He went 9-11 for 111 yards.. He wasn't really struggling.

I've watched thousands of NFL games and watching a QB come into a game cold and fumble a snap is just a thing that happens sometimes. No big deal.

Dalton came in and did what he needed to do.

Dalton at the end of the day will get you to the same place Dak will because they are both mediocre QB's and if you put them in optimal situations then you will have homers tell you they are better than they are.
So Prescott's yards don't matter, but Dalton's do? Take a gander at how many yards after catch the WR's had.

Prescott is NOT mediocre, just stop.

NO, the Seahawks just actually win when Wilson does it. Stats are near identical. Wilson just has a better defense. Cowboys have an average defense they are 5-0.

Gotta look at more then wins and losses to analyze football overall and individual players.

This is where your opinions fall off the shelf.

The Seahawks defense is terrible.

Gotta look at more then just stats when comparing players.

Watch the games. Wilson > Dak by miles.

These are the types of comments I can’t agree with.

Dak aside, I still think you really undersell how hard it is to find good QB play in the league.

We shall see though.

Yah, Dak has set the bar really low with breaking NFL passing records and leading the offense to 37 points per game.

All this troll can do is tie in the horrible defense into the team record and apply that to Dak to try and make a point.

I honestly don't care about the yards but to be fair Dalton wasn't playing catch up.

I'm more impressed with 9-11 coming off the bench cold and the 2 big passes to Gallup.

If Dalton can get this offense off to a fast start and Zeke gets going because we actually get a lead then I think we will be a better football team then we were with Dak who almost never could get this offense going early.

It is bad, but not Cowboys bad.

Wilson is better than Dak, never said otherwise.

They both carry their teams.

Wilson carries his team to W's and Dak is just along for the ride while taking whatever the rest of the team gives him.

Dak > Dalton

However in my opinion i would rather beef up the defense then pay Dak elite money. Jerry needs to learn you cant keep dumping money into the offense when the defense has been a complete joke for the past 20 years bar a couple freak years. However this is his "entertainment " mindset. I hate to say it but Dak will not become an "elite" quarterback. Close but no cigar. If dak wants to take a team friendly deal im all in.

I honestly think we wouldn't be any different this year or last year if Dalton was the quarterback. As in missing the playoffs.

Dalton will do just fine however for the next couple of games I expect some growing pains. No preseason and switching qbs early season will spell trouble on getting in sync. Especially with the recievers.

Jimmy is taking it 1 step further and saying we will win the division and the defense will improve BECAUSE of Dalton. Football guy...

Dalton gonna suit up and play safety? That's the only way he is going to improve the defense. Otherwise if the defense does get better it will because it gets LVE, Awuzie and Gregory back as well as their just getting more comfortable in Nolan's system. It will have zip point **** to do with Dalton.

LOL...……….that's all he said?

Wheres the part about the team winning because of Dalton? I guess you made that up?

All he is saying is that he thinks Dalton is a solid QB that can get the job done IF this and IF that.

Ill tell you what...………...If the Oline was as good as previous years and the defense was good, then I would agree.

But Dalton is NOT the guy you want behind a bad line and is not the guy you want to have to score 40 points a game.

I seriously doubt that this is what Jimmy Johnson is saying. And if he is, then I completely disagree.

The key phrase there is "as long as he manages the game." People are conveniently ignoring the most important part of Jimmy's statement. I suspect that with Dalton under center we will spend a lot less time in shotgun 5 wide trying to run the Air Raid offense. At some point the coaching staff has to realize that they need to protect the defense as well as their last good QB. Otherwise they're one hit away from calling Colin Kapaernick.

The one pass was a nice play extension and pass and a great catch. The other was all Gallup and an underthrown pass.

Are these stats similar to you?

QB1= 1380 Total yards 16 TD's
QB2= 1776 Total yards 12 TD's

Didn't he go 3 and out first couple drives with a fumble? Wow, he really came out hot!!! LOL

LOL...……….Yah sure buddy.

Which guy carries his team and which doesn't?

QB1 1776 Total yards and 12 TD's
QB2 1380 Total yards and 16 TD's

We are comparing QB's not teams.

The “underthrown” pass was the QB recognizing the safety crashing down and him releasing it early to give the WR a chance at making a play in 1 on 1 Coverage.

Bottom line is there is no chance Dalton can score 37 points per game in any offense. So they are going to have to slow down the game and try to make it as low scoring as possible.

Only think that's going to happen is teams will have to score only 30 to beat us instead of 40.

LOL...…..amazing how I never heard that excuse for any Dak underthrown ball. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

When Dalton underthrows it...……………..Its by design!!!!! :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Underthrown is underthrown. Had that been Prescott, you'd be persecuting him. That was simply a great catch by Gallup. Period.

Dak will get his money and it will be for country club reasons and not football reasons.

Dak is one of the big guys at the country club and Dallas will eventually participate in the market of stupidity that has become of the QB market.
not unlike Jaylon,Jason Witten,Jason Garrett, and Tony Romo to name a few. Dak is without a doubt the best QB on this roster.

That said your sentiment that we can get close to same results with Andy Dalton is probably not too far off. Im a bit worried about Andy's health to be honest I dont have a warm and fuzzy feeling about this line.

True enough.. The hope is that by managing the game you can be the team with the ball at the end with a chance to win it instead of the team fighting uphill all game long and falling short. I hope Dalton can regain his 2011-2016 form and give us a chance. He's got to be excited to be playing in what amounts to his hometown so he has plenty of reason to show up and show out. He's not going to have a great line to do it behind but he has a great back and an amazing set of receivers. He just needs to be tough enough to survive all the hits these young tackles are going to subject him to.

The Oline is the big issue for me. Dalton is the wrong QB to have behind a bad Oline. He handles pressure poorly.
