Dallas is not a better team right now than anybody in our division. We have lost a WR, OT on offense which will directly affect our running game. On D we have D Law, Gregory gone this weekend, Parsons we are waiting on while LVE and #9 are after thoughts at this point, and we need a CB2. How on earth are we better? We have had two lousy weeks full of injuries, can't just turn on a switch for our subs

We could lose a few more guys and still be better than those teams. Obviously depending on who it is that we lose.

Well for one. We are the only ones that played anyone worth anything. We will really know Sunday how to gauge because we are playing the Chargers. As of now though. Philly has played the worst team in the NFL and won. The giants are 0-2 against Denver and Washington. And Washington is 1-1. With a win this weekend and the Niners bringing the Philly parade back to earth We will sit atop the NFC east

I don't get why everyone is writing off the Eagles. Because of Hurts? That's a big mistake. The Eagles have the best offensive line in the division by far. They can pass and run block- and when the mess up Hurts can run the football very effectively. They have speed at WR and RB, and 2 all pro caliber TEs who can both block really well in the run game. Their defense is strong too. The DL is probably 2nd best in the division and one of the strongest in the league. They have a couple of excellent CBs. The Eagles could win the division when its all over.

In the meantime, we have no reason to believe this defense is any better this year than last. They gave up over 30 points again last week despite getting 4 turnovers. Now they will be without their two best DEs, and without their best defensive player for 8 weeks or more. The Cowboys are going to struggle to beat everyone.

Its not because of Hurts. And I'm not writing them off. I just want to see them perform against a team that has a pulse.

Good posts about the Cowboys going on a run but they can beat the Chargers. We got a mini bye and as much as I love their quarterback, his weapons are limited. I am concerned about Bosa and Allen. Their secondary is a mess. We can win the game if Dak is who he is paid to be.

I don't agree on Herbert's weapons being limited. Keenan Allen is one of the best route runners in the NFL, and will be very difficult to handle. Mike Williams can play bully ball on 50/50 passes, and has a significant size advantage over the Cowboys corners not named Nahshon Wright (he has a significant bulk and strength advantage over Wright). Jared Cook remains a good receiving TE. Austin Ekeler is a very good receiving option out of the backfield. Unless the Cowboys can manufacture a pass rush of some kind, Herbert will pick this defense apart.

No doubt, but we are also much weaker going into Week 2, hence my whole point. Same sad story every year on our OL in regards to injuries/missed games. Seems we are always looking ahead, instead of dealing with what's in front. We had two major injuries, and one suspension in Week 1 (for an injured player last year) for players not named Tyron. Somebody has to enlighten me how these are good things that happened

Our division looks awful and after this week our schedule looks easy for awhile.

So let’s say we take an L this week. Seems likely considering all of the chaos currently surrounding our roster

Then we go on to play

Eagles

Panthers

Giants

3 in a row at home.

@ Patriots

@ Vikings

Broncos (so glad it’s at home)

Falcons

I think we could start the season 7-3 and most of the players who are out would be back by this time.

Then we play the Chiefs @ Chiefs. 7-4

I honestly dont know how you can predict wins against any of these teams with our defense. And who knows how many more guys we will lose by then. Dak is going to have to go for 40 every week and we still can lose.

This team has been reactive instead of proactive for years.

I see NYG starting 3-8 or so and Wash about the same…
No excuses not to win the division even if Philly is a bit of a surprise.

Nobody does that.

Special teams is a big waste of time and overrated by fans who hear coaches talk about it’s importance publicly but privately just want a group of players who don’t screw it up the offense or defense.

A big play on special teams at the NFL level is rare.

Make your kicks, punt it far, kick it out of bounds, and don’t fumble the ball.

Anything else positive is a huge bonus that you might see once a year.

Special teams is a big waste of time?

Did you watch last week's game? Special teams decided that game. The Cowboys were not good, and the Bucs were nearly flawless.

NFC East is not weak. The Giant's ,Washington and the Eagles will be in every game. At least most of them due to their defenses.

I surely hope it works out that way but if I had a dollar for every time I thought we had an easy stretch coming up in the past 20 years I'd buy Jerry.

this wasn't a post about Dak, it's a thread about/post about how much weaker we are right now than last week....
And you brought up Dallas record against the division last year. Can't do that without context, which is....... without Dak

Washington and Giants aren't even close to being better than Dallas right now

If WFT can get decent QB play they should have a decent season. Their biggest problem area besides potential bad QB play is a very average to bad O line. Teams with a good pass rush will eat them alive.

Sadly we don't appear to have a good d line.

Bottom line is time will tell.

I don’t think the NFC East will suck as bad as it did last season. All the teams look pretty competitive. I think it’s going to take at least 9 or 10 wins to win the division. No schedule is ever easy. Sam Darnold looked pretty good for the Panthers on opening day and I’m sure he’ll be licking his chops to face the Cowboys again. Lol Wins don’t come easy for the Cowboys regardless who they’re playing especially with the players they have out.
