up short in their careers in similar ways..

Jurgensen played for a crappy franchise at the time. One of the things I remember as a boy devoutly following the Cowboys is how year after year Jurgensen was praised to high heaven by Landry and the other Cowboys for his quarterbacking skills. And it wasn't just the kind of empty praise that teams usually give to an opponent. He was genuinely admired for his ability and performance.

Sonny was just like Johnny U, a passer in the run oriented NFL and they stood out and even Unitas said Sonny was the best pure passer he'd ever seen and his precision pinpoint passing was unmatched. He was the original dart thrower.
 
In order for a QB to get a bust, he has to have one of 3 things. 1) Lead an outstanding team, Bradshaw, Aikman, Starr, Kelly 2) put up eye catching stats with high octane offenses, Fouts, Warner or 3) transcend the game, Namath, Tarkenton. Romo did neither of those 3 things, he was a good QB, not great, and he got all out of himself he could.
