apparently 5 games over .500 for Daks career says hes no different..and?
13-3 is like a century ago. Regression anyone? more yards less wins and now injurys prone..yup hes special all right..
Dak is a smart guy. His agent is working for him not the other way around. When Dak signed with France a few years ago I was thinking Dak is trying to improve his brand. Dak seems love his teammates and we saw how much the team loves him. This contract is business to him. Dak wants to get it right. France knows the cap is going to jump in a few years with the television deal. The 50 million dollar a year is coming within the next two seasons.I don't think the demand for the short term deal is really Dak's idea. I think it's the agent's. France is trying to build his brand. Every time he negotiates a "highest paid playing yadda yadda yadda" deal he gains 2 dozen clients. If Dak signs a long term deal he doesn't get to dip back into that well soon enough for his tastes. I believe if it were up to Dak he would sign a 10 year deal and never have to go through this crap again. He wants to be here.. the team wants him here. It should not be this hard. The only fly in the ointment is the agent.. Dak already has financial freedom. Depending on what source you believe he is making between 10 and 20 million in endorsements this year alone. Even if it's the low end number he's set for life. So that aint it. What Dak and his agent need to realize is that if you sign a short term deal and something goes awry.. Dak gets hurt.. Dak gets covid .. a new coach comes in and the team goes to hell.. That new deal he would want in 3 years might be a lot less than what he can get now. If the team does go sub .500 the next three years 40 million a year turns into Cam Newton/Jameis Winston money. And the kicker is, Dak could play really well but the team could be so bad it doesn't make a difference. As I keep saying, if he doesn't see and understand that a short term deal that screws up the cap also means he gets to play with crappier teammates then I don't want him here anyway. I have no desire to watch him put up great numbers while going 7-9.

take away that season umm i was clear about that..what have you done for me lately.. noones is allowing zeke to use his rookie year as a NOW evaluation..whats the DC record the last 32 games daks started? thats all that matters because if you say that team record and not the qb then the 42-27 become moot as well ..sticky slope we stand on with stats , isnt it..Not only are you bad at QB evaluation you are also apparently bad at math.. Dak is 42-27 as a starter.. That's um.. lemme see.. carry the 1.. divide by 12.. yeah.. 15 games over .500 for Dak's career. Nice try.. thanks for playing..

Why do people think the Rams had to trade #1's to get rid of Goff? Was this confirmed? Because to my knowledge the Rams could've cut Goff without giving up anything.....
...and what is Dak from 2017-2020???? That's right.....carry the 1....divide by 12......yeah, 29-24....that's barely 2 games above .500. Nice try....thanks for playing.

Brother you know it’s a business first Dak is not worried about us fans. He is the quarterback of the most popular franchise in the world. He is making sure he has a say in how his career goes. Dak thinks that in 3 years he will be worth 50 million a year. He wants to be a free agent at that time or you have to pay him not to give up his freedom. Dak believes he is on Mahomes level.Let's hope he is.. But he needs to realize that the agent is not necessarily working in his best interests. Hamstringing the team against the cap does not benefit Dak in the long run. It benefits the agent. Because he gets to dip back into Jerry's and Dak's pockets again in three years if they sign the short deal. And he gets to have his name in lights for having signed the highest paid blah blah blah twice instead of just once if Dak signs long term. Yes it's business.. but the main business is winning football games. Screwing up the team's cap is bad business. Period.
Dak believes he is on Mahomes level.
You would be surprised with what athletes think. I have a cousin who played for KState. He believes to this date if he did not injure his knee he would have been a pro. Keep in mind he had a sprained knee and was not drafted. He had a few tryouts but never made it. Athletes have strong will power. No one seriously believes that. Not even a low key fade Zeke believes that. Not enough drugs or alcohol for someone to believe that.
So you get to draw the line wherever it favors your argument and pretend anything that doesn't favor your argument never happened. Okay got it.. At least now we know the rules..

You do the same as you would do with any other player you're not happy with. Release him when the dead money is manageable. The Rams chose not to do that.
I think part of the reason the Lions got so much for Stafford may not be because they think so highly of him. Or that the bidding even reached that level. They probably threw another 1st rounder in there to take Goff's contract. Dead money would have been a lot higher had they cut Goff.
No, Zach Martin is better. And Cooper. Then he's up in 2025, if the deal doesn't get renegotiated before then and why only focus on the downside of this.
What if he's successful? All of the hand wringing assumes he's going to regress when he's been the best player on the entire team. I am not saying he is elite or top 5 but he is the top 1 Cowboy. He is the best player on the team and only idiots let the best player go.
If they do not address the support with the D, what difference does it make who they pay to play QB? Brady, Mahomes or Rodgers wouldn't have done anything with a defense this bad. It was the worst in team history, worse than any year where the record was worse than 6-10, how in the hell is that a QB problem?
Pass happy teams don't win super bowls. (Short passing O's such as Brady's being the lone exception)Rules are that what has Dak done since his rookie 13-3 season anomaly? As Parcells would say: your record is what it says you are......and Dak is barely above .500 in 3-1/3 seasons.....and Dallas is getting worse not better with having Dak be a pass happy QB.
Since there's a salary minimum, it's not true about the owner's liking their money being a factor. That is completely irrelevant. The dead money is only relevant as it pertains to being able to sign other players to improve the team. The Rams could have cut Goff before June 1 but they would have to eat $60M in dead money and incur a $30M cap hit for 2021. The cap is one thing but there is real money involved for the owner. No owner wants to flush $60M real dollars down the toilet. Yes, these owners are billionaires but they like their money just like we do. The $30M cap hit would mean the team only has $150M to spend on players while other teams have $180M. If the Rams cut Goff they could not bring Stafford in at his salary of $20M for 2021.
The Goff contract was hamstringing the Rams. To get rid of Goff and the contract, the Rams had to offer something of value. Needed a team willing to pick up Goff and his $43M guaranteed, $60M contract for the next two years. Hence the extra first round pick. No team was taking Goff and his contract without high draft picks.
Trading Goff nets the Rams $12M in cap space for 2021. That is what the Rams paid for.
The Eagles and Wentz are in the same position due to Wentz’s contract.
The Stealers are in a similar position with Ben. $41M cap hit for 2021. Cut him and $26M accelerates as dead money cap hit. Extending him kicks the can down the road which is tough because Ben is at the end. Time to pay the piper.
Bad contracts are a killer. Just like real estate. Sometimes the only exit strategy is to eat a loss.
Rams might be having some cash flow problems too. 2020 was not kind to any team. LA is not a profitable area for football and business.
