Exactly what has Dak accomplished to warrant being included with those guys? Dak has had a team around him since he came into the league and all the help he could get and yet the farthest he has gone in the playoffs is a loss to the Rams in the division round.

One thing you should do is, stop grading Dak on the careers of HOF'ers, that are now on the decline. Since 2016, Dak has been one of the top five QB's in the league, without doubt. All QB's, have a team around them, but coaching and preparation plays a big part in playoff success. Dak has his flaws, but having a winning attitude and leadership, is not one of them. His success depends on him taking over the offense. He allows the defense to dictate his offensive moves, when he should be manipulating the defense. Until he grasps that level of maturity, he will just be a good QB with a few playoff wins.

It’s a Cowboys message board so the bar for Dak is low.

Dak goes as the team goes and has about the same overall impact on a game as a guy like Dalton does.

We can do better than Dalton and we can get similar or better than Dak for cheaper.

Which teams did he do that to? How many of those games did he win?

It doesn’t matter whom he did it to, this is the NFL. Being able to routinely put up 30+ ppg and 450+ ypg is incredibly impressive.

It’s also something that Andy Dalton has only done once since he became the starter, and Andy played some prettty lousy *** teams during this stretch as the starter.

But please, I’d love to hear more excuses from the Dak haters. It’s very entertaining!

Because daks solo stats haven’t equated to wins. Daltons have. Period.
Lol What????? You’re saying Andy Dalton has been the reason for this 4 game win streak and NOT the improved defense that has led the NFL in takeaways over the last 5 weeks??? Or the improved O Line and running game with both Tony Pollard and Zeke?? No you are correct, let’s just ignore those recent developments and trends- they are meaningless!! It’s all the Red Rifle! He is the messiah!

If you say Dalton does it against bad teams while ignoring the Dak does it against bad teams you’re just being biased..

In 2019 people were bragging about Daks stats and half of his touchdowns came against 3 teams picking top 5.

His stats this year came against bad pass defenses that he had a large amount of volume against while we were playing catch up.

We beat bad teams with Dak and Dalton.

We lose to good teams with Dak and Dalton.

Football is a team sport remember? You want to pay Dak while also building a super roster? Good luck.

Dalton didn’t have Zack the whole time, but he also had a Terrence Steele, Brandon Knight, and McGovern with more experience and, frankly, higher playing ability than they had earlier in the season. And Why hasn’t Dalton put up said “garbage time” stats that Dak did?? All I hear is excuses from Dak haters.

All I hear are falsehoods from people trying to prop up Dak. Blatant lying to try and pretend Dak didn't have a better situation. An absolute willful ignorance of how drastically different their game situations were.

Dalton could have, in a worse situation, the exact identical stats as Dak, with the exception of one less passing yard, and Dak guys would still rather pay him an additional 20 million a year (I'm sure they'd be good with 35 million more per if Dalton would make that little going forward). It's Dak over team with them.

Being down by 27 in the 4th is garbage time. Don't play stupid.
being down by a score in the 4th is called having a chance to win...don't play stupid.

and the difference is Dak was able to rally the team in the 4th down that many and make it close (until the defense gave up a 50 yard run to a WR, or a 50 yard TD pass).

Dalton laid down and played dead....

so again, which do you prefer being down 30 with 3 minutes to go? or being down one score with 3 minutes to go?

Ah, so Dak put his team in a position to win, but threw INTs twice, while in a position to win... or they were just meaningless hail Mary’s, as a result of meaningless yards and points while getting blown out, aka stat padding in garbage time...

Andy has thrown INTs, meaningless ones at that, because he’s throwing the ball in the end zone, aka while actually winning. That’s why during this win streak and he has finally gotten some consistent line play he has 13 TDs to 4 INT.
ok, I will explain this really really really slowly, I am typing really really really slowly so you can perhaps follow.

you made up a story about Dak's interceptions causing the team to be down in the games and having to come back...I just told you, two interceptions came in the last seconds.....in hail mary... so only two interceptions in 5 games in the middle of the game...capish?

and I find it interesting that you are now faulting Dak to not be able to make a hail mary pass into a TD...interesting spin on your part...so I guess for you we set the bar for Dak in the sky, and put the bar on the floor (perhaps bury it in the ground) for Dalton so he can hop over it.

Andy has thrown 7 interceptions in the middle of the game.....none were a hail mary. he couldn't get the team in position against average teams at that to even attempt a hail mary....

so are you going to lie again? or should I just point you the play by plays and see it for yourself?

1. Rodgers
2. Mahomes
3. Brees
4. Brady
5. Wilson
6. Allen
7. Jackson (May get flack for this but he is a below average passer but an excellent runner)
8. Big Ben
9. Ryan
10. Prescott / Watson
11. Watson / Prescott
I wouldn't put Ryan there. he is pretty washed up.
I wouldn't big ben as his time is coming to a fast close. the pittsburgh D is doing all the work.

I am on the fence with Jackson. I have always been on the fence. I do not like running QBs....in the NFL you learn to pass from the pocket, or roll out and make throws. scrambling QBs like him are gimmiky and won't last in the NFL much. He is not as good a passer as he is runner......that's why as dangerous as he maybe running, I don't put him in the top 10.

at this point brady and brees are older and probably on their way out in the next couple of years...

Allen has had one decent year......is he top 10? based on his play this year....but that's one year......I do like him though....

As I’ve pointed out only 3 QBs have ever been tagged. Brees-Cousins and Dak. The other 2 were released from the team that tagged them.
All 3 teams FO planned for it and all 3 had a vet brought in or just flat out drafted the replacement. With Brees it’s eerily similar.
Brees started and then like clockwork, had a season ending injury because he processed the game slow, John Lynch broke him over his knee, sending him to IR and Rivers took over never looking back.
DAL didn’t just “happen” to fall into Dalton.
NE and JAX we’re trying to sign him.
DAL knew that a scenario like this in some capacity was going to happen and they prepared for it.

I guess primary plan is to sign Dak and build defense. secondary plan if they don't sign Dak is to Tank and shoot for the top 3 pick

I’m hearing that not only will the cap not go up this year, but it might not go up the following year either. It could just be negative Nancy’s but it’s not looking good for next year for sure.
We’re in a kind of holding pattern and I don’t think DAL can afford him anyways, regardless of what we think of him.
The fact he changed agents and went with a cutthroat guy tells everyone what this is about. He’s not coming down on his price and DAL already franchised him. I just think it’s fairly obvious that Daks camp are using the Cousins playbook on this. They know there are teams with boatloads of cap space out there.
where are you hearing this? are you connected to NFL FO?

And what you failed to mention about the 2019 game is that Elliott got all of 47 yards rushing, Pollard fumbled the ball away on the Cowboys 19 yard line, the receivers had 5 drops on 3rd downs and Prescott was sacked twice on 3rd downs. Prescott didn't have one of his better games and Dalton had his ONLY good game on this years eagles game.
.
.
the only reason Dalton had a good game was Cooper being a magician and running 70 yards on a short slant....if not for that...another average game by Dalton....a

and lets not forget Defense gettign 9 turnovers in 3 games...I can't recall the cowboys defense ever got 9 turnovers in a 3 game span...

Your plan didn’t happen though.
Dak was tagged. Like Brees. Like Cousins.
A vet was brought in. And now the vet is playing....

Surmising about what you hope happens and what actually is happening seems to be clouding some folks here.

First....these are your top five and I’d like to know who Mosley is bumping.

Mahomes
Rogers
Wilson
Allen
Tannehill - 70% completions 35 TDS 8 INTs and only Mahomes has a higher EPA than him. The guy is elite. Maybe Dak can emerge like he has.

Then Dak gets in with
Stafford - Watson - Jackson - Brady - Mayfield - Cousins

Personally I think Dak is more effective than both Ben and Brees at this stage of their careers.

Here’s where the separation comes. A healthy running Dak is absolutely a top ten QB.

A timid or less effective running Dak after surgery is absolutely not.

His value comes with running and passing and not in passing. This is why I do not consider Dak elite.
stafford...really? he is one of the most over rated QBs ever.......and he is older. injury prone. his stat against winnign teams is 7-56.

Mayfield is very very average......very inaccurate. still can't read defenses.

cousins is average and on his way down. he folds in critical times and in critical games. can't rally the team around him...

I am on the fence with Jackson. he is dangerous. as a runner. his passing is way behind his running. I do not like running QBs.....he won't last if he keeps doing this....

like I said, the vet is playing, because of injury to starter, not because he earned it....... team is barely getting by with this vet. no way in hell he is the future.....

and again, if we can't sign Dak in 2021 (perhaps that's the part you misunderstood), and rolling the dice with Dalton, then I guess the plan for next year is to start tanking.....

and I am hoping Dak gets resigned next year.....
