A question about the QB

Yes, I know, another Dak Prescott thread but this one isn't really about him, it's about your perception of him as the DC QB.

Has your perception changed and why?

I am one of the few that watched him throughout his days at Miss St from being the starter as a junior, because I watch a lot of SEC, and his story connected with me as I had lost the person closest to me to the same monster.

He got on the Heisman watch because of his legs and the better defenses in the SEC took that away from him his senior season and forced him into more of a pocket QB. He did not look comfortable to me.

He got picked in the 4th, about where I thought he should go because accuracy on a consistent basis was not his game.

I was aware of how he got his HS and college starting jobs in the same manner but also intrigued as to why the starter couldn't take the job back. Little did I know this 4th rounder, longshot to not be on the PS to start the season, was to repeat what he did with Dallas as he did in HS and college.

I am not in either of the extreme camps regarding him, I am somewhere in the middle but I used to think just as Aikman did, you can't fix accuracy and he hasn't to the point of being Brady or Rodgers but he most definitely has improved in that area. He will still make those errant throws but what QB doesn't?

I am just interested to see how many are in that camp with me? Because that QB that started 2020 didn't even resemble that QB I watched at Miss St. Not even remotely.

I have seen this man work on his game and improve every season and I am intrigued as to where is his ceiling? How good can he be?

BTW, this isn't about how much he's being paid because I don't care about that. They had few options to signing him and this is just about how has your perception of him and his talent changed since he became a Cowboy.

Thanks for a fun thread Coach! I was fortunate enough to go to the first preseason game in LA at the coliseum. I took my Dad as we had never seen a game live before, great seats and cheap - lovely day! I distinctly remember being so excited to see Romo and the team. I was telling them about our 4th round QB and that he would see a lot of action. It was sometime in the 2nd or 3rd quarter and Dak made a beautiful read for a touchdown throw - it was so obvious he had read the play and placed the ball perfectly. I remember telling my people how impressive it was for a 4th round to see that and make the throw. Pulled out my tarot cards and said we may have a winner here!

And man what a ride it has been. As an example of professionalism, a leader, just having fun and enjoying it out there - kind of like Favre how he so loved the game and that was contagious. Love that about Dak. And how hard he works and gets better and better. I think he is an elite QB, just as I thought of Romo. It would be nice to get some post season success and maybe win a couple more super bowls - but it sure is fun to watch him play some ball!!

You're free to feel any way you want about Dak. Me, I look at him as the guy who wasn't interested in winning until his big pay day was announced. He did proclaim after getting paid that NOW was the time to start going after a super bowl. Like it wasn't important before. Guess we should have known where his priorities would lie.

Who told you?

"Yep.........it differs in a severely negative way and you have to go onto every thread and say the same thing over and over again. Thats what trolls do. Thats called hate. If you didnt HATE Dak you wouldnt have to show up on every dak thread and sprew your hatred.

If you dont like the term troll or hate, then change your ways. Or delete your account."

It doesn't surprise me that he is the one who said it. I normally tell him to go stick his head back up Dak's butt.

I've proved him wrong so many times with actual numbers, stats, articles, and just catching him up in saying one thing and then turning around and saying the opposite that he just ignores me now. I like it.

Funny as I offered him stats and facts yet I am told I never provide those things and only post about Dak.....strange world the CZ group.

I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous statement

It takes a team. It takes Coaching. Why do I bother
The QB is more important than the coach. Brady proved that.

How many rings did Reid have before he got Mahomes?

Dak is Alex Smith in this scenario.

Dak's had the teams. He just couldn't get it done. Mahomes would have got it done just like he has in KC.
