Not to defend Jerry on this because signing Smith was a mistake, but Jaylon's problems aren't that he doesn't give effort out there. In fact, I sometimes think he's a total spaz out there running around like a chicken without a head. Smith's problems are many - I think he doesn't have the ability to move like he did pre-injury in college. I think he lacks instincts that you need to be a great NFL LB. And I think he runs himself out of plays because he's such a spaz at times. Watch him during a play, he's bouncing all over the place like he drank five Red Bulls right before the series.
he relied on his speed and movement in college as well as a much lower competition level and played most games a a man among boys. He was all over the field.

Now, it's as if he's trying to compensate for the fact he will never be able to move like he did pre-injury because he was good in any direction. He doesn't have the recognition like Lee has so he amps up to create energy. Running every which direction gives the illusion of effort. But a lot of that is just wasted movement.

I don't know if Vander Esch is going to improve either but the Cowboys look to have 1 player in the back 7 that can play and he's a rookie so the jury is still out on him.

LOL.

Love that logic on having their game stashed to a meaningless time slot. You got bumped Jerry because your team sucks. It's not that hard to see.

I know that he doesn’t really believe this, but I’m assuming he thinks that people are really stupid enough to believe the BS he spews

It's clear that there's a lot of that going around these days.

When did they rake Dez over the coals?
Will Mcclay and Stephen trashed him after he was cut and before he was cut jerry was on the radio saying they needed more from Dez, yet we dont need more from Jaylon. Interesting

He just called Jaylon a great leader cause he's up for the Walter Payton man of the year award...he said Jaylon is basically a great leader. So for anyone wanting Parsons, just know the owner dosent think LB is an issue on this team. What a F N joke!
I thought SLee was the leader?

What team with a new head coach and new defensive scheme are winning games with as many injuries as us? I'll wait. I'm for holding this team accountable but I'm not going to be naive.
New Head Coaches for 2020 -

Panthers - Matt Rhule
Washington - Ron Rivera

Both with more wins than the Cowboys. Both with new QBs in 2020

There is no chance he fires Big Mike, but the fact that's he's even talking this much about what went wrong isn't a good sign for the coaching staff.

Singing Jaylon's praises again. Still sees great effort from team. Says many people before the season said they have the best talent in the league but regrets switching defenses before the season. So it sounds like he's ready to hold Nolan solely accountable for what we're seeing.

Said the Cowboys got flexed because they can get good ratings in any time slot (LOL). Telling the same old stories about Michael Irvin and Tex Schramm and how he'd write the biggest check in the world for another Super Bowl. Just utter nonsense....

He is not delusional. He is a liar.

So you don't see the difference between "trashing" a ex-player and not trashing a player still under contract? What sense does that make? This team made excuses for Dez when he was under contract too lol. Y'all pick some odd things to be up in arms about.

That's not what I said. I said what teams with new head coaches and a new DC with the same injuries as we have?

The Panthers are 4-8 and the Commanders are 5-7.

Those records suck.
They suck less than the Cowboys? Ok.....they still suck and haven't had nearly the injuries we have.

Right lol. You can accuse him of a lot of things....but Jerry is aware of what he's doing. And he's aware of what he has to do. He may play the "accountability" card later on...maybe in the offseason.

I just pointed out the difference when both were still on the team. You just focused on Mcclay and silver spoon part. I can easily find articles before Dez was cut with them talking real tough about Dez but Jaylon is a cornerstone.

So you are asking a question that is so specific that the answer is "nobody". That's not hard to do. It doesn't mean you have a point. The Cowboys are not the only team with a new head coach and injuries. Just because they don't have the same challenges to overcome doesn't mean the season hasn't been hard for them too. Still, they have won more than the Cowboys. I think you just want to have a pity party for the Cowboys and make excuses.

I don't want to have a pity party for the Cowboys. Let's get something straight. They are not very good. Not at all. But if we are being realistic football fans...not emotional Cowboy fans but actual football fans for a second? They were never going to succeed missing essentially their best players. Most here would agree Tyron Smith, Dak, Zack Martin are probably their 3 best players on the team. At least 3 of their top 5. Throw in La'El Collins. Throw in Gerald McCoy.

Respectively...how many games did you expect a Andy Dalton led-Dallas Cowboys to win?

I know we need to be pessimistic and beat this team up and trust I fault Nolan for the mess we're seeing but this team was destined to be bad if anyone is being realistic.

And if you want to bring up 2 bad teams in the Panthers and Redskns to prove this team should be better than go ahead. Those two teams are definitely getting better coaching but they suck just like we do. You can't have more losses than wins and claim to be good.

Googled "2017 Dez Bryant" and first article that comes up is Jerry Jones defending Dez Bryant being "emotional"....what exactly did they say about Dez that was "Trashing" him? What articles you have?

Him saying publicly that Dez needs to be better while he was on the team in comparison with Jaylon Smith comments. Trashed maybe a strong word. How about disingenuous? Inconsistent? Delusional? Those are fine too. Bottomline is Jaylon and Dez were performing at a level they werent at before being paid but Dez was the one that needs to be better and eventually got cut and Jaylon is A ok

Agree, he's got nothin' and trying to save face after all his bragging about ratings, primetime appearances and attendance. Booger actually thinks TV needs him more than he needs it. Take the Cowboys off the air and everyone chunks their TV into the nearest dumpster.

cern, you can bet your arsenal that behind the scenes there are a lot of media types laughing their butts off and his spin makes it even funnier.
You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time........lincoln
