Everyone listen to his words here. He obviously has no clue. This all came about on the comp picks the Cowboys got from signing cheap free agents on a 1 year contract knowing they’ll get comp picks. The Cowboys got a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round comp picks this year and this fool is trying to downplay it. He’s a hack, he’s a hater and he’s a troll and always has been. Just Google his posts.
And you're lame, really really dumb, and don't have a clue about pretty much anything. If you threw a slug on the keyboard, he'd post more sense than you.

History is pretty clear here. The Cowboys FA process rarely succeeds. So when people ask if the team was improved this offseason, “yes” isn’t the answer I think we should be stating.
Every year is different.

Quantity doesn't equal quality. I have no problem signing depth, but you also need starting talent to begin with before you celebrate that depth. I recall Jerry saying, two years ago, it was the deepest team he had ever had. Yeah, we know how our starters did that year.

I do like that we signed a franchise-high eight outside FAs. It gives us a better chance that one or more will be decent. Frankly, I think that's the approach you have to take if you are going to only sign bargain-basement FAs. That's why I would have liked to see us sign players like Malik Hooker as well. Load up on the cheap and find out during camp which ones are worth keeping. If that means not taking players like Saivion Smith, Rashard Robinson and Deante Burton to camp, I'm fine with that. Those types are not going to move the needle anyway.

Byron Jones? I never mentioned Byron Jones. What the hell?

You keep citing the third round comp pick we have and then ramble on about how smart it is that we sign guys to one year deals in FA because it nets us comp picks.

We should be clear that the 3rd round comp pick came from losing Jones. Stop citing it as if it was a reward from the team’s FA process of signing one year guys and turning them into comp picks.

Hater is used to describe anyone with an opposing view.

Hating how one's team is run is not hating on the team.

Not being a fan of Prescott, Elliott, Booger or anyone else associated with the team doesn't make anyone a hater.
Years ago, hate wasn't a word you seen very often when people had differing opinions. Now you see it used everywhere. At some point in our society having a rational debate is becoming obsolete.

Many on this board are still capable of it, but the fact the word "hate" has become so prevalent is bothersome to me. Of course for me that extends way beyond this board.

I don’t care how they get the comp picks, just that they do. It’s a strategy and it’s going to pay off. I realize you hate on everything the Cowboys do because you’re too narrow minded and agenda driven to see the positives.

Great.

I click on the title thinking I can read about the topic and all I see is an argument.

I don't think ANY of those comp picks are from one year free agents.

Do those type of signings even qualify???

I could swear I saw something where they do not.

Quinn was traded for and it cost them a 6th to get that 4th before anyone brings that up.

Jones and Heath were two of the others. Wasn't Witten the other?

Not sure there, but if so, exactly none of this year's comp picks are a result of one year free agents.

So whats the argument?

Yet you keep citing comp picks as a benefit to signing JAGs to one year deals. But the third round one came from losing Jones not from signing a bargain bin JAG that we flipped into a comp pick a year later.

Stop citing the 3rd round comp pick as some sort of proof that signing low level guys pays off for us.

Again I could care less how they get the comp picks. I like their strategy. You hate everything they do. You do you and I’ll do me.

Every year is different. But history can be a guide, especially if you do the same things over and over and over with little positive results.

The answer to the question here isn’t “yes”. It’s, at best, “maybe”.

History IS a guide, just not a bottom line. There are SO MANY variables. People evolve and change, sometimes for better and sometimes worse. Economic conditions, ideaologies, technology—-circumstances altered by time and perception. There are so many variables that affect overall success, and Super Bowl win percentages are very low. The quickest, easiest assumption for failure is incompetence. Now, I’m not trying to excuse the team’s mistakes or shortcomings, just enjoying the normal hope and optimism that proliferates this time of year.

It might pay off if they were any good at drafting. 2017, 2018, and 2019 were all terrible draft classes so why should I believe they got better at it now?

As per the original post, I don't see much, if any improvement.

We we’re injured last year a lot of factors took place last year plus additional game
We'll be injured this year too. Many more factors again this year. The additional game is @NE, count it as a loss.

Name them.
Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Seattle, Rams. Here are some that are better. There are teams who have improved more than the Cowboys so far this off season. We will see what happens in the draft. History for the last 25 years says that the best they will do is win the worst division and maybe get one playoff win.
