Show some respect for the man’s service to his country. Mocking him in this way is taking it too far, especially if you have never made the sacrifices that he has.
Don’t tell me what to do, Kid

I don't enjoy Dak as a quarterback that much (there I said it), although I admit some of his runs and plays like his TD catch are exciting. I'm not sure what it is about him that I don't enjoy like I did with Romo, maybe it's simply that he's not Romo and took the place of one of my favorite players.

However, there's no way that I would ever wish injury on any player or be glad about one. We tend to view those things too casually because players get surgery and most of the time they come back. We don't experience the pain that they have to go through or even the risks (for the most part ... some here have been through similar).

Also, just because Dak is fifth on my list of favorite Cowboys quarterbacks doesn't mean I feel the need to disparage him or believe we can't win with him if the team is good enough. Just take a look at some of the past Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. For what it's worth, I believe the right team could also win with Dalton, but we don't have close to the right team right now.

So yes, Dalton is our quarterback now ... and it means nothing without a much better defense. So I don't know what all the back and forth and fighting is about. I feel sorry for any QB who starts for this team and have for a long, long time now.

Come on man, you're talking to a former freedom of speech Sysop/mod of a board. People have a right to say what they want, and others have a right to form opinions and react accordingly. Online morality police can also be those who say that people don't have a right to get offended, trying to enforce a lack of morality so to speak. I may be a bit of cynic at times, but I do pride myself on not being easily conned into things. The celebratory tone that the Dalton era has begun, and the concept of an era being something that is long term, and the timing of the whole thing makes me somewhat doubt what I see as mock innocence. I mean you have a right to choose to believe it and I have a right to not buy into it.
Well good for me I'm not on either side of the morality policing. You have a right to do whatever you want don't mean it isn't sad and or tooo sensitive. You may pride yourself into not being easily conned but like most people when emotions get involved your plans go out the window. We are reading typed words so any tone you're inferring is something you and the others added. I read the same thing and didn't take it that way. Its just a matter of perspective and in your case seriously parsing the word era. Again you do have a right to do what you want but save that you're not easily conned when this is a perfect example of that not being the case.

Why are you asking a very bad question and why do so many get online and turn obtuse smh.

I took offense at the tone of the post. The timing hit me wrong. I was sitting here watching the game with my wife. When she realized what had just happened, she started crying. Stuff like that makes both of us feel bad for the young man...any player. I wasn't being obtuse in the least. If you don't think the timing was bad or in bad taste, good for you. The injury hit my whole house wrong and this thread seemed to be celebrating the change it brought about. As far as I'm concerned, the timing and tone of the original post was terrible and insensitive.

Dalton also had a fumble that gave the Giants 8 points. He sucks
sounds like you will be the anti dak hater now. What did I tell you about the offense? They keep screwing us over, and yesterday(With Dak) was no exception and bam, down 17-3 or whatever it was due to offense.

and any point you ever tried to make in regards to dak just went out the window. Because you admit as much as you will be anti dalton you were pro Dak. Ive been a fan for 42 years, I root for my TEAM, and try to be objective, always. Exactly what I did with Dak.

Yeah yeah yeah. You have had an agenda since Dak took over and now you’re mad Dalton is going to get the same treatment. Enjoy it. I will. You Romo loving Dak haters just can’t man up and be honest. Always trying to lie about your agendas.

The difference is that Dalton’s mistakes don’t come with a 31 million price tag this year.
Makes no difference at all to the people who have flooded this board message boards with hate since 2016 when Dak was only $465k per year. This money angle that has recently started to be played by these people is dishonest. Their hate had absolutely nothing to to money whatsoever so you guys needs to quit bringing this BS up.

I really wish I was a kid, but I have been a Cowboys fan for over 50 years. Even as a kid, I knew to show respect for those that served this country. I also knew better than to criticize a man’s service when I had not served.
I don’t criticize his service. I called him Beetle Bailey. It was a joke and a funny one at that and you should know that because you grew up in an era where jokes were allowed.

No, but I definitely feel bad for them. The visual of this injury was much, much worse. I haven't been in the pay Dak anything he wants camp, but this injury was gruesome to watch. For most of us, it was sickening to see.

That's my point. You're taking offense at the tone of a post you interpreted that way. I didn't take it that and that's because I'm not looking to try to say everybody is some bad guy while some of y'all are being emotional for no reason. All I'm saying is feelings is a bad way to run your life but I see you and most don't care as long as you can justify your rationale it is all good. Did your wife start crying when Hill got injured since injuries make you feel so bad?

No, Hill's injury didn't have the same impact. Dak's injury was much more visually shocking. Plus, she's followed Dak's story to a greater degree...as have I. He's been through a lot that both of us personally identify with. So, it had a bigger impact. You're being intentionally argumentative. Who are you to tell me how to run my life? You don't know me. You don't know where I'm from or what I've done. I've absolutely had my feelings and emotions impact how I've lived my life. It helped me escape homelessness. It helped me make it through college. It made me an effective teacher. My feelings made me a better administrator. They allowed me to treat people with empathy. There's no question my feelings made me a better superintendent. My feelings made me effective at what I chose to do with my life.

You're a piece of work. I'm done with you.

I have always said that Dallas could find another QB that could do just as well, if not better, when surrounded by the talent that the team has had. Overpaying Dak will ruin the next few years. Dak is not a great QB and he don’t have any special characteristics that can’t be found in a cheaper QB. I fully expect Dalton to play very well this season and I expect that he will be more consistent, have better pocket presence, read defenses better and actually be able to throw WRs open. Dalton will not put up the ridiculous stats like Dak, but those stats have not translated into wins, so those stats are useless .

This is a new era, which I don’t care for, where people openly insults and disrespects our armed service members and other public servants. If you meant no harm, I apologize.
