Been a slower year for game releases; Outriders being online required is a no-go with the server issues right now, even solo. Why do you have to be online in solo mode so you can't play the game when there are server issues like they're having right now? Seems counter productive but better off waiting on these games anyhow.

I actually just finished the story of Outriders today. I’m on an assignment in Japan for a few months, so I think my playing time is flipped from most of the high traffic hours.

I was surprised by how good the story was. Usually a looter game has a pretty hollow story that only moves you from point A to B to grind gear, but there is some actually good sci fi narrative in Outriders.

Good to hear bc I likely will get it once the servers are stable, I liked the demo but even then my system seems to drop in and out online with the ps5; all games, so it's a psn thing for me, etc. Seems to happen alot with the Hulu app but not others so much but it's been a pain tbh

Found myself getting back into Gran Turismo Sport the other night. Decided to do this race I've been stuck on (and by stuck I mean not finding the patience to do it) that is 15 long laps. You start at the back of the positioning and have to race your way up to the front of the pack. Spent 45 minutes on this race and made it all the way up to 6th place. Silver trophy. Not bad. Race ends, I win a free car, and then an error pops up. The game reset, updated, and then loaded back up. My race was gone. Never saved. 45 minutes down the drain. I was mucho furiouso!! It was getting late but I was so annoyed about it that I had to finish it. I raced like a man possessed the next race. Made it to 1st place this time, gold trophy, AND the game finally saved. haha

I can see why (reading that made me frustrated for you lol), that's where I got stuck in Wipeout 2048 HD (only racing game I seem to go back to) but specifically this race where you have to rank in the top 3 and I just.can't.do.it smh...game looks gorgeous on 4K too but jeez I end up deleting the whole game out of frustration due to that blockade.

Cyperpunk patch today. I noticed it was 40GB on Xbox. I feel kind of over the game, but, I'll probably download it and check out the game just because curiosity.

I'm going to give them until the next gen releases but have heard it greatly improved on xbox x/ps5 but made it worse on the base console versions. I didn't really realize how much that studio did after release for Witcher 1 and 2 but it was a lot of free content/huge patches, so am hoping more for the same here. Witcher 3 made it seem like they were on par with Rockstar and GTA/Red Dead but that is more over time, etc. Haven't given up on them yet (probably bc they didn't refund my request )

My buddy started playing Witcher 3 like a month ago. Was like "it's OK", and then I proceeded to see him playing it anytime I logged on. Apparently it really roped him in and he couldn't put the controller down. lol

I want to be that way with my games like it used to be "back in the day". I want to get so engrossed in a game I can't put it down. As it is I have way too many games I've started, but I just can't devote time to them. My ambition is there, but time constraints get me every time. I got Witcher 3 a week ago from Gamefly and also have the Far Cry 5 New Dawn from them. I started Hero Zero Dawn about a month ago. I've also got games I purchased and haven't even started. It's not the games fault as I can tell if I could devote time to it I would enjoy every minute of it.

The last game I've started and completed in the last few months was Uncharted 4. It was a pretty linear game so it was easy to pick up from where I stopped. These other games are so huge and complex I lose track of where I was.

BTW, you're the one who turned me to Gamefly. It's a good feeling renting the games and determining if I want the game or not for purchase without wasting my money outright and discovering I don't like the game.

The Witcher 3 is receiving a graphical update for ALL versions sometime in 2021. Might be a nice time to jump back in.
The Witcher 3 is getting a free graphics upgrade with ray-tracing | KitGuru

In a surprise announcement today, CD Projekt Red has announced that it is working on an updated version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This will be a graphical upgrade, with one of the key features being the addition of ray-tracing for PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

As part of the announcement, CD Projekt Red said: “Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing, HDR and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be sold as a standalone purchase on Xbox Series X and PS5. However, anyone that owns the current-gen version on PC, Xbox One or PS4 will get the upgrade for free.

Yup, I hear you there. With so many fantastic games out these days it is tough to choose one and stick with it, especially with how gigantic games are anymore. You can sink 50-60 hours on just the main story in most open world games and that doesn't even count all the side quests or roaming you might do. On one hand it's fantastic. On the other hand it can tend to be overwhelming when you're trying to juggle other things in life. So, I get it.

Awesome. Glad you're enjoying Gamefly. It's been a pretty solid service for me, and like you mentioned, great for discovering if you like or don't like any particular game.

regardless of the version you play I recommend changing the clunky default movement to "alternative". Makes the game feel so much better. I haven't continued this game since I'm waiting on the ps5 version and it's the same reason I haven't touched CP2077 yet.

Honestly didn't like the Velen portion of the story. But Noivgrad really really hooks you. One of the best story arcs Ive ever seen in those type of games

I used to be pretty good at shooters but haven't played one in years. I've been playing Far Cry 5 for the last couple of days. I am either completely missing something or I just completely suck. Much more likely it is the latter.
Love the Far Cry series... Shooting is definitely important, but usually it's how you set everyone up in the process that lets everything kind of flow combat wise if that makes sense.

If you try to run up in a camp Rambo style, it would be hard to duck n cover your way through everyone with standard COD style fps.

So want to say the middle :D

I've gone into a mission with a different tactic and completely flips the script at times so want to say more that then bad at FPS. I do hear our reflexes slow down but unless you're on a really hard difficulty it's probably something smaller like auto-aim being set off, or camera/aim sensitivity may need adjusting.
