Then again, many teams passed on him in the draft multiple times, and they havent been able to see film on him at all since.

Risky to claim him and carry on the 53. I'd think he will make it to PS.

every team has a bernard. Cuts are always filled with each teams local media not understanding how all these great players are cut...usually wr and cb's.

Possibly, but I doubt it. Bernard is healthy, and he was tearing it up. Someone will pick him up. McCarthy screwed up, especially since Sean Lee will start the season on IR and Luke Gifford is nursing an injury. Huge risk having only 5 healthy LBs to start the season with 2 of those as backups did not perform better than Bernard throughout camp.

So they cut LB Francis Bernard who was tearing it up throughout all of training camp and proving he could not only start but be ready as a backup especially since Sean Lee is starting on IR, but the Cowboys are going to keep 3rd string QB Dinucci on the 53 manned roster even though Dak already has his backup in Andy Dalton?

all kidding aside not sure I get this Benard cut but it is what it is . I wasn’t there and done evaluate talent but at this point to me anyhow he’s would have been more valuable or as valuable as Lee. He needs to hang them up

Not saying Bernard is great, but this is surprising from a LB depth point of view.

I suppose it's possible the rationale is that they will only have 3 LB on the field at once rarely.

playing well in no tackling practices is different then being a starter game 1, had to be a reason., we are thin there and if the coach isnt seeing enough he released and brought back to the pS if he clears waivers.. some much bigger names being cut all over today..

Yeah but tis all we have. All you have to gauge is these practices. I just hope they have a plan in place. I'm sure they'll try to sneak him on practice squad.

sounds like Lee is going to be ready to return in a week and they went the 4 week route of letting him rest with the sports hernia.

umm my point was everyione keeps pointing out he was playing pretty well in camp and are surprised, im saying for the last time, he obviously wasn't playing well enough as OK is not good enough to keep a spot on the 53 this season..

no i dont think its wrong I just think a few other reporters have stated that They think he is a week out from returning. I imagine the term returning means to physical activity. So I assume if that is the case he might be ready to play week 4 is or 5?

Wrs and CBs often look better than they are in the preseason.
LB is harder to gauge in low contact environment with no games.
As for bernard, I think he's going to either make someone's team outright or be on our practice squad.

In a small bout with reality just now (actually reality, not the guy here lol)....

I realized some of us probably took a few camp reports and turned him into something he isnt in our own minds.

The dude DID just go undrafted a few months ago.

I am still surprised a high motor guy isnt considered a ST asset if nothing else.
