It's a $22 mil cap hit, but, importantly, next year, the dead money would be $6 mil. Still quite a bit, but much better than the $28 mil in dead money we'd be looking at. So, it would be more doable to trade him in the 2022 offseason. We could still get a great pick. Plus, we should have Dak back next year. So, we could let him build value with Dak next season, and then try to sell.

Teams need good WRs to help young QBs, otherwise you have a Jets situation. My point is that it makes sense for NE to want Amari because they are going to get a young QB, not try to get Amari for right now.
