Give me a tall pure pocket passer a good RB and a good defense. Every multiple Superbowl winning QB since '95 has been a tall pure pocket passer with a good RB and had a good defense.
Eli
Payton
Ben
Brady
Elway
I don't want a Superbowl I want several Superbowls. I want a dynasty.
You must be disqualified from this discussion for characterizing Elway and Ben as "pure pocket passers." While neither was ever Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson or even Steve Young, both were known for their movement skills in and out of the pocket especially early in their careers. Hell the most iconic play of Elway's career was a run were he got lit up and turned into a helicopter.. Having mobility does not disqualify a QB from winning multiple Super Bowls.. Not having a good running game and a good defense does.. Unfortunately what often happens with mobile QBs is their front office sees their mobility as an excuse not to invest in offensive line. It happened to Cunningham and McNabb in Philly, Vick in ATL, Romo in Dallas (until the latter part of his career) and it's happening to Wilson in Seattle and Rodgers in GB. Crappy offensive line not only gets the QB hit too much but also costs him a decent run game so it snowballs from there.
