I wouldn't even go any higher than $5 or $6 million. For one year, pay-as-you-play with no guarantees.

I think we signed Griffen for just that type of deal.
And there you have it.

As much as safety needs some serious attention, and that was before some report that Dix wasnt playing well....this should be much more of a no brainer thing.

The fact that it isnt should raise flags. Big time flags.

I think the flags are being raised by Earl Thomas himself.

I also think exactly how badly this guy wants to play in Dallas is overrated.

All else (money) being equal then sure.

Baltimore overpaid for him in a big way. He thinks he is worth more than he is, and with at least 20 other teams as possibilities, I have little doubt someone offers him multi years with eight figures of guarantees.

Come to think if it, telling Garrett "bring me here," on camera was pretty damn disrespectful to Seattle. They let him move on.

Then this in Baltimore.

Wouldnt surprise me if Jerry and son decide not to even bring him in here. I'm not gonna be upset either way.

1000%........can he sign a contract with his next team BEFORE grieving whether or not the Ravens should pay his entire salary???

You exactly right, he didn't have locker room issues with the Seahawks. It was more contract/injuries. But whatever happened with the Ravens, he's damaged goods now like you said. In fact, couple teams have already said they have NO interest. MM just admitted they've talked about it but say it's Jerry and/or Stephen call. Perfect window to shut any chance of ET coming here to rest, but HE DIDN'T.

Our front office tried to make a trade for him as well as signing him as a fa. Unless there is much more to this story then we are aware of and his price isn't too high, I expect him to be signed by the Cowboys.

Maybe he did maybe he didn't. Depends on your perception.

If he did then that is a knock on him because the guy he is throwing under the bus stood their and took bullets for him many times over the last 4 years when he was lousy.

I personally do not think he did though. Again I do not even like Garrett because of the way he handled a number of things here but I don't think Dak is going to be taking shots at garrett.
Garrett didn’t take bullets for anyone. He repeatedly didn’t take responsibility and put the blame on everyone else. And tried again in his exit interview lol. The guy is a loser.

I think if we had Richard Sherman or someone similar on the team, it would be more palatable to bring Thomas is. Sherman is out there is lobbying for the guy but Sherman has enough cache and respect to be able to best keep a guy like Thomas in line. I am not sure we have that guy, at least in the secondary. Thomas comes in and he's the senior vet guy there and won't take kindly to Awuzie or even Clinton-Dix telling him to shut up and do what's right.

Three years ago I wanted this guy, now I can't believe I am saying it might be wise to pass on him.

Jason La Canfora's article was very biased and one-sided (this is the same org that was fine with Ray Rice until the tape came out), and there are two sides to every story, but it also seems that Thomas is trying to coast on his rep and athleticism. Maybe he thinks if he comes here, Jerruh will let him do what he wants, and just show up on Sundays. Doesn't seem that will work with Stephen or Coach McCarthy or the defensive leadership of the team.

Or maybe ET is getting done dirty by BMore and the media. Who knows.

At the end he did.

The more I read, the more it sounds like the Ravens were asking a pup to lead an alpha and ET couldn't handle it, so he kinda lost his way or interest, started doing his own thing. So maybe THIS IS the REAL Earl Thomas. I mean strong character follows you anywhere.....

Unless Im unaware of on off the field incident that could initiate a suspension, than Im not overly concerned about what takes place during a practice.
Its fairly common during camp that players throw punches occasionally, if I missed something in the report, than I apologize for my ignorance, but from what I heard it seemed fairly aggressive on his part, but no more than other incidents that take place every camp.

There are details we're all missing. Teams don't normally try to void contracts for incidents that take place every camp. We don't know the whole story.

1000%...... needs the presence of strong vet leadership or be the leader himself. Otherwise not sure it works as stated.

As much as La Canfora is a Baltimore homer I don't think he made any of this up.

Very true,, just initial excitement about possibly being the lead dog to sign ET was rather exciting, maybe a bit pre mature, but lets see how this turns out.

Also Should a 15-1 head coach with the best quarterback in the game lose at home in the divisional round to a 9-7 Wild Card Team? Is this what good coaches do?
...a year removed from a Super Bowl win against a Steelers team that was better.

I am ready to roll with the young bucks at safety. We have a solid team, they can grow together with the new regime etc. Why make a fuss and bring in ET? Things have been progressing in camp.

Read this! It's a tricky situation........one thing for sure, you can't have a player of his stature around a lot of young players if he's not willing to lead by example. Quite frankly, it appears he had no intention of leading with a Ravens. IF this there's a sense ( feel ) nothing's changed or he shows no regret/remorse for happened with his Raven teammates........I'm out, hard pass.

Buyer beware, again, to those who might think the Ravens overreacted. Best do all of your homework on this one. Bringing Thomas back to Texas, where his wife was arrested on a felony charge in connection with a domestic incident in the offseason, might not be the smartest decision for myriad reasons, and Thomas might not be the best guy to bring into a locker room that has had no shortage of drama on its own.

"Anytime you go where Jones won't go on a player with some warts, it should probably give you pause."

What a great line! I think I am more in love with the idea of the young ET, than the reality that is ET now. It's kinda sad really.
