Morning Pops and Popsadoodles. Here's hoping for an injury free, fun filled weekend for all of us and a get out of the dog house for free card to bestow upon ABQ. I'm off to paint in the bathroom some more.

lol........ Xelda, don't waste time on that. I will only find myself back in it before the ink dries on the card. This is why I built a 50x100 Dog House. Time and money well spent!

Morning Pops and a wonderful Salacious Saturday to all y'all. I shall live vicariously through your exploits and might possibly be imagining you having a better time than you are actually having so check in often. "(Sigh), I'm bored. Think I'll check in for what CC thinks I might be doing..........and hope I'm not too embarrassed".

X girl, sorry to hear you've been making bogies on the health course of life and hope you are on the mend. Golf reference for Leon and I doff my cap. I am not wearing a cap but I would doff it in his general direction and probably hit a couple of his foursome with collateral doffing. I still have my tonsils because they refuse to leave. They've been making bets on what adult beverage might be coming next.

Jan, I hope you are getting your new home just right for you as your home should be your sanctuary and not your sanitarium. Shouldn't they call that insanitarium? That stuff makes me crazy.

ABQ, nice selection and I remember my shock when I found out James Taylor's ongoing struggles with drugs. I don't know why but he didn't strike me as a guy that would get hooked but so many in the music and entertainment biz do so I shouldn't have been surprised. Guess I should have looked deeper into his lyrics for the hints?

Colo and RGV, not leaving out our two members that named themselves for locations and now one of them has to rethink that. I think G should change his moniker to RubyRed for those breast sized fruits that are so excellent. RGV stands for Rio Grande Valley or I could be wrong and it's Reginald Grayson Vicksimmons of the Devonshire Vicksimmons.

Runny, you'll be Hootering it soon and life will return to normal. I'd like to have a normal life with a hot wing in my mouth and eyes bulging out at tight tops and hot pants. Instead of just bulging out because I got the damn sauce to hot...again.

ksk, sheep. Nuff sed.

I know there's a lot of turmoil and uncertainty right now and this seems to get weirder each week and we're all at that stage of "Oh hell, what's next"? But just stop and consider what we are witnessing, boredom with humanity is impossible right now. Right now, is the most unusual circumstance and time since this country fought for it's freedom and then for the freedom of others. We are living in wonderous times, my friends. We are presented many images but we see what we look for.
I've been Hooterin', but with the masks over their lovely smiles it's just not the same. Plus, my second favorite girl got a job offer and moved to Florida while the restaurant was closed, and my favorite girl is now working in a different Hooters, which is much less convenient to get to, and I don't care for the set up of that building. There's no real way to stay away from other customers, which is bad enough when we're not in the middle of a pandemic.

Feeling a bit cantankerous this morning:

What, you look at their smiles? C'mon man! Isn't that like subscribing to Playboy for the articles?

I had to look up sensimilla. o_O

And, good Sunday morning to everyone!

Morning Pops, Popsadoodles and and a wink and a nod to the college football gods.

My Razorbacks were one conference loss away from one of the more dubious records in all of college football, the most consecutive conference loses and this started for them in 2017 when they last won one. They were at 20 or to put that in another perspective, 1071 days and nights since a conference win. They faced Miss St. in Cowbell Kingdom after they beat LSU in Death Valley, the stage was set for salt to come pouring into that wound. And all they had to do was run out the clock to preserve a very unlikely 21-14 win over a QB that put 600+ yards up against LSU in their own lair the week before and one of their players committed a PF to stop the clock and the hearts of the Hog Faithful, it could slip away. They held on and I think that one win might be equal to the one that gave them their National Championship that Booger and Jimmy were part of.

The other gifts from those gods was a back to back OU loss because that is my least favorite state but the real gift was Texas losing to Iowa State in Ames, where they hadn't beaten Texas since 1960, you read that right. What a glorious thing for the poor people in the state that most ignorant geographically challenged Americans think is Idaho or vice versa.

I was born in Arkansas and back then when the delivering doc slapped you on the bottom, "BEAT TEXAS" was what came out of every newborn's mouth. When we beat them 14-13 in 1964, we cried and drove around Little Rock all night reminiscent of VE Day. When they beat us 15-14 in the Big Shootout in 1969, they renamed the Ozark Mountains the Hillbilly Wailing Wall.

An Arkansas win, and most likely the most important one since 1969, coupled with a Texas loss makes the world make sense for at least one day. And how fitting is it that the only state to keep Arkansas from ranking 48th before there were 50 was the site of the Second Greatest in the History of College Football. I named it that, I made that up. I promised to tell y'all when I made stuff up. But if you think I am going back over all my posts to add that, you got another think coming. Cue Judas Priest.

Happy Funday Sunday all y'all. Enjoy these games while we still have them.

Morning Pops and everyone (that means you, and you... and you slinking down in the corner in the back.)

Let me start with this, and I hope I’m not treading on some superstition I’m not aware of here: Dear God, please please please don’t let this afternoon end with my carrying the level of ignominy of a scarlet letter at the conclusion of the Cowboy’s game... and please don’t let me burn the apple crisp.

Okay. That’s done :D. That’s all that’s in my control folks.

I wish there was a way to get all of you together, in person, for a game day. I imagine what that would look like... and it doesn’t scare me, but rather I have to laugh... and there’s probably not an insurance policy big enough to cover it;). I’m curious, too about who you all really are. Then again, the mystery is part of the fun here. We get to be not necessarily who we are with our everyday people. There’s a freedom that comes with the not knowing and being able to let our guard down and fully express ourselves because we aren’t all face-to-face. Less judgment. It’s better than family and to be truthful you all know a lot more about me than some of the people I talk to everyday. You’re a “unique” group and I’d be lost without you all.

Ok, pumping the brakes on that one before it gets overly emotional.

Time to get going on those apples.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday.

There are some posts here that I like so much I wish I had an infinity symbol for. Can the powers-that-be work on that? Perhaps something in cowboy colors with sparkling stars that flow in the infinity ribbon...

I remember those two Texas vs Arkansas games, although, umm, I was quite young. My memories are probably a bit more pleasant than yours.

In '64, Ernie Koy did everything but sell refreshments in the stands... Rushed, passed, received and returned kicks.

The 1969 game made James Street and Cotton Speyer household names.

Well Jan, if I were a superstitious man, I'd say you done killed the Cowboys...but I'm not. They just suck.
Remember recently when I referenced about what brought me to the site? You may or may not recall that it was because I was have a real trouble with my faith in this team, and my feelings at that time about it being a one-win season. It didn’t end up that way then, but this season certainly has the makings of it. I can’t even describe my disappointment in this team and how I feel sabotaged with this coach and the team as a whole and the way they’re playing. It’s just embarrassing.

It is embarrassing, but if we had even a slightly below average defense, we'd probably be 3-1, instead of 1-3. I don't know if that helps, but if not, just remember it's only a game.
