Makes logistical sense. You just don’t understand it. If Dak isn’t the QB to take the team to the SB, then adding one more piece to the defense isn’t going to carry the team there. If Dak plays average like he has many times, the team goes nowhere. Fields covers the backup QB position in case Dak gets hurt or his recovery doesn’t go as expected. Also pushes Dak to be his best. Competition. If Dak plays well the one can easily trade Fields for a draft pick next year where the draft will be stronger.

Some think insurance and redundancy are not needed. I prefer a two-engine fighter over a single engine fighter.

Some want to assume Dak will lead the team to the promised land if he just had one or two or three or four more All-Pro pieces.
oh. i understood it.

but something tells me my going over it again would be nothing new to you and have the same impact the last 381 posters who have tried gotten. i'll just get to the part where i go "gosh, that was genius" and move on.

Pass on Fields.. I don’t want 2 Daks on the team. 1 is enough.

If they combined their strengths they might come close to a top 5 QB.

I would think they'd be more reluctant because of how terrible he is at reading defenses and needing a guy to be wide open to make a throw.

What a foolish statement. I guess all QB's that don't fit the mold of QB's of the 60's, are too dumb to play such an intelligent and unique position. Maybe, he can play receiver or rb.

I beat that dead horse for months. Falls on deaf ears. Many here see a picture of him on the beach or him doing a little something and swear everything is fine. Stronger than before they say.
as a Dak Fan originally, I can't help but think of the Alex Smith injury, it seems that Dak isn't going to have all the post surgery issues he had, but one good hit on that leg his career could be over, I would've never signed him to that mega deal, and to think we are in a decent position to been able to go up and get one of these QB's in this draft, but that's all water under the bridge now.
The Eagles are interested in any player that the Cowboys are interested in for the sole reason the Cowboys are interested in that player. That's the kind of petty tiki taki crap that the Eagles do.
if true then they should be targeting Surtain

if they want it that bad they better offer more then their 46, that not enough IMO some mocks say that all they give us is there 15 and 46..i say that less than id take to root me out of 10 as we are allowing some division rivals to get better players we targeted,,

Don’t worry. Some people just don’t ever understand some things no matter how many times one explains it to them.

Like how nobody is going to sign Dak long term until he takes a physical, amiright?

Jerry saw how Michael Irvin’s recovery went and how both were hard workers, so all good on Jerry’s yacht.

I guess you could technically call that a physical, amiright?

No. You technically cannot.

Or Horn and Surtain are both gone and Dallas is forced to draft the best defender in the draft in Jaelen Phillips.

Dallas would probably force the corner position and take Newsome though lol.

You have no concerns with his concussion history?

Not your argument. You included the Cowboys.

I don’t recall including the Cowboys. I always said let Dak hit FA. No team would sign him to a long term $40M without passing a rigorous physical including running, throwing, and cutting and MRIs and independent doctors before they would sign him. Dak was not passing any of that before the draft. Jerry was bidding against himself.

Jerry signed him before doing any of that, amiright?

I don’t know what your point is. Dak never got to FA so we will never know.

He does not. After weeks of saying he hasn't bothered looking into the guy's medicals, but didn't care, now he says DE's don't get hit in the head and things are fine.

That's Catch for ya.

And you will never get him to budge on what he latches onto. No matter how dumb.

You really need to stop saying amiright when you are so wrong.
You included the Cowboys in signing him and you posted it many times.

I would if a doctor told me it’s a big concern.

If we get this guy for the extent of Daks contract lthen it’s a W.

If you’re going to try and be a champion you need as many guys like him on your team as possible.

Wow you really took my statement and went too extremes..

There are QBs in this league that can barely throw and are effective.

To me Fields is Dak with a better deep ball and running ability. He’ll be fine and might end up better than a lot of these guys just based on situation.

Whoever goes to San Fran is the big winner in all of this.

Regardess.. What I see when I study him aligns with what the NFL is seeing and not what internet fan is telling me.

If we gave them 10 and 75, sure, they might give us 15 and 46...and maybe even throw in a 6th

Let’s ask Jimmy Johnson to settle this.

Jimmy says a first round pick ar #10 is worth 1300 points. The Pats’ pick at #15 is worth 1050, so it’d take 250 points to move up. The Pats’ second round pick is worth 440.

But what you’re forgetting @DFWJC is the “quarterback tax”. When you move up to get a QB, you pay what it takes.

Pats’ #15 + #46 for #10 is what I think it would take, OR #15 plus next year’s first. I’d personally rather have #46 given how that’s really a sweet spot of talent in this draft.

Will Horn fall to 15? That’s the question. But if you can grab Horn, then Richie Grant AND Joe Tryron, Jabril Cox or Jaylen Mayfield - you do that.

If Horn is gone, you probably have to go with Darrisaw and take Richie Grant + Kelvin Joseph or maybe Farley if he falls.
