You may not like Scott, and that's fine.

But he's not wrong in what he says. The Cowboys are cotton soft, from top to bottom. And have been since the day Bill Parcells left Valley Ranch for the last time.

I have no trouble sacking Nolan. Go for it. But its not going to change the toxic culture of this team. Until that's solved, this team will continue to spin it's wheels

What did Bart Scott say about the ratings of Mike Nolan's defenses BEFORE he arrived in Dallas?

I hear this all the time, but how does anyone outside the organization know anything about accountability?

Because the two biggest problems with the team have the last name Jones, and they will never step back from the operation of the team. Nowhere else would a GM and Director of Player Personnel have a 25 year drought without making a championship game and keep their jobs. I think that's a pretty clear indicator that there's no accountability at the very top of the food chain, because the only thing that will remove them from their jobs is the Grim Reaper.

Those dismissing Bart Scott's comments, it's not like we haven't heard what he said from other players.
The squeezably Charmin soft Cowboys are legendary among NFL teams. I've heard these same comments since the turn of the century.

And I wish Keyshawn would SHUT UP and let Scott talk. I wanted to hear what Scott said about this marshmallow team unfiltered. I appreciate when players tell the truth about the Cowboys. I want them to continue to expose this Pillsbury dough boy culture.

I predict massacre when we play the Ravens, 49ers and Steelers. Heck, even the Eagles might gift wrap our manhood and hand it to us as early Christmas presents.

Come on man all you have to do is watch. Players stink week after week after week and nothing changes. The Owner sticks by them and defends them and gives them early contract extensions. It is unbelievable if you just open your eyes.
Prove to me that there is no discipline. And don't say you don't see it on TV.

The longer we keep losing, the more likely McCarthy and Nolan are bracketed and will be fired together

Listening to both Joneses on the fan they still clearly think right now it will get better

That's possible.

And the Jones thinking things will get better is par for the course. They wasted 10 years on Garrett always saying it would get better.......... until it never did. They just aren't very good football people IMO. They are too driven by their own egos and beliefs that they know football and there is also a stubbornness there that makes it tough for them to admit mistakes even when it's plainly obvious.

At this point, you have to hope that Jerry's grand kid knows what he's doing when he takes over in 20 years. Because that might be our only hope.

Please tell me a mike nolan defense that underachieved that had more success after he left. His last stint in Atlanta had zero talent. A lot like this garbage defense.

You should go ahead and research things before you say them.

Nolan's 2014 Falcons defense was 27th in points against and 32nd and dead last in yards against.

The very season after they fired him, the defense rose up to 14th in points against and 16th in yards.

Please tell me you aren't making excuses for Nolan. He's a bad DC. That doesn't excuse the talent as clearly there are issues but Nolan was a poor hire.

Because the 4/3 DEF has been terrible for the Cowboys and McCarthy realised immediately that we were missing out on talent (TJ Watt) because of this rigid scheme. Draft/Sign the best player available and build the scheme around them
Maybe your right , If he's that good why the he** did he hire Mike Nolan. It's not the scheme it's the coach that runs it

Bart Scott said he knows what hes doing and thats after basically saying he doesnt really care for him. And then he said everytime they played dallas they knew we were soft

Basically said the players are too dumb and soft.

Ive been saying this all season

I challenge anyone to find a pair of safeties, linebackers, and DTs worse than the ones we have here.

The players suck. Its all on tape.

I'm not here to defend Mike Nolan or anybody else.

MY point is that this team has been soft as wet tissue paper since long before Nolan arrived. And THAT problem is far beyond Nolan's ability to fix. Not that he could do it anyway. That's the point Scott was making. And I agree with it.

Yeah, the 'Nolan Effect' is undeniable. How he ever got a coordinator job again is baffling, and it reeks of a 'Good 'Ol Boy network' where coaches take care of their buddies. It was my biggest worry out of all of the offseason moves, but I hoped for the best. Clearly that was a bad idea.

They ranked 8th, 7th, and 9th over the previous three years. That ain't "soft". Bart Scott is a clueless hack who has hated the Cowboys for years. Now he takes the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon, despite not having any actual support for what he says. You go ahead and listen to him if you want, but I know who and what he truly is.

I don't think Nolan is the answer here, but Bart Scott is not wrong. The whole defense is soft, slow and dumb on the field and then whiney off of it. I thought that the vanilla defense was holding this team back all these years but it turns out that it was probably the only type of scheme that the players could actually play.

The players are clearly playing with a different amount of effort than they did under Richard and Marinelli. Is it on Nolan alone? No, but he's part of the problem. The guy has produced some of the worst defenses in the league. Why do we need a year or two to verify what we've already seen in his resume? That's the problem with this organization. We play wait and see with obvious issues and let talent waste away hoping that the guys in leadership will eventually 'get it'. Other organizations would have been cut ties with this level of performance. The players and coaches are soft because there is ZERO accountability. We just will get to hear how Jerry is angry or feeling depressed, but will finish out the year with no changes being made as the circus continues on.
