I would still love to see us sign another CB. Someone like Casey Hayward would be nice.

If we did that, we could go into the first round truly intent on taking the best player at No. 10. I don't think we can do that with Brown or Lewis as our possible starters if we don't get a surefire starter. At this point, I think we take Surtain or Horn.

Now, Dallas could be convinced that it can get a starting corner in the second because of both the depth and getting Diggs in that round last year, but that would be a risky move. Because there is quality at the position, there could be a run on corners before our second-round pick.

They can get a DT in the 2nd or 3rd, or 4th round of the draft and the big guy from Chicago plays inside too.

You should never count on third-round and fourth-round picks filling a need. You hope they will, but it's really hit and miss.

It's hard enough having to count on a rookie drafted in any round. Look at Diggs last year. Sure, he started for us and made some plays, but he also got beat quite a bit. Adjusting to the NFL is difficult for most players.

I'd offer Hooker a one-year deal with incentives as well. If they can both play there's enough dead weight to cut back there.

I can't say without knowing how the medicals turned out. However, if they were good, I agree. We need good competition so we don't end up having to start someone like Darian Thompson again.

crazy 5 days ago this place said the DC dont value the S position they sing Neal, Kearse, and Kazee ,add wilson who luvs contact id say we have a lot of competition in TC to find the best 2 to start..

..sure none are earl Thomas but 3 DL, 3 S, whats next. Maybe quinn has Jerrys ear right now and thats good..

draft still a month away !!

I do like that we're at least trying to address areas of weakness. Who knows how it will work out. Maybe these low-cost players will step up in ways other low-cost signings haven't for us. The success rate of this approach has not been high for our team.

I would have preferred to see us go after one legitimate young DT (Dalvin Tomlinson) and one high-quality safety (Josh Johnson) instead and fill those holes for several years, but I knew that wasn't going to happen.

You do that and you don't have to worry about drafting replacements for one-year guys and can focus on other areas.

If he’s healthy, he’s a good player. He has really nice ball skills and football instincts. He’s a natural player, which is really good to have at FS.

He just needs to have the same movement skills that he did pre-injury. That’s my question.

There'll be, maybe, several good safeties in the draft. After round two, they might be taken.

Here's hoping we won't wait too long to draft a good one. Kazee's fine but not a sure thing.

Lawrence, Reed, McCarthy, Gregory

Vander Esch, Neal

Diggs, Brown, Lewis

Wilson, Kazee

With Dan Quinn's coaching and "Redemption" t-shirts.

Is it September yet?

I'm in. One question. Does Big Mike get a captain's patch?

I don't understand how anyone can take this signing as a bad thing. The dude's a ballhawk and takeaways are one of our weaknesses. It gets Xavier Woods out the door and that is a good thing. Between Kazee, Wilson and Neal we now have a secondary that will have receivers hearing footsteps. Throw in Dan Quinn drawing up the plays and instilling the culture and we are already so much better than we were last year on that side of the ball and we haven't even gotten to the draft yet.

The incessant whining by many board members, is old and tired. Why are grown men, so touchy-feely about everything? The "Talk" has taken over the forum.

Not much to not like about this. Hope he's healthy, and if he is, we got a starter with ball skills.
