I'm sorry but Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco, Nick Foles are not good NFL quarterbacks and most people would consider than inferior to what Dak is today.

All were deemed better passers coming out of college and they proved it winning a SB. But if you swap Dak with any SB winning QB I do not believe they make it to hat far. I doubt hell ever even make it to a SB honestly.

No need for elaboration if you don't want, but I'd like to see if you can name one play or moment that swayed you to like or dislike Dak as a player.
My moment was when he was on the bench and he threw his Gatorade cup to the trashcan and missed. He stood up, picked it up and put it in the trashcan. That was the moment that I started rooting hard for him.

Theres nobody in this forum that has been a fan of his longer than me. I know that for a fact. But my like for him took a shot this past offseason. He allowed his agent to backout on the team agreeing to agents demands only to have him pull out and push the bar higher. His agent did this with almost all of his clients and none of his top clients signed deals after the 2019 season because of this. I understand its a business and the agent is hired to get as much money as he can for his client. And teams burn players all the time, but the Dallas Cowboys dont do that. Even when they release players they still end up getting paid good. Thats why the team eats alot of dead money. No hidden out clauses that most teams do to manipulate the dollars against the salary cap. Basically screwing over the player.

The reason i liked Dak from the start back to his college days was because he makes players better. He did this at miss state took them from a trash team to a #1 ranking. He's a leader and who players want to play with. He isnt affraid to put his body on the line and get that extra yrd. We've seen him run over lbers and S to get that first down. He's gotten better every yr, and isnt even in his prime yet. When you have a guy like Bellichick complimenting him thats saying something. Basically because Bellichick doesnt give compliments.

I like him when he puts it all on the line like in the 4th quarter of his lone playoff win. That's a QB taking it on his shoulders and getting it done. I dislike him when he plays mediocre, which is far too often as of late. He needs to simply play better this season, or I'll like him a lot less by season's end. If I disliked him, I wouldn't wear his jersey. I'm sure he's the great guy people claim him to be, but that doesn't mean jack to me when it comes to a Super Bowl. Give me a jerk who gives us number 6 over a stand-up guy who gets us nowhere.

I have liked the guy since the moment they drafted him. Coming in and saving the season after the Romo injury was no small feat. I have defended him repeatedly here. Some think he needs to be Aaron Rodgers to be worthy. I just think he is a good QB and citizen. Let’s see how he does when he actually has a defense on the other side of the ball. Personally I think he is going to have a great year and finally shut a lot of people up.

He wronged me. Said stuff about my mother, kicked my dog, took the last beer, didn't flush, left dishes in the sink, ate my lunch, threw trash out the window, over cooked my steak, broke his leg, made more $ in 2021 than me, is better looking, and has got to ride in Jerry's helicopter. That's why.

Taking the last Beer just ain't right

If all accounts right Romo was not a true leader like Dak. Romo was more a of the chill buddy buddy guy. By the time the team started to build around Romo it was to late.

Romo was the better gifted quarterback, practically ran his own offensive plays from past players words and made those around him better. With Romo we always had a shot it seemed
Dak is a true leader however not as gifted as romo. Hasn't shown the ability to put the team on the shoulders and lift players up as much as Romo. More of a system robot. However Dak is slowly turning this around
Romo was a BFF type of guy. That’s why Jason Witten has great numbers. So many times other players weren’t expecting the football like Patrick crate and losing it in the lights. He never expected it in the first place. That’s what I didn’t like about Tony. Camaraderie in favorites are two different things

Jason Witten has great numbers because he is a GOAT, not because Romo is his BFF lol

Witten was infinity times better at his position then Romo was at his, and I like Romo.

You're referencing what they did out of college. Their accuracy and "passing" in the NFL was not good. Ravens won in spite of Dilfer. Nobody in the history of the NFL says "That guy Dilfer was a prolific passer in the NFL".....Nick Foles was a freaking back up lol. You're trying to sell me that these inferior quarterbacks "caught magic" but keep bringing up with they did in college? If that's the case Matt Leinhart and Vince Young should be NFL champions...

Good lord, man. Dak never propelled MS State to a #1 ranking. In fact I don't think they have ever reached the top spot in my entire life, and I'm almost 56 years old. They certainly haven't been a #1 ranked team since 2010, which was before Dak even began his college days. I can't speak for a conference #1 ranking, but MS State NEVER reached the top national spot while Dak played there.

You're sounding worse than Dak's ultimate homers by proclaiming he did something he never came close to doing. What's next, are we going to give Dak credit for winning the MVP every year since 2016, even though the entire sporting world knows he wasn't even in discussions for the award?

Surprising take. I'm not sure there are very many QBs who wouldn't have won with Baltimore's defense in 2000. Dilfer was terrible and still won. His defense/special teams only gave up 23 total points in the 4 playoff games and also contributed by scoring 3 TDs of their own. Even a rookie Dak would have made that team much better than they were with Dilfer.

Dilfer...seriously...he had a defense that gave up 10 points a game...let that sink in for a while...10 points a game!!!!!. let me repeat...10 points a game.

Joe Flacco had the benefit of a good defense as well. giving up only 16 points a game...he was a decent passer, but didn't have to do much.

Foles, caught fire in the end and had benefit of a great OC, that we now know was the force behind that offense, as Eagles struggled mightily when he left. Foles reminds me of Hostetler and Giants. Simms got hurt and he went on a run and won a superbowl with a great strategic coach, who ran the ball and dominated the clock for almost 40 minutes.....he went on to have a ho hum career and played for AZ and didn't amount to anything. kind of like foles.

actually. factually you would be wrong. they did reach #1 overall ranking.....they did lose subsequently and moved down the polls, but yes, they were ranked #1.

He seems to be a leader who his teammates respect and follow. He's also very determined and will sacrifice his body to try and win. Those are the kind of intangibles you want in a QB.

Physically he is a good athlete - good mobility and good arm strength, but not exceptional in either category.

Consistency is the key - over games and over seasons. It's certainly not always his fault when the offense has some problems in that area, but as the QB he is in the best position to influence it. That's the area that needs to improve for him and the offense to be the elite level I think they can be.

that defense gave up 10 points a game....I can't even fathom how good that defense was...10 points...that's one quarter of scoring usually in most games.....holy cow....

their offense was so bad...they won a game 12-0, 15-9, 13-7, 16-3 and lost games 10-3 and 9-6, and 14-6....imagine your defense holding opponent to 10 points and you lose....they actually had a 3 game losing streak giving up only 33 points....hard to believe.

that defense was best all time. they had 29 fumble recoveries, 23 interceptions....35 sacks.

It's almost as crazy as having the #1 offense in the league and losing games 9-13, 9-17, and 10-12, huh?
