Fans are all different, but of course you don’t comprehend that because you are a fanatic.
different is ok but insane with wanting to lose against hated rivals for non guaranteed draft pick that may or may not be bust, could be Jag, could work out. Far too many maybes.

Sorry Fans are fans to support the team..sure accepting losses for draft picks thats cool , hoping to lose and demanding losses, and saying the coaching staff and players are stupid for not losing on purpose..thats not fan not in any way shape or form because players and coaches get paid to coach and WIN GAMES. Calling them names because they wont have losers mentality like yourself. That new age fan , not true fan its modern way of looking it it..like participation trophy. Like asking a Boxer to take fall so they can make more money, or pete rose betting on baseball, and point shaving, it wont hurt anyone they say.
Umm it hurts the very fabric of sports integrity, Character, and whats sports are about..you play hard try and win and if somehow you end up with lost season you will get high enough draft picks to get great players at any spot..the drafts 7 rounds and great player scan be found in all 7 rounds and we will end up around 10-12 spot in every round and will get some very nice players..

sorry but loser talk is not a fan , you can try and back peddle try and convince me its ok to throw game, you wont win that debate its nothing but a form of cheating the games integrity..

I can accept losing but not intentional losing to gain nice picks..just like 2015 we were simply bad had great draft and we had a great bounce back year..

remember the movie Major league where the ownership tried all they could to lose the season and put together the worst team ever in order to sell the team and the players and coaches found out and it inspired them to get better and they FED that ownership and FO and won made the playoffs..that a real life scenario where coaches and players will not buy into anything with FAN TERM "TANK:"

Last year MIA finished 3-3 2-0 to close the season , hmm thats tanking? they still got their players and it shows this year, jets and Cinci just won games , doesnt look like tanking too me.. get out of here with that nonsense..teams are just that bad they lose more then they win and they get draft picks for being bad, not tanking..

have some pride, integrity, and sportsmanship.. players do, coaches do..even if the FO or owner decides to try and strip ther team of talent to get it done, it can backfire when competitions starts at kick off and pride steps up.. it shows every year teams allegedly tanking win few games to close a season out..

lol @ "two close losses". A loss is a loss. Likewise, a win is a win. Adding the word 'close' into the mix does not change any game's outcome. Let's review:

  • Personal desire: "I want the 4th-6th pick in the draft."
  • Personal expectation: "Two close losses will make that happen."
  • Personal concession: "I'm rooting for individual plays and players."

Logically, you want the franchise to select player(s) within a certain range in the upper portion of a round. You believe the team will play just well enough to not win the final two games. And you are willing to root for players to execute their assignments and convert plays but only to a specific performance level that does not convert the expected loses into unwanted wins.

In short, you want your favorite team to lose both games for a high draft pick. Cool. That's obvious.
right like zeke running wide open for TD that would be game winner is supposed to slide down right before the goal line and say oh wait we are tanking ill just take knee and lose..nice it was close and welost..NO Freaking way!!

I'm a realist. Realistically, I enjoy watching us win games more than I do watching us lose games. Losing more games isn't the key to building a winner.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather win every game and draft last than I would lose every game and get to draft first.

The best is Jerry Jones and his family removing themselves from all personnel decisions.
Your right, but that may not happen for a while, but someone on this forum did mention Jerry's daughter might do a better job than Stephen.

Wow! you have a major issue with comprehension. You read something and hear only what you want to hear. Reread my post, then rewrite your post, so it makes a little sense.

Just remember you are coming at the issue as a Fanatic, while I am coming at the issue as a Realist.

I’d rather win every game too! but in certain circumstances losing games can help you build a winner in the near future.

No.
More like in a tie game with 3 seconds to play. The other team makes the 35 yard FG.

We lost a competitive game and got one step closer to improving our team through the draft.

It would be nice being a fly on the wall watching the reaction while the scenario of Elliott scoring a game winning touchdown played out in real time. Methinks there would not be any fist pumps and cheers seen and heard within that moment lol.

With the players we have available right now we cannot consistently stop the run. We cannot consistently run the ball. We are playing our 3rd string tackles. We give up the most points in the NFL. Our defense lacks talent and does not work together because our DC is terrible.

Of course players and coaches want to win every game, because they are actually playing and coaching in the games, but fans, are sitting in their easy chairs just watching the games. Fans have the ability to root for what is best for their team’s future. Some fans, most fans are very short sighted and want instant gratification. So regardless of the circumstances,( see above: we can’t stop the run or run consistently etc.) most fans always want their team to win every game.

I’m not one of these fans. I am a realist. I realize our team has, a snow balls chance in hel_ of making a run in the playoffs. I’m willing to delay my gratification this year, when it comes to team wins, ( I cheer for individual plays and players) to improve our chances of winning a Super Bowl in the future.

If we lose our last 2 games, hopefully in competitive games, we still have a chance for the 4th pick in the draft according to Tankathon stats. ( Carolina needs to beat Washington=50/50, Atlanta needs to beat Tampa Bay=50/50, Houston needs to beat the Bungles=90/10

If we win 1 more game we will be picking between 10-13.

We need the 4th or 5th pick in the draft to give us more options( trade back, etc. ). We need new starters from the draft because we won’t be able to afford many Free Agents. We will come back strong next year with a healthy team and a bunch of early round draft picks!

Losing a couple close games now, helps our team win BIG in the future. Don’t settle for late season wins, (this makes Jerry so happy) which really do hurt our future!

Are you a Realist or a Fanatic?
This is sad. Why do fans value a slightly higher draft pick over winning? My guess is they have never led anything more than a girl scout troop in their life. Asking players and coaches to quit is the dumbest thing I have ever read on these forums.

Great perspective!

Just curious. With a loss we are one step closer to a top 5 pick. With a win, we will move out of the 8-9 pick, and into the 12-14 range, and possibly miss out on Nixon and the top CB. We really need the best DT and CB we can get.

What are you thinking if the other team has a 30 yard FG to win the game? In the game we recovered 3 unforced fumbles( luck ) and our D got run all over. They are not playoff caliber. They can’t run the ball or stop the run.

Will you be rooting for the 5th pick in the draft or the 12-14? Remember the best DT and best CB will be gone at picks 12-14!

I'm honestly not concerned with the draft spot. Nothing is a guarantee, if it was 100% selecting 5 overall would get us a HOF player then sure but Claiborn was a very high pick 6th overall if not mistaken. Would I quit on a game for him? hell no. There is no certainty and most of all with the NFL draft.

You also have issues with reading comprehension.

Did I say anything about players and coaches quitting? Never!

I realize it is difficult to take off your Fanatic’s hat, but try it. Think about what I posted without getting emotional.

How I am as a fan, a realistic fan, has nothing to do with how I competed in sports. Fanatics have a hard time separating their life on the soft sofa as a fan, and their life on the field, as a player or coach.

Your thinking about 1 game with a fatally flawed an injured team. I’m thinking about a better future( due to much higher draft picks in every round) with a healthy and more talented team that can actually compete for a Super Bowl title.
Have a Merry Christmas!

I will have a merry Christmas. I have seen enough top 5 bust in my life time to know there is nothing sure about the draft Dallas will draft where ever they end up really not concerned with that. As for you being a realist and other being fanatics? you are a realist because you believe in what you are saying but not does make that realistic. Sell that load to someone else. If we do not think as you are fanatics? lol whatever

Right

We’ve had a few good drafts . But too many misses , especially on defense , to make more noise.

And then when we’ve actually had a better draft we often waste high picks on injury or problem risk like Gregory and Van Esch.

Or a high pick on RB which no one uses anymore , or using a high pick on a position which isn’t a priority like WR. Not to mention all of the bust on high picks like Taco, Clairborne and Escobar.
