Imagine how much better CeeDee is going to be in 2021 with a full season of Dak Prescott

Did we dream the 8-8 season the year before with a healthy Dak? And there is no excuse in the world that excuses the loss to the Jets. Not even being saddled with....Jason Garrett as HC.
So missing both starting tackles and your 2 starting wideouts isn’t an excuse? Lol. Ok then

Until Dak wins an MVP or Super Bowl he will get no pass from me.

Why do I hold him to a higher standard? He's the 2nd highest paid player ever.

That will be my answer to you from now on.
fair enough....but that should be your argument and it should be your argument for every QB of the cowboys and every QB in every NFL team. I guess Romo didn't get a pass from you neither. Watson doesn't get it. Allan doesn't get it. Stafford doesn't get it. and so on. and perhaps Dilfer gets your respect since he won a superbowl.

and let me ask again, given your twisted logic. 2 years from now, his contract won't be second highest...are you going to lower the bar then and adjust your expectations to the 10th highest contract? as I am sure you are well aware (if not I just told you), that's how contracts are in the NFL.

I don't do participation trophies. My bar will always be MVP or Super Bowl.

The real question is why would you expect anything less? Why is your bar set so low? Why does pretty numbers satisfy you?

I suppose you didn’t like Dan Marino also.. or possibly not old enough to know who he was.

See.. there’s times when a team has a great player, but that one player can’t overcome the deficiencies of the team. Football is the greatest TEAM sport for a reason!

Some of the quote..”best QBs” had great teams supporting them.. (Troy Aikman says hi)

See also.. Tom Brady last year (the Bucs defense was gross).. Maholmes has had superb skill players since he’s been a starter.. do I even need to mention Eli Manning? ..

The fact is.. Yes, you have to have a great QB.. but the QB isn’t the end all. Hell, I’ve personally watched subpar QB play on championship teams.. but of course, I’m also a guy that believes defense wins championships. So take that for what it’s worth.

1) Dak was NOT healthy the whole season.. He should not have played the second Eagles game after not practicing all week.. you decide if you want to put having Cooper Rush as the backup that year on Garrett or the Joneses.. Either way, it was stupid.
2) Having Cooper call it a day after 3? snaps cost us that Jets game. And yes, having Garrett as HC led to the Cowboys not having a viable plan B if Cooper went down or was limited that year, which he was pretty much that entire season. Even without Cooper, Dak and the offense put up 22 points.. which if the defense had simply done it's job on a damn 98 yard TD pass would have been enough to win.

I'm not giving Dak a pass for our most recent 8-8 season, but assume he

No, I don't subscribe to the endless excuses around here, year in and year out.

Probably one of the worst losses for the Cowboys in many bad losses. Another true Garrett special. That was the day the defense made Sam Darnold look like Patrick Mahomes.

It certainly sticks out as a game that reminded me just how far away from greatness we really are.

I hate being asked to imagine anything to do with the future of an athlete or team. That is just projection and not anything to do with reality. Beware of that argument, it is what is said when the facts are not on your side. In a debate, go with the facts rather than projection.

It's not that I don't like a QB that never won a Super Bowl. It's that, in my mind, they are simply not winners because they failed to get their teams to reach their goals as the leader and most important player on the team.

I understand your point about supporting casts, but since Dak has been in the league he has had one of the top supporting cast each year in my opinion.

Dak has a lot of years (hoperfully) to get it done, but only time will tell.

Healthy Dak, healthy OL, which means less focus on Zeke at times. Or if they do stack the box, then Dak and the receivers hit them.

Hopefully the defense improves enough to give them some shorter fields, as that will be a huge plus. I am tired of starting what seems 98% of our drives inside our own 20.

And can our offense please show up in the first half…PLEASE!

It was also two years ago. Garrett got fired and we have done a lot with the defense. I would also argue that offense is better.

So now Eli Manning is great.
Well that certainly convicts you of myopia.

I don't expect anything less neither. the goal for every team and every player should be superbowl. that's the standard and we should always examine why we didn't make it to the superbowl. not with a biased view, but objectively so we make the right decisions to make changes that will lead to a superbowl.

but you said: "Why do I hold him to a higher standard? He's the 2nd highest paid player ever."

and I simply ask, when in 2 years he is the 7th, 10th highest paid player, does your standard change...your logic was he is 2nd highest, so my standards are higher.
