When it comes to Russell Wilson it's the combination of a lot of things.

Yes he just walked in and took over and has never missed a game. How many QB's can say that?

Set an NCAA record that final season at Wisconsin, tied an NFL record his rookie season, who does that?

8 pro bowls first 9 seasons, once again how many QB's can say that?

Never had a losing season.

Most wins in nine seasons.

Over 33, 000 passing yards and over 4500 rushing yards.....he is the only one.

4000 yards passing/30 or more TD passes/500 or more rushing yards in a season......he is the only one. And he is 15 yards short of doing that three times?

Three times more TD than INT...rare!

And I can go on and on and on.....

The guy is simply amazing and is doing things never seen before and he has what....8ish seasons left?

All this....well he had a defense,.,,so what only a rookie would fail to see this guys greatness.

I've always like Wilson. I remember when people would just label him a bus driver his first few years. They have some crow to eat on that one.

Only a complete homer would spout all of this. You are making people laugh at you.

I laugh at those who.....well he had a defense....and try to belittle his greatness, so................

All anyone had to do was watch him at Wisconsin to see this was no bus driver. Here we have a great "athlete" playing NFL QB, something we don't always see, Bummer he had BEASTMODE actually, people had to wait to see just how capable this guy was.

We hear about that D but why so many 4th Q comebacks thanks to Wilson?

I agree with that.

Tons of this kind of thing out there....

Russell Wilson is the first quarterback in NFL history to have a winning record in each of his first nine seasons

— Alistair Corp (@byalistaircorp) December 13, 2020
Wilson had already become the quarterback with the most wins through his first nine seasons and has now secured yet another season of play above .500. Regardless of the health of the roster, the talent around him, or the level of play from his defense, Wilson has proven to be a walking playoff berth, keeping Seattle in contention year-in and year-out.

Breaking a record or setting a new milestone has seemingly been a weekly occurrence for Wilson in his ninth season and that will only continue as his career progresses, such is the consistency he plays with.

Brady didn't play his rookie year. Started only one game in 2008 due to injury.

Brady 97-30
Wilson 98-45-1

That's their regular season record's on their first 9 years. Brady missed 31 games.

Advantage Brady, now look at passing yards, comp %, TD/INT ratio, rushing, passer rating, pro bowls, advantage Wilson.

That's fine. But if I'm Tampa I wouldn't trade Brady for Wilson for one year. In fact, if I needed a QB for just one year, Wilson isn't even in my top 3.

Russell Wilson will never be on a par with Tom Brady/Joe Montana/Aaron Rodgers/Drew Brees/Peyton Manning....

Right here is where we start talking Russell Wilson, but.......none of those mentoined above had a better first nine seasons of the career, he ruled there.

I always thought Wilson was a very good QB. Did he even miss any games? The thing is it's hard for me to judge quarterbacks due to all of the moving parts on a football team. You can't judge them like pitchers. A lot of people don't give Belichick enough credit. If Rodgers or Brees played there since 2000, would they have more than 1 SB? I think so. Even Wilson.

Wilson has started every game for the last nine seasons.

Pro bowls.....how you are perceived by others
passer rating
TD/INT ratio
Comp %

Ya start there. Then ya get into passing yards, rushing yards, that is all a QB can do, If your D totally sucks, it won;t matter much.

Perfect example of this is Dan Fouts, he had a great offense, best gang of weapons on one team we have seen. But because of a bad defense....hey!

Belichick would help anyone, yep...special.

If I'm Russell Wilson I let it be known I can help with bringing in my stud tackle. Nobody but Wilson more important,

Building a team

1.QB
2. left tackle

Back in the day the Chiefs with Len Dawson used a moving pocket, what that did was mess up the pass rush and it was very effective. No way anyone away from where Dawson is heading had a chance and it messed up a blitz. Why teams don't go that route, hmmm? Wilson would be great at it.

A moving pocket is fine. But you probably need a mobile QB to have any success in case things go south. Moving pockets limit your choices on the field usually to one side only.

Or Aikman . . . no way Wilson survives in that age . . . Flutie had to go to the CFL and come back in order to earn playing time in the NFL

Back then The QB couldn't run out of the pocket and throw the ball out of bounds. . . if the QB got out of the pocket He had to run for his life to get out of bounds . . . the defense knew it and would t off on the QB . . . if the QB threw it the ball would have to be in the area of the WR . . . back then the CB and WR use to wrestle all the way down the field a lot of contact. . . no defenseless WR rule . . No late Hit on a QB .

All this leads to the QB getting his *** kicked . . . these QB's would not last in that day and age.

Its still the Football its not the NFL any more.

You cant compare based on stats any longer . . . cant be done. . . yet someone like you will insist on doing it regardless.

You are just being stubborn

So, nobody playing today could have survived the 80's? Really?

Len Dawson wasn't a runner at all he made it work. Sure it takes specific plays designed just for this.

If we play a little game that works like this....

1 point for

pro bowls
65 or better comp %
4000 yard seasons
30 or more TD
less than 12 INT
seasons where he started every game
seasons where he won a playoff game
over 400 rushing yards
100 or better passer rating

What QB in the history of the game would score more points than Wilson in their first nine seasons (all he has)

His first nine seasons are the best we have seen. He walked right in and took over, nobody has won more games in their first nine seasons.

Yes Tom Brady is THE GOAT but his first nine seasons don't compare to Wilsons. This he won more Superbowls doesn't work, Eli won more than Marino, see what I mean?

This is a Cowboys forum, not a Seahawks.
