I don't disagree with you, but under McClay they target elite athletes. Out of the top 3, Farley is the clear-cut best athlete out of the group. He may run in the 4.2 range. Virginia Tech isn't a small program, no it's not the SEC, but it isn't Tulsa, either
Again, you are 100% correct in that they love athletic profiles and SPARQ scores generally.
But I'm not sure that's all they love.
And they will let Quinn have a say in athletic profile here.
ATL took AJ Terrell last year and he was long, but lean and with solid 4.2 speed but lacked explosiveness with only a 34.5 vert.
He wasn't a SPARQ darling.

Quinn's best ever CB? Richard Sherman.
Also long and lean with only 4.54 speed.

So I'm not sure the CB profile will be about SPARQ or speed as much as being tall and proven in coverage scheme they want to deploy. C1/C3.

I think Farley will check the most boxes out of the top 3 corners. He is going to have elite size, length and speed. I think Atlanta was also hoping Henderson slid to them last year.

Terrell isn't long, arms are only 31.25
I don't think Quinn had much say in atlanta with Dimitroff as GM, especially last year when Raheem Morris was running the defense.

Farley may be the #1 defender on the Cowboy board but that does not mean he is the 1st or 10th player on their board. What if Dallas has 12 other guys which would be offensive guys ahead of him.

I do believe Farley will be the team's #1 defensive player on their board, but it doesn't mean they will draft him. I get this sneaky suspicion that Pitts will be their #1 target, followed by Farley, then Slater.
Farley’s injury history has to check out. The Cowboys have the best medical staff in the league. If we pass on Farley I think he will slide down the board. I just don’t see Pitts getting past the Eagles. He would be the perfect receiver for Hurts because of his catch radius.

So when we added Lamb it was "fortyburger."

Add Pitts and its what? Fiftyburger?

Its doesnt work that way.

The defense isn't just not good, its absolutely atrocious.

Also.....please tell me about tight ends drafted high in NFL history?

Ebron? Hockenson? Winslow Jr?

Theres been ONE.....Vernon Davis....that actually lived up to his draft status.

ONE.

Fact is these guys aren't at all the "matchup nightmare" in the NFL that they were in college.

Farley is absolutely best case scenario at 10

The good news is that best case scenario has a great chance at happening
Farleys ACL and the fact he sat out last year doesnt bother you? If I'm investing a premium pick on a player at 10, NO Way am I taking a guy coming off of a Blown ACL and then missed all of 2020. We have a very small sample size of work/tape on him. To contrast that, Patrick Surtain played through injuries' and never missed a game.He shut down elite wr's week in week out for several years.I could care less about his speed. His excellent fb IQ and instincts make up for that and then some. He is elite. He will step in day 1 and be our best DB. ALL PRO. Do you trust Farley to stay healthy and available? Its a good honest question. Gimme the guy who stays off the training table anyday.

A torn acl multiple years ago is hardly an injury to be concerned about..not playing in 2020 has nothing to do w injuries..I'm not complaining if we take ps2, but I'll go for the guy w the higher ceiling at 10 and that is Farley

With his injury history he’s a lock to become a Dallas Cowboy. Even if we have to trade up.

a guy coming off of a Blown ACL
from 2017 training camp as an 18-year old. That was 3 1/2 years ago. He played 23 NCAA games between that injury and now.

then missed all of 2020.
He opted out. As did Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons, Ja'Marr Chase, and several other college players. He has been preparing for the NFL every day since.

I really don't get these criticisms or concerns for Farley.

Sewell and Parsons had ankle injuries. Ja'Marr Chase tore his PCL 3 months after Farley hurt his ACL.

They all have to get medical evaluations.

lol true. TO ME, Surtain is very low maintenance..ready to roll day 1..He is THAT good right now and will get better. IMO hes a poor mans Darrelle Revis. He knows how to use great technique and isnt afraid to be physical.Has a Jaylon Ramsey body and is already better than him IMO..tho they play 2 different positions. You draft Farley you gotta understand what your getting...your getting a slot guy in year 1...he wont be asked to cover the wr 1 of any team very much. He has huge upside and is a bit raw right now. His main issue is health. Can he remain available on game days and stay off the training table? If the answer is yes, he will be a stud..Surtain is better right now.Gimme him.

Surtain is a beast and a sure bet. He just doesnt come off the field. He offers us some physicality at that position that we havnt had for many years. Diggs is also in that mold. We could have 2 of the best young tandems of corners in the NFL if we draft Surtain.

for the record, I got no issue with an olineman having an acl hes coming back from. They dont need to sprint down field very much like a cb would. BIG difference.

Surtain, slater or Pitts will be the pick at 10. Unless Sewell falls into or laps. Now what happens guys IF Waddle or Smith falls to 10 as well? THEN WHAT? Jerry wouldnt do the unthinkable would he?
