Andy Dalton seems to be on a good streak this Kellen gun offense and 3 game win streak ,, seem like he's gain great confidence and rhythm en route to big plays in pass game

this could make him look more attractive in the FA market .. teams like the Pats, ..or Washington that could have really used him

His age (33 yrs) will be something going against him long term. but i could see Pats signing him as a stopgap starter until a a grooming young buck draftee is ready to take the wheels

He's like a Ryan Fitzpatrick

:D

LMAO.. Dalton finally has a great game and this? Come on man.. At least 200 of Dalton's yards yesterday came from guys breaking tackles and taking off. The only exception was the TD to Lamb.. where the DB came up to jam an then couldn't figure out what he was supposed to do if he whiffed on it. LOL! If he repeats this against the G-men then we can talk.. but he had been decidedly pedestrian until yesterday. Still we know there is never enough good QBs to go around in the NFL so some team is going to pay him 8 figures next year for that reason alone. And I don't know if I like the Ryan Fitzpatrick comp. Seems like Fitz is far more hot and cold than Dalton.

What would Dalton look like with Tyron, Collins, Martin, Biadasz, and Williams?

That question is being asked among coaches. Will Jerry listen?

Without Dak, you could go on a spending spree on defense in free agency along with the draft.

Don't make the same mistake Houston and others did.
Dalton is 33. Either has to be a drafted QB or Dak.

Daks the better qb but i wish he threw to spots like dalton does

You mean like Dalton did for the first time yesterday.. You do realize that throwing for a higher completion percentage and a lower INT percentage would tend to indicate that Dak is better at throwing to his spots than Dalton is right? And even after his big day yesterday Dalton is still throwing for almost two yards (1.7) less per attempt than Dak was.. The only thing I wish for Dak to be better at would be figuring out how to get the defense to play better like it has the last 5-6 weeks.

lol ..and once again your tunnel vision has it just focusing on just one game instead of the body of work, i'm talking about dalton's work in general this year - including this 3 win streak. Like it or not as a backup he's put up 30 to 40 points in this win streak - Anyone would Love their backup QBs to produce as such.

-Whether NFL teams want that stopgap aging QB as a starter, that's another matter. Its up to them.
i use an backup comparison with the NFL active Ryan Fitzpatrick ,..another thread used Steve Beurlein as comparison, ..another former backup QB could
be Jon Kitna who put up 31 avg per game in Romo's injury replacement. And the irony is Kitna also was a ex- Cincy starting QB as well.

But it was clear that Kitna was at a stage where he's a backup and he came to accept that.

-Frankly i see dalton as a backup type too. An Jon Kitna type.... and would still love to have him as a backup, but when you see the issues some teams are having with starting QBs, ..Tribusky, Foles, Tua in Miami, New England with Newton,..Denver ...Washington ..Niners i'm simply saying i can see Dalton
trying to see what's out there on the FA market - even as a 33 yr old stopgap.

How old are Wilson, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Cousins, Roethlisberger......?
With the exception of Cousins those are all guys that did a lot more prior to age 33 than Dalton did. Dalton isn't suddenly going to reach their level at this point.

They didn't play for the worst and cheapest franchise in the NFL.

He's playing as well as Dak at 1/5th the price.
He's played 1 game as well as Dak, he's 6 years older than Dak, and he is at 1/5 the price because he was released by Cincy very late and had no chance to sign with a team that would allow him to compete for a backup job.

.... Dalton's stock is going up, so yeah likely he finds another starter home somewhere else. Then who knows, might want to stay.

The obvious point was that you are comparing Dalton at 33 to QB's who had proven themselves to be superstars before age 33. Sure circumstances aren't identical, but having actual proof does matter. The fact Cincy wasn't always strong doesn't automatically mean Dalton can do what those guys did after age 33.

Like it or not, the reality is it is much easier to give a QB the benefit of the doubt as he ages when he has proven a great deal to that point than it is with a QB that hasn't proven as much. Sure circumstances can be factored in, but there is no substitute for actual proof.

Dalton is a middle of the pack QB and always has been. He rose about that a bit on Sunday due to our superstar trio of receivers but he didn't magically become a franchise QB. Dak is a franchise QB, despite what all the naysayers amongst Cowboys fandom say.

The FO didn’t say it either. He would have been signed If it was true.

Dak is just as average as Dalton is.

And Dalton was throwing dimes yesterday. That was a good day for him.

What? Im not talking about yards per attempt.

Im saying dalton throws it to a spot before the receiver is there.
