It is knee jerk Monday, the season is done and over with. lol Granted had Dallas pulled it off we would have claims of SB on the horizon. Reality is it is week 1, there are some good things that came out of the game and many things that they need to do better. Atlanta is next up and this team needs to learn from mistakes and get themselves ready to face Alt.
What I find interesting is how fast we’re going to find out how well Big Mac can (or can’t) coach these guys up. Injuries have hit early, and it’s going to take some serious coaching to overcome them. The honeymoon for MM lasted a week, lol.

Outside of LVE Dallas should be able to overcome the other injuries As for McCarthy and staff I don't think they can be fairly judged based on 1 game. Then again I'm not overly concerned what the nay sayer have to say.

Bullet, I only panic when I am out of coffee or liquor and am never out of either.

The Cowboys got outplayed and outcoached, it happens. The Rams are a good team and were coming off just as a disappointing season as the Cowboys were.

The injuries are troublesome as all 3 of those positions are not a position of depth. There will be calls for Williams to move to RT but if anyone watched him getting rag dolled last night, I don't think putting him at RT will help unless they cover him with a TE. And the starting TE looks to be a better blocker than weapon anyway so why not?
outplayed to a large degree. outcoached to a much lesser degree. we adjusted to their offense after a quarter and a half. we led at the half. but we had no answer for aaron donald. steele was not made of steel.

Yes I do and I'm not afraid to post my views, you or anyone else acting as if they are holding me accountable is a joke. You have your views that is fine but acting as if what you have to say means a damn thing to me is laughable. You are a fan nothing more and your views are just that yours. I will show you the same respect or lack of that you are willing to show me.

I’m not surprised at the overreaction of so many fans after last night’s game. Before the season started, the overconfidence here was laughable. It’s not time to panic or act like one game defines this team for 15 more games. That too is laughable. Sure, it was a disappointing start, but it is certainly NOT fatal.

What I encourage every Cowboys fan to do this morning is drink some coffee and skip the Koolaide. It will make you feel better to stop drinking the Koolaide that overlooks this team’s weaknesses. Drinking the coffee takes in both the team’s strengths and weaknesses.

Here’s some coffee which looks at the good and bad:
  • This team lost last night because their defense gave up 422 yards, including 163 on the ground to an average running game. That has to improve.
  • The defense had a problem stopping the run last night, but there are signs its pass rush will be potent. Aldon Smith and Everson Griffith really do look like great additions.
  • The offense is always harder to to be in sync to start the season. It looked good at times, and out of sync at times.
  • Dak Prescott had a very good game; just didn’t have a great game. As bad as the D played, if that ticky- tac PI call wasn’t made, we would be talking about the great pass Dak made to Gallup.
  • The OL was missing two key starters, used a UFA rookie tackle, who wasn’t great but wasn’t awful either. Under Garrett, missing a starter on the OL seemed to always endanger our QB.
  • Injuries to LVE, Blake Jarwin and Cam Ervin are troublesome. But this is where coaching and the FO matters. Coach up what you have, and hope the FO finds some help.
  • This was ONE GAME. Don’t panic. The rams aren’t chopped liver. They have an excellent HC and were playing at home on national TV opening their new stadium. Why is anyone surprised they played well?
This list could go on. But one other thing to remember: Don’t drink the Koolaide. The Cowboys have a lot of question marks to solve. Doesn’t mean they won’t. Just stay hopeful and realistic.

There’s a difference between hope and overconfidence. Hope is a good thing because it keeps you positive but still tied to reality. Overconfidence is fools gold. It over-values strengths and overlooks weaknesses. Like all NFL teams we have both.

Folks- I have news for all of us. Every single game on our schedule will be difficult. Drink some coffee and fasten your seatbelt.

Whada mean don't drink the Koolaid???? Vodka and Koolaid is what's getting me through the day.

Greg is big on accountability and after one game that I picked wrong last season sent some guys that looked like agents from The Matrix to get me to apologize.

I agree early on defense struggled with the same plays that LA was throwing at them, they did adjust to those quick passes as the game wore on. Run defense was not where I would like it to be through out the game. As for Donald he is a great player who can make a lot of OL players look bad but for the most part I though Conner Williams handled him fairly well and likely the toughest guy Williams will face this year

the only thing i didn't like about the coaching was the 4th and 3. i'd have gone for the field goal. but that's just me. the failure was in player execution. donald had his way with our o-line.

does that same standard apply to yourself? doesn't seem that it does. your same insipid responses are most emetic.
Of course. We’re all accountable. My Criticism on this game heading in to it and since have been spot on.

Earlier in the week I was bashed for calling out kool-aid drinkers but it’s ok to console them this morning.

lol He can hold something else for all I care. I don't apologize for being a Cowboys fan and if I error I will error on the side of the Cowboys not some message board hack. We all have views some pessimistic and some optimistic and that is fine.

Imagine that. Not judging an entire season on one game. Imagine the Koolaide guzzling if we had blown out the Rams last night. Many fans would be decorating the Super Bowl bandwagon after one game.

The truth is, it takes some time to really know what a team is. Win or lose, game one is not necessarily the time to declare “this team sucks”. They did on defense last night for sure. But my gawd, the panic I’ve seen around here last night and today is humorous.

The play call was also questionable . As was many others.

If we go back to our losses last year our play calling in critical situations has been questionable. We may been to quick to anoint Moore a genius.

I agree as far as if it were my call to make I would have taken the 3 and the tie at 20 to 20, I felt defense at that stage of the game was playing better so I felt we could stop the Rams offense and give ourselves a chance to get the ball back for a chance at the win. Having said that I don't fault McCarthy reasoning to go for it, it was a gutsy call on his part that came up short, Any heat he takes for it is legit but I'm not down on him for doing it.

1 game at a time, but we can all agree Dak, the defense, and David Buehler all failed in the first game.

Maybe better next game?

It matters just like results do. If not then this is all a waste of time.

Unless we don’t challenge the cheerleaders and critics. . But we do so it matters. Someone has to be right and wrong. Even if it’s one game at a time.

I agree especially given there was no pre season. I expect Cowboys to clean things up and be ready to go next weekend
