Oh see I keep going. If I draft Surtain in the 1st....and get to the 2nd round and one of those corners are there? I'm still drafting corner. I'm building this defense back up the right way. Building up the depth. Granted, I'd love to go defensive linemen there if possible or linebacker.

On a team with Amari Cooper, Gallup and Lamb.....tight end would be a wasted pick. Unless you believe in putting up 40 points a game which is fine but this team has shown they have no issue of allowing 41 points a game.
Roc we don’t have time for depth right now - picks through 4th rnd need to be starters at whatever position they play.

"Whine fest"??? So if anyone compliments another team on their signings and offers concern that Dallas isn't doing anything to improve then to you they are whiners? Damn people on here sure are sensitive and over reactive.
You complimented the Jaguars though lol...what on earth have they done to warrant a compliment?

With the correct coaching he'll probably become All Pro for the next three years or more...

I wouldnt be shocked if Dalton takes less money and stays here on the cheap. His wife and kid really love it here. That is a HUGE factor.
There's no way. I don't even know how or why he even came back here last season for that deal. He got lucky that Dak got hurt. If he's serious about playing though its not in Dallas.

I get more excited having the possibility of an elite superstar TE dominating defenses over drafting a cornerback that can be drafted in the second round and have very little talent drop off from Farley or Surtain.

I still say Dallas doesn't pass on Pitts regardless.
They need like 3 corner backs, not just 1. There's almost no chance they take Pitts.

more about the consistency of your observations than just the one. if you aren't happy there's no need to put yourself through it.

Fans should be critical of the team's FO when there has been no legitimate success in over 25 years so if you want to be okay with the status quo then that is your choice but stop with telling people to go elsewhere for simply being frustrated with the Dallas FO.

Remember when I was telling everyone to draft Malcom Brown?.... Yup good memories. Looks like someone in the front office might be finally listening.

Depends how much he is sick of his wife after quarantine lol.

He has plenty of money. Plenty. Should be next to a zero factor.

I knew he was going to be snatched up rather quickly. We don't like him, cause his poor ball skills, but he is a solid starter who can play inside/outside.

I feel like this team doesn't value DBs who can cover but can't be playmakers. I mean, Jones is another example of that IMO. We shelled out early for Zeke, which we knew would mean that Jones was gone and we never even blinked about it. Spent a 1st round pick on that guy and just let him walk with no compensation.

Can't say I understand it, especially since we've changed Defensive coaches but it sure seems like we are real good at drafting those kinds of guys but not valuing them. It's weird.......

Well a few things....when I talk about depth I'm not talking about just backups. For instance, if I draft two corners....based on the corners I see on the team.....I see no reason to believe why those guys can't come right in and contribute right now.

Also, these rookies aren't going to be difference makers this year. Just not the type of draft for that. There's no Chase Young's in this draft who will come right in and wreck havoc. So knowing that I'm grabbing up the best players and making my team better for the future. Ideally, I'd like to build my team from the inside out.

They could use a helping hand.

Few things are different now (this year) IMO.........
*MM is in his second year ( COVID-19 had a major impact on his first offseason)
* New defensive coor with serious skin on the wall
* Stephen williness to sign players 30+ as he did last year ( can't remember it happening under Garret tenure)
* There are a lot of good/quality players out there. Some may not have the so-called name recognition but are just as effective.

I've said before ( could certainly be wrong) but IMO they having freed up X amount money for nothing. I'm guessing they've already targeted a couple of players at certain positions they feel pretty good about signing.

Sure, they are likely targeting some low level, low ceiling but inexpensive roster filler. And if by some magic some better player slides through and will play for the low slot they have on the position, they might sign them.

Last year may have simply been about giving McCarthy a bit more than normal since he was a new coach. If anything, the fact they burned out on Griffen, Poe and McCoy would likely push Jerry and Stephen to pull back on FA spending again.

I prefer to call it "venting" or "debating."

Regardless, it does seem that several people become extra annoyed when you do it.

I have no issue with your posts.

I personally don't see it but you never know with the Cowboys. And to those using Lamb as a excuse......they had a glaring hole at slot. There is absolutely no reason for them to pass up defense for a offensive player. Especially with this foolish of a offseason they are currently having.
