Jones forgot too...so they went and got Coop...a #4 overall pick...and still in his prime.

Did you forget that already?
What does that have to do with Romo having better talent? lol. And the only reason they did that is because their "WR by Committee" plan blew up in their faces.

Andy Dalton sucks. We won't even win a game with that turd. For those saying he would have beaten the Eagles. Dak is looking like a stud QB right now. And you can't deny it.

That isn't a complete thought.

And I deny Dak is looking like a stud.

I think you're 0-3 with one up in the air (Dalton could still suck).

You need to read your post and then mine again.

You said (paraphrase) "I don;t remember when Dak had anyone good in their prime" like Tony did.

I'm not trying to destroy any Tony argument.....I reminded you the cowboys went out and essentially got a high 1st rounder specifically for Dak.

I didnt say good. I said on their level. Sorry but Amari Cooper is not on TO level. And Dalton Shultz is not on Witten prime level. If i have to tell you that I cant help you.

And Coop doesn't have the same QB they did. If I have to tell you that I can't help you.

Which one of those great receivers you mentioned went anywhere else and did anything?

Which very average receiver looked real good with Tony (say for example...Miles? ) and did anything elsewhere?

Oh the old. Romo made players better right?

OK i can play that game too. Derek Carr (widely regarded as better than Dak) and Amari were stinking up the joint in the last season he played there. Cooper came here and instantly became the player he was before. Coincidence?

How did this devolve into a Dak v Romo argument? Look gang.. up until this season Dak had NOT reached the level of play that Romo reached at his peak. However Dak had probably surpassed that level this year. He was having a season for the ages.. Probably headed for 6000 yards, 40 TDs and 10-12 INTs. His projections were just stoopid.. like Madden numbers stoopid. This business of comparing 2016 - 2018 Dak to peak Romo is a fool's errand. Romo was better at his peak than Dak ever got to during those years except for occasional glimpses. I think in 2019 Dak took a step toward equal footing and like I said, this year I think he passed Romo up and may be taking aim at all time great level play. It remains to be seen if he stays on that trajectory but that's how I see it. Dude was flat ballin this year. I can't wait to see what he does next year.

Let's go a little slower:

come on dude....you are grasping at straws.."

First off....you are making an assumption Dak wouldn't lose a lead. How convenient.
2ndly....Andy had a rough start, sure...then played quite well. The catch....you give all the credit to Gallup...but it was actually a very good throw. He put it up high so that it practically plops down in Gallups hands if he looks up (not back). A tight rope laser beam may not have made it.

So when we talk Dak's passing methods...many people talk about "catchable"...regardless of the mechanics or precision of the throw. But HERE....well Gallup's the hero?

So you give Dak the benefit of the doubt by assuming he wins that game if not hurt...while not giving ANY credit to Dalton for what's right in front of your eyes. So imma go ahead and give this back to ya.

Ah touche!

You got ONE player......shall we start listing the wide receivers? Or do you want to stop at the Carr/Cooper connection?

No...come on tough guy...let's go. Let's start listing Tony's WR's that went to other teams and were great.

You proved my point better than I ever could thanks!

I said then that it was an illusion. I told everyone that if Dak had to start in Cleveland he would already be out of the league by now.
Dak had the best offensive line in football, the best running back in the game, and he was never pressured.
Anybody can stand behind a brick wall and calmly decide who to throw to and have success.
But even then you could tell he would get rattled if he was pressured and he became erratic with his passes.
He's an outstanding athlete, but not much of a leader as far as quarterbacks go.
He had a rookie year that veterans can only dream of, getting to play behind the best offensive line in the game.
But Garrett was so desperate to believe that Prescott would be the guy who could justify his futility as a head coach, he coddled him and the next season wouldn't even play Dak in preseason unless the entire line was in the game.
So, Dak was never exposed until later in the second year, and he has gotten considerably worse as the years wore on and teams understood how to beat him.
Last year he was the reason that the Cowboys didn't make the playoffs, choking against the Eagles when they were basically playing all backups.

This is a blind and and atrocious argument. What did the team look like the year prior with that great line...with no QB. Dak was a bus driver starting out. I agree, but he has progressed into being a top 6 or 7 qb. The line has remain decent but its not like it was, Yet hes gotten better. The defense is really bad and has been for 3 years. Now go back and look at the drops, fumbles, Dak and Martin on the 2 best players on this team and its not even close. And to say he is not much of a leader...everyone...I mean EVERYONE would say thats his best quality, but instead of being critical, what is your basis for saying hes not a good leader?

Enjoy the next 10 years of 5-11 if he leaves. You'll deserve every bit of it.

Doesn't necessarily have to be true, but we'd have to at least spend that early pick we'll have in 2021 on a quarterback. I'd prefer to pay the one we have and use the pick somewhere else where it is much needed since we have a first-round-quality QB already.

Dak disappears every time the pressure is on. He can beat the weak teams, but he chokes versus teams that have the momentum.
It's not hyperbole, we've all seen it.

Dak had an elite roster that was finally built for Romo, but we wasted five years to train the mediocre QB. So we supposed to rebuild for him, when he’s supposedly been carrying the team that needs to be rebuilt up front?
Dalton LOL :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Dak had to play under a coach, who as you said it yourself, wasn't qualified to coach a peewee team. I didn't say that. you did....yet he never had a losing record with the peewee coach...LOL
