I would take that. I am less concerned about who we draft..more nervous about whether this staff can produce wins with this team. Still think McCarthy in over his head with this team. We are too high profile for Big Mike I think.

It's ok to have opinions but you can't act like they are correct just because they belong to you. I could forward reasoning as to why Slater over Surtain is a better choice but if I did that, I'd say "IMO".

They didn’t say specifically about Parsons, but the way I assumed on Parsons is he was a less valued player.

I think BPA was how he listed then based on grading. But to be fair, I don’t remember specifically.

Seems fair. This year really reminds me of 2014 when the team went into the draft with a pretty good "final four "of Anthony Barr (9th), Aaron Donald (13th), Ryan Shazier (15th), and their 4th choice Zack Martin. That's also the draft where Jerry threw a hissy fit and wanted the team to throw away their board and draft Johnny Manziel.

My only hope is that list this year is actually:

1. Sewell
2. Surtain
3. Slater (not thrilled with him at 10)
4. Horn (only if we can't trade down)

I'd add a Group B if trade down comes into play

3. Trevon Moehrig
4. Zaven Collins

Based on the things I’m hearing, maybe the Cowboys don’t grade the corners as highly as some people on this board do AND don’t be surprised if the Cowboys have Horn graded higher than Surtain.

With Jaylon, I think they made noise that he was a top 5 draftee "if fully healthy", so it seems that they consider a LB potentially worth a high draft spot. Me, not so much.

League added a game to the schedule. Makes Slater more valuable with 2 injury prone tackles, Biadasz and Zach Martin missed games as well.
Slater over Surtain isn't a fail. I'd rather go CB, but there are definite benefits of going O-Line.

I think he starts at LG, then in 2022 he moves over to LT to replace Smith

I'm not against trading down. But I'd rather stay put. There is going to be a very good player available at 10. Take him. Move on.

I also think if you aren't running mostly man coverage that you don't need these type of corners.

The NFL rules and schemes they are using to combat those rules now days make corner a less impactful position.

There isn't a wide gap between a solid NFL corner and Marlon Humphrey for example.

Horn may be better. from what I read he may be the more aggressive of the 2 and may be a laundry magnet early but pay bigger dividends down the road
