Or maybe Quinn gonna try neal like Seattle uses Jamal Adams...blitzing, tackling support close to line underneath coverages nickel packages etc.etc.?
Yes, Neal has a similar skill set. What I like is Wilson/him on the field as they are strong tacklers, please let Woods walk.

If we can get 10 more of these 1 year 5m deals we may just have ourselves a defense.

We were at $11.6 million in cap space without accounting for the Basham signing and this one. Those should put us at least around $5 million to $6 million. We'll need $4 million to sign our draft picks, but we don't have to worry about creating that space yet.

So one more $5 million deal and maybe a $2 million-plus deal would be possible because of the rule of 51 ... unless we restructure a deal or two for more cap space.

One year deals are smart. Gives the player a chance to prove himself and gives the Cowboys an avenue of escape if they don't work out as planned.

They didn't touch Cooper or Lawrence's deals yet. They can get $27 million by doing so but it also guarantees the rest of both players' contracts.

Why do we have to pay over market value for guys to come here? I just don't understand.

Harris only gets $5M with the Eagles
King only gets $5M

We have to pay Neal $5M? What the hell?

That's apparently the going rate for safeties. I don't know what the deal is with Anthony Harris would have thought he would sign for more.

Neal actually tore his achilles two years ago, but came back strong from the injury in 2020- 74 tackles with a sack and a pick. Should be even better in 2021 two seasons removed from it.

It looks like unless we stop after a couple more smaller deals that we'd have to make some kind of move like that.

Frankly, I hope we restructure and go after one of the corners remaining. If we don't, I feel we're locked into taking one with our top pick.

I've heard similar things about Neal. Quality character guy. Good leader for our young secondary.

What worries me now is that being one of Quinn's "guys" he's automatically going to be inserted as the starter over Wilson. Wilson was the best playmaker we had on defense last year and I am not in support of any move that puts him on the bench other than to rest. Bears watching for sure..
I would expect Neal will be the starter at SS with Wilson backing him up when Neal steps into LBer, in certain packages. For as good as Wilson played last year, he was a sixth round pick. Neal was a first.
Us Neal is on a prove it deal.
This rules out nothing for the draft, even if we pick up one of the 2 FS coming in.
Still plenty of team building to do.
But having Neal's talent level on the squad is a good problem to have.

Man do you really have to come up with some material as people are simply expressing their opinions and should it not be YOUR opinion then they are haters....ironic given you are hating on them for their opinion.
A Hater is someone who is always *****ing. That would be you.
