In my opinion. It’s one of the most cowardly things a team could do. Nothing positive comes from it. It can destroy a locker room. It creates a losing mentality. All those people that want us to tank and lose games on purpose. What a waste it would’ve been. It would not have given us a better First round draft choice. Specifically because we’re going to be able to take the best Defensive player in this draft. I hope this such a great example of why you never tank . You just don’t know what the result of it is going to bring. Other than Negativity. Go cowboys hope you have a great draft
I’ve always thought tanking was very honorable.

The Jaguars will win the Super Bowl within the next 5 seasons because they absolutely tanked this season. Their owner took control and tanked!

:lmao::lmao2::muttley::popcorn:

thats odd name me all the actual teams that were all in on tanking and won sb, and btw if it takes 5 years they didnt do it right as that 5 more drafts..

i'm betting money Cleveland was among those that seemingly tanked i mean they had multiple firsts and one year did they have 3 firsts and took 20 thats TWENTY years to finally have it start and i say that lightly start paying off..

most teams that tank keep losing and ends up like the jets have bunch of talent that never seemingly comes together and they sell off the best blue chip players..yes Cleveland and JAGs have dont this before..ni biscuit

its not a winning formula or teams would do it often nor is it real thing,. recent history says the opposite

jags didnt tank, they sucked and thats what bad teams do, LOSE..

So, that's how New England was successful all those years? By tanking season? Is that how KC did it? Philly? Denver? Seattle? Who are these teams that showed that tanking seasons is a sure way path to winning the Super Bowl?

hey thats my question to him, stealer lol
i'm looking for that vaunted list that proves this theory on tanking works..it hasn't worked for most the the bad teams picking top 5 10+ years in row..i mean we know those teams.. none have won A sb 5 years after allegedly tanking..

It has nothing to do with it understanding. The results of it. Good or bad. Justifying it. For any reason is a losing attitude. I will never root for my team To lose. Not give 100%. Even if you’re down 30 points.

Good for you. I have no problem openly rooting for higher draft position in a lost season.

Fans hoping they lose on purpose simply doesnt exist. Thats just something that guys like you make up to try and make a point.

Bottom line is this.....................Where would you rather draft? 4th or 10th?

There isnt ONE fan anywhere that would pick 10. So when it all comes down to it, I am rooting for the 4th pick. Why would I care if a injury ravaged football team loses another game or two when it doesnt matter?

One could argue that a fan like me is much more committed and willing to sit through frustrating losses for the betterment of the team. Maybe you just arent devoted as someone like me?

You don’t really have to tank
All we had to do is get all the young players who rarely seen the field some reps
See if Gilbert could be your backup
You don’t go out and tell your team to lose but you take advantage of the situation to get a guy like Anae reps and others

Eagles cashed in on that. They just traded down from the 6th pick. What did that net them? Was it another first rounder next year?

Well lets take one current example. Jets had the first pick and Lawrence wrapped up all year. Then won a meaningless game and Jags have it. Do you think Jets fans wanted them to win that game? Are Jets fans smarter than you?

I view it as a means to an end, rather than a copout, although, without doubt, there's more than one way to look at it.

People seem to view tanking as a bad thing. Like players are going out and purposely missing tackles, playing halfazz. That's not the case. If you're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It makes sense to get the younger guys a look. Those who will likely have a larger role the following season. Get them some much needed playing time. Might be a step backwards in the win column, but a step forward on draft day. And if they win with those players.. great.

Give the soap box garbage a rest. Not all wins are created equal and neither are all draft spots. Plus the dumazz owner has shown over the years he can use all the help he can get. Does this team actually need to look worse than it already does to see them proactive in securing draft position? It's a vital aspect every single year. That doesn't mean tank every year. That means years like 2010 and 2020 are golden opportunities squandered.

Tanking happens without a collective decision. Everyone just knows it and they half-***. They don't do it for picks, they do it because losing sucks and they just want things to be over.

I watched every game of the strike season. I’ve been watching this team from day one. In the military overseas or you could get was the Cowboys. How can I Not love the star and what it represents. Are you kidding me I pay my wife to go shopping Sundays. LOL I do everything I have to do for my family so when Sunday comes around they know to leave me alone. Devoted LOL I’ve driven miles hundreds to watch a Cowboys game. I truly believe this was the first season I missed more than two games. I don’t think I missed one game in over 15 seasons

One could also argue that playing a rookie QB over a veteran is losing now for the good of later. Which I am usually all for.
That’s not tanking in my opinion . That’s knowing the quarterback that starting is done. No if they started him again this season after I’d have to question it. But good point.

That's exactly what tanking is. It's not going out and whiffing on tackles. You have the wrong idea. It's a team that needs to have an eye on getting better the following season if they're already out of playoff contention. Some seem to think it's about purposely throwing games. Or players going half speed. That's ridiculous.
