Dalton has been great in Dallas, however I don't know how much leverage we really have because if we don't pay Dak, somebody else most definitely will. I'm glad we signed Dalton on the off-season however, he has been amazing for us.
I could see the Commanders throwing a ton of money his way.

the only reason Dalton had a good game was Cooper being a magician and running 70 yards on a short slant....if not for that...another average game by Dalton....a

and lets not forget Defense gettign 9 turnovers in 3 games...I can't recall the cowboys defense ever got 9 turnovers in a 3 game span...

You forgot Lamb's catch and run for a TD and Gallup who started those big gains. Oh I don't think Dalton had a great game but it was good and the ONLY good game he's had in Dallas.

About as fair as it gets. Hard to compare 2 QB's if they aren't on the same team. But even though they are, the OL with Dak is completely different than the OL with Dalton. Add that Dak has been in this system for years while Dalton has learned on the fly with no training camp and almost no reps till dak got hurt.
So if you go by the last 6 starts. All of Dalton's wins are against losing teams.

Both Cooper and Gallup turned short throws into long gains.. Gallup's was actually a WR screen behind the line of scrimmage.. it was a 69 yard play but he had to run 72... Coops long one was just a dude making a play but credit to Dalton for good ball placement .. The Lamb TD was a throw pretty much any high school QB can make. Take your drop and let the ball fly when the back foot hits. Pitch and catch. But let's not ding a guy for flawless execution just because it was an easy throw. We have seen plenty of QBs miss that throw by not putting enough air under it or air mailing it out of bounds.

like I said, the vet is playing, because of injury to starter, not because he earned it....... team is barely getting by with this vet. no way in hell he is the future.....

and again, if we can't sign Dak in 2021 (perhaps that's the part you misunderstood), and rolling the dice with Dalton, then I guess the plan for next year is to start tanking.....

and I am hoping Dak gets resigned next year.....

Yeah, your just like the Cousins fans in WASH. Like the Brees fans in SD. I get it.
Then Alex Smith was brought in. Then SD traded for Rivers. Then Dalton was signed.

That’s actually a really good point.
What are Daks stats vs teams with winning records and teams with losing records?

Do you mean teams that had winning records when we played them or if they finished with a winning record? And how do you handle it if they WOULD have had a winning record if Dak and the Cowboys had not beaten them?

Just teams that had a winning record that he played and teams that had a losing record that he played.

Dak is obviously the better quarterback however Dalton has played better than most would have expected.

Took him awhile to get accustomed to the team, new playbook, and get in sync with his recievers but has looked great the last couple of games. Granted we have played horrible teams and continues to be a statue in the pocket but what do you expect from a backup quarterback with no OL. I think he adjusted just fine.

As long as he doesn't turn the ball over its a positive lol

All I hear are falsehoods from people trying to prop up Dak. Blatant lying to try and pretend Dak didn't have a better situation. An absolute willful ignorance of how drastically different their game situations were.

Dalton could have, in a worse situation, the exact identical stats as Dak, with the exception of one less passing yard, and Dak guys would still rather pay him an additional 20 million a year (I'm sure they'd be good with 35 million more per if Dalton would make that little going forward). It's Dak over team with them.

Your plan didn’t happen though.
Dak was tagged. Like Brees. Like Cousins.
A vet was brought in. And now the vet is playing....

Surmising about what you hope happens and what actually is happening seems to be clouding some folks here.
I am not sure if you have reading comprehension issues. you are trying sooooo hhaaarrrdddd to spin...but you are failing really bad at it...

as said before, in the message, if you read instead of jumping to just trying to spin things.........2021 plans...if we can't resign Dak and then go with Dalton then the plan is to tank, no way in hell we win anything in the future with Dalton...

as you are so vehemently trying to spin things....and make it my 2020 plan (you failed)....We actually did resign Dak....on a franchise Tag....and Dalton was the back up....strengthen a position of weakness in back up QB...no one PLANNED for Dak to get season ending injury......as a result we are 6-9.....we suck obviously...because the vet is playing....

You are what you are 4-2 is better than 3-3. I would also give Dalton a lot of credit for the Giants win coming in cold and throwing 9/11 for 111 yards and no ints.
that's the job of a back up QB....come in and pick up pieces.....he did lose the 8 point lead he was gifted and if not for Gallups heroic catch, it would have been an utter disaster.....

I didn’t look it up

I did.. here goes..

2016 wins against winning teams - Packers, Eagles, Vikings, Ravens, Steelers, Lions, Bucs
losses - Giants twice, Philly (game he only played one series)
7-3

2017 wins - Eagles, Chiefs,
losses - Chargers, Eagles, Rams, Seahawks, Falcons
2-5 ouch (Also beat the Cardinals who were 8-8 and WOULD have had a winning season if not for the Cowboys. )

2018 wins Saints, Eagles(2),
losses Seattle, Houston, Titans, Colts
3-4

2019 wins - Eagles, Rams,
losses - Saints, Bears, Eagles, Bills, Vikings, Packers, Patriots
2-7 - Offense scored at least 24 points in 4 of the losses.

2020 no wins
losses - Rams, Seahawks, Browns
0-3 - Offense put up over 30 points in two of the losses.

That leaves Dak 14-22 for his career against teams that finished with winning records. That has to change.. The good news for us is that if the defense stops being a sieve and Dak can keep piloting the offense to 35 ppg it will. What this tells me is that we've been a middle of the pack team the last three years.. as evidenced by our record. We are better than bad teams but not as good as the best teams. Given that the defense has given up at least 28 points in 6 of the last 9 losses over they last two seasons my take would be that improving the offense isn't what needs to happen for us to join the NFL elite. We need the defense to show up more consistently. Yes Dak and the offense can play better.. but the offense has been good to great with greater frequency than the defense has. The defense has been downright putrid far too many times.. even in the wins this year they have gotten worked for the most part. Focusing on Dak's shortcomings real or imagined while that's going is a fool's errand IMHO. Unless we can bulk him up and put him at linebacker, Dak can't do anything to make the defense any better. And if Moore continues to think passing 70% of the time is the winning formula, our offense will not control the clock to protect our horrible defense..

Don’t forget got to the play-offs all four times in a much more difficult division, when the rules were not as lax as they are now for passing.
more difficult division? with browns and you are touting a QB for his performance 10 years ago...totally irrelevant to what is happening today. are you that desparate?
