Only Dak apologists like you talk about stats for QB success

To me and most Cowboys fans “success” means getting to the playoffs and winning in the playoffs and getting to and winning CCGs and SBs

This team with Dak has made the playoffs 2 out of 4 seasons (not counting 2020 although the team had a horrible record with Dak as QB)

1 playoff win in 4 years starting

ZERO CCGs or SBs

that’s NOT success
If you want to do this. Go look at the defensive stats in our playoff games with Dak under centre.

Byron Jones cost us a NFCCG not dak.
Our run defense cost us a NFCCG not Dak.

you can point the pitchfork at Dak all you want but he hasn’t been the constant problem on this team. I can go back to 2014 when this teams defense allowed a one legged Aaron Rodgers to pick them apart.

What would daks record be in the playoffs if Byron Jones doesn’t lose Jared Cook?
Elite throw by Rodgers.
Prescott had the ball in his hands on a game winning drive with a TD to win the game and a field goal to take it to over time. Yet he couldn't score the TD and by spiking the ball he left too much time on the clock for Rodgers to win it in regulation and he gave the Packers defense (out on its knees) a much needed rest and a better chance of preventing the TD. To be fair that's also on the coaching but those are the plays which explain why a rookie QB has never won a Superbowl for a moment like that. An experienced QB would have kept the drive going when the defense was gassed out as they would know all the plays in every situation and not need to effectively take a time out and run through the play book.

When one runs out of originality, do the crazy flapping arms dance.
well that IS the point here. Sturm will essentially look a fool if nothing happens by his prediction or hunch...or people will be dancing in the streets lol...the caveat being...if they are Dak fans. I highly doubt he gets signed by Thursday...unless Sturm has some kind of inside info no one else has.

I'm pretty positive if I look at the game logs Dak was a no-show till the start of the 4th Q again?

Oh, c'mon. 8:30? Really. We all know it's gonna be no sooner than 10:00 and possibly as late as noon.

Thats on coaching. And you can shift blame to anyone you want. Byron Jones should have known his assignment. Why does he get absolved?

Oh no, the Daksters just got their little hearts broken with this news and they were all up in everyone's face....lol
More than likely it'll be the Haters who have 5 years to cry.
That's all this really is, another legit football guy saying as all legit football guys do that Dak is valuable and Dallas would be crazy not to sign him.
Dak is far more likely to end up doing commercials with Jake from State Farm than he is of leaving Dallas.

What matters with the cap is this year. If he’s tagged thats 37-40 million all against the cap as opposed to a long term deal that can make that number 20 million. That means there won’t be any room for meaningful free agents on defense and will be more cuts on current players that may ha e otherwise factored into the future.

Maybe not, but first of all I don't want a bunch of free agents, Dallas has shown they haven't a clue how to do that, just stick with the draft. Not that the Cowboys have had tremendous success in the draft, but it's better than their free agent selections.

But even if you want to get free agents, the same old "there's no money for free agents/signing the players you want" has been shown time and again simply not to be true. The Saints are supposedly like $110 mil over the cap, but will you see them sign no free agents and cut half the team? No, the cap is so convoluted, and has so many options that just very seldom happens, and if it does it's because they want to change up the team just because they aren't winning SBs. Like in the Cowboys, case, there's an easy $1.22 mil savings available simply but cutting Chris Jones, Niswander did at least as good a job as Jones was doing. And that's just one player, there are others that could be cut that you don't want anyway, there are restructures available, etc.

Third, the cap was assumed to be $175 mil for months, then in the last few weeks it's now apparently going to be $180, and just yesterday on PFT Florio indicated he's been told it'll be more like $182-3 mil. The "Cowboys can't pay Dak $37.6 mil" was based originally on the $175 mil figure, so if the $182 mil is accurate, there may be another $7 mil "extra" available towards Dak's tag figure, at least $5 mil..

And the Cowboys knew for the past couple of years there was going to be a ton of free agents this year, undoubtedly some of them were going to be released or cut, they couldn't have signed all of them even if they wanted to, and some they didn't want anyway.

Yes there is work to be done on the cap, and not saying the Cowboys won't let some players go that they'd like to keep, or won't be able to target several high-priced free agents they covet. But it's not guaranteed doom and gloom for the Cowboys this year, player-wise, there are things that can happen, and I'm better will happen.

Hang it there!

Sorry! not in the games that matter. History doesn't lie.
If Byron Jones doesnt lose his assignment. Dak Prescott would have completed one of the best comebacks in history and had us in our first NFCCG since Troy Aikman. Dak has done his part in almost every game that has mattered. Including a playoff game against Seattle. So please stop with this nonsense.

You do realize that the game was tied when the Packers got the ball back, right? If Jones makes the play, the game goes to OT, where all bets are off. No guarantee of anything outcome wise, especially if the Packers were to have won the coin toss in that scenario.

We would have had a chance wouldn't we? What else do you want? Lets not forget we were down big and who led us back? If Scott and Jason didnt get cute and stuck to the same game plan we used against GB earlier in the season (running Zeke down their throats to the tune of 200 plus yards on the ground) it wouldnt have mattered.

You made my point exactly. Dak is not a game difference maker and if you don't blow the cap on him, Jerry could buy a better OL and Defense. If you don't have a Brady or Rogers, you have to have a
championship defense. KC found that out in this year's SB. If Jerry pays Dak, expect 10 more years of ineptitude and losses.

stop cherry picking time periods

I’m talking about his whole career

go ahead and compare to the entire career of Peyton or Wilson

that’s not the point anyway, you said Dak has had a lot of success, not really. He has led his team to a lot of mediocrity and nothing more and has himself folded under pressure
so in your opinion, the Dak 5 year in the league should be compared to wilson's 9, and manning's 18 years....

or a logical person would say compare the first 5 years. or compare the last few years, etc.....

you totally lack in logic.
