No sense of urgency to beat Seattle

We played a tough competitive game against the Rams. But moral victories shouldn’t be enough for a team that was touted to be a serious contender in 2020.

We were gifted a win last week and we should be counting our blessings we aren’t 0-2 on the verge of a potential season ending dagger tomorrow.

1-2 looks pretty good right now. Losing to better than average teams is our pedigree in recent years. We have some more winnable games coming up in Oct which could produce 4-3 heading into Nov which will probably be leading the division.
I never like the idea of being gifted a win, as if in this case the 37 points before the onside kick didn’t play a part. Yes, the Falcons screwed up at the end, just as the Cowboys screwed up in the beginning. We could just as easily say the Cowboys gifted the Falcons a big lead.

it can happen who cares about us in the NFL you can fix issues even with a 3-5 start...this year with an extra WC you can still meet your goal even if team starts 0-3

big runs happen all the time reeling off 6-7 wins in row.. its how you finish not how you start because ive seen teams start 6-0 and miss the playoffs..

This is it precisely. If you actually watch the game. The cowboys were the better team on the field. Yes they needed a lucky play to pull it off.

but at the same time. It’s an anomaly to have 3 lose fumbles in the first quarter. That’s just something that happens far more rarely than an onside kick recovery.

If not for that rare occurrence. The cowboys may not have ever needed an onside kick to win.

You can twist it however you choose. But the epic collapse has already been written. Spotting them 20 points wasn’t enough. Lol

I guess you’re going to need another big Dak Bear hug. And I thought you were bowing out. Lol

You can’t handle any criticism of your boy wonder.
Let’s get a circle jerk going for Dak.

A circle jerk? Man you’re about as classless as it comes man. You can GFY

Those are separate arguments.. 0-3 was this example.

Wow you missed the point entirely. Why am I not surprised.

the point is. It’s a TEAM GAME. It’s entirely possible that Dak could be great but the TEAM loses. That’s how football works.

if Dak does play great but the TEAM loses. Then critics who get on him for the team losing are being stupid.

that’s my point. And it’s the truth.

Defenses play a huge role in wins and losses. But the QB gets the credit and the blame.

Keep it up man. Maybe instead of starting dumb threads you can go back and spend time studying basic high school level probability. People might put more weight to your opinions then.

I know that flamma. But it’s asinine and stupid. It
Shows a lack of football knowledge when people do that. That’s not a credit to those who engage in it because other fans do the same thing.

I don’t rest anyone who is able to play. But I don’t do that for any game that is meaningful. Only end of the season when the game doesn’t matter.

I don’t expect the cowboys to get blown out. I don’t expect them to win. But I expect them to be competitive.

I agree that the division is weak. 9-7 prolly safely win it. 8-8 May win it. So it’s certainly not in “must win” category.

my biggest thing is I want to see them continue to improve with the new coaching staff ya know. Like if they play a tough competitive game vs a very good team like Seattle. But ultimately fall short and lose. I think I’ll feel overall ok about it.

Yeah, I’m definitely in this mindset as well. Win or lose, I want to see continued improvement on both sides of the ball.

Agree with Diehard too. It’s not a must win game that we have to approach with urgency because our division is so bad. Granted, I’ve adjusted my season expectations so I am going into each week with this approach. I just want to see us improve and get better game to game. We will win the division if we do that I think.

Without a doubt Atlanta screwed up - I said that. But Dallas had to do an awful lot wrong to get in that hole to begin with, and an awful lot right to get back in the game where the onside kick mattered. What the Cowboys did was huge, both on the bad side to start, and the good side thereafter, so it’s not really fair to suggest the Falcon’s mistake at the end is the only factor in the win.

Both teams make good and bad decisions throughout every game, and the winner is often who comes out on the positive side of that ledger. If the Cowboys made better decisions and better plays down the stretch than Atlanta, they did their part to earn the win and Atlanta didn’t.

Yeah but.....if you only get 7 or 8 wins your prospects for getting to the super bowl are very slim. Just making the playoffs is not the goal. Besides, Dak needs this win to beat a team that is considered to be a contender and silence a few critics.
You still think this a serious SB contender?

I hear ya Rogers but Epic Collapse describes the results not the entire game.

I doubt we win. Dallas has not looked good. And Kellen Moore needs tobe shown the street. I am willing to bet he reverts back to the boring offense this Sunday...and that's why MM is a fraud. MM is suppose to be an offensive mind, yet he allows Moore any say in the offense is a joke...

I agree. If Dak performed at a high level and we win this game it turns our season on a dime. Brings new respectability not only to Dak but our touting of this season.

I’m just being sarcastic and realistically apathetic.

The results are based on the entire game, and it was the term “gifted” that I was referring to anyway. I don’t disagree that Atlanta “collapsed”, but that doesn’t happen unless the Cowboys are also performing well.
