Magic 8 Ball, is there more to this story than just the info that Collins' agent is releasing?

No doubt the NFL conducts business as you're indicating.
Still, why 5 weeks when the rule says 4 weeks?

Mostly, it's just fun to blame it on Goodell.

I'd say just plain lazy. DallasEast posted the actual rules in this case and folks just glossed over it and still go on their CONSPIRACY! victim rants. Rules should never apply when it comes to the Cowboys. Lol.

I would like to know this as well, especially how much time is given to report for the test. Having said that it falls to the player when called to go in and be tested so for the most part I put this on Collins. Our guys need to be smarter than this.
Being tested ten times in a given months does not show irresponsibility on Collins. In fact, it shows responsibility since he never failed an actual test. The question should be asked why was he tested 10 times per month?

I'm a bottom line guy, these players know it is not an option when called into be tested, I don't care if he passed 15 test, fact is when you are called in to take the test you show up and get it done. In not doing so it will likely cost his teammates 5 games without him in the lineup. Again this has nothing to do with past test, it has nothing to do with it being optional, they know the rules and consequences ahead of time. Personally I would love to know the reason behind him not showing to take the test.

Every 3 days....Really?
This is crazy. Do all players have to be tested so often? If so, the company that sells the drug test have a booming business. Most drugs stay in the body for 4-5 days minimum. I would think that one test a week would be enough. For Collins to be tested 10 times a month, there has to be some suspicion of heavy drug use.

Relying on Collins has become a big liability. You can't count on him.

I'd move on after the season and find his replacement
He was one of the best RTs in the league and he was improving every game. He got paid and he became injury prone, lazy and unreliable. He is another example of a Dallas player that gets a big contract and makes no effort to play up his level of pay.

He failed something. I thought weed was pretty much allowed now. Or did they lighten the punishment.

It appears he was already in the program and I think the weed stuff counts for those but everyone else is exempt...I am probably forgetting the new rule wrong but I think that is what it is.

When you put it that way, he should be suspended. How did he miss seven appointments to be tested? Is a Collins that irresponsible?
Pure assumption on my part but hell he missed 6 with no repercussions...he probably thought what was one more lol......

I'm curious to why he's being tested so much.

This feels like something that could be reduced to 2-3 games IMO, and being hopeful there isn't something really crazy they were testing him for. If it's just missing 7 out of 180 tests for weed, and if he has an legit excuse for those misses then it should just be a fine.

There is clearly more to this then we have been told.

BUT we are also talking the NFL where consistency is illegal and do as we say not do is the law.

Lost in this is the leadership of Dak. Dak is supposed to be the leader of the team and he is supposedly good friends with Dak.

Dak most likely knew about the drug use and failed tests and missed tests. Yet, here we are with Collins suspended. A real leader would have chewed Collins out and told him to get his act together and make football a priority over drugs.

Collins failed the team as a player and teammate and Dak failed as a leader of men.

Ask your self what Staubach would have done in this situation. I doubt Romo or Aikman would have did anything different than Dak.

One time in practice after the OL failed to block resulting in a sack, Parcells chewed out Sims. Sims was incredulous and said it was not his fault. Parcells told him it was his fault because the OL did not fear him and that is why they are not blocking well for him.

Dak needs to stop being buddy buddy with Collins and lead Collins. Dak and the team need to ostracize Collins and not even associate on a social basis with him for the next 5 weeks. Do not welcome him back and make an example of him. The team leaders are responsible for culture. Not the GM.
Lol now we’re blaming Dak for another players drug use. Jesus.

That would mean Gregory is for sure still in the program.

That is what leadership is. If I were QB and my friend was the OT, I would tell that OT to get off the drugs. You are putting my health on the field at risk with your selfish behavior.

Collins does not respect Dak or he would not have done what he has been doing for years with drugs.

Collins has been a major disappointment, the year before he was grossly out of shape then the hip injury.

This type stuff, we definitely need to start drafting more Tackles because either by injury or this type stuff it is going to continue to cost us on the field.
