I've seen plays like that in later seasons where he has one guy to beat and he seeks out the contact as opposed to trying to run past them. That's why I don't buy it when people put it on the o line.

Joe, you aren't contributing to the conversation, and are acting as a progress stopper here. You are the one repeating yourself without adding any data or fresh arguments.

Pollard is better and it's not just speed.

There is a great stat called YAC/Attempt. Tells you how many yards a RB got per carry--after contact.

Last season:
Player....Ranking in NFL...YAC/Attempt
Pollard...11th...2.5
Elliott...22nd...2.1
 
400 touches a season has taken the edge away from Zeke. He might be fine against a bad defense but as we have seen these first two weeks he is a great blocker picking up the blitz but he cant find the edge or even a crease. He needs big holes to run through. Its going to be interesting to see how he performs the next two games against two good defenses. I expect more of the same. I hope criticism gets to him and he starts running angry. He had one run in that Chargers game where he saw what pollard was doing and he took the hand off and turned on his jets and ran horizontal and there was nothing there and he cut up field legs churning pushing guys and got 4 yards. Those are the type of runs he has been running 3/4 speed and getting 0 yards.

Go and look at the Jarwin missed block play. Whilst the TE is at fault Zeke should still have had either a) the pace to get on the outside or b) the vision and ability to cut back on the inside.

It's not so much 'being down' on Zeke, it's that fans can see the advantages and variety of Pollard.

Love to retain both of them, but Zeke just isnt worth the forthcoming years ....2022 - $18.2m (highest paid RB) and 2023 - $16.7 (3rd highest).

The devastating cap hits that zeke’s contract costs , his demeanor and attitude are the main reason for much of the fans dismay . He made a lot of mistakes last season with the fumbles and drops and the lack of speed . This season he is slow and expensive on a team hungry to win and improve . He is probably the most expensive and underachieving RB in the league . Not a good.

Now go back and watch how many of Zeke's first contact came from defensive linemen and line backers .. If people don't get that one guy is running primarily inside while the other guy is primarily outside then this stupid argument will never get anywhere. If they cannot recognize that the guy who gets the lion share of the carries when the defense is fresh and targeting him while the other guy gets most of his carries in relief and the defense is starting to get gassed. Both guys are doing what they are asked to do. Zeke is running it inside where Pollard is not as effective and Pollard is running it outside where Zeke is not as effective. At least not until late in games. It's a good one two punch.. Why people want to make it into a "problem" is a sure indication that a lot of people need a hobby.

You know what? A lot of people talking about Zeke's bad contract are doing it in hindsight. Sure, if they didn't extend him he would have been gone after 2020. But know one knew that. Then you have people that say let him play out his contract and tag him twice. That's 7 years. That's the same as the contract he got. Dallas can release him after 2022. The only drawback is his 2022 cap hit. Other than that, it's no different than the 5 year plan with two tags. We're talking around 8 mil. Whoop de do! It's not nearly as bad as people think it is, and you have a content RB.

How do you prove a negative? I am contributing to the conversation by saying some of the things being said here never happened.

I need to see more, not convinced Pollard is a better RB, yep...a faster one.

I actually think he is about 20lbs heavier than when he was drafted and he can't make that quick cut like he used to. Just looked him up and he was 225 at the combine and this July he claimed he was 218. I don't believe that!

I guess you can't prove a negative. How about a different approach? Can you provide a recent example of Zeke being as fast now as he was in 2016? Maybe he hasn't lost a step and he's just been holding it back for some unknown reason, but he hasn't demonstrated that speed on the field in quite some time. He had two opportunities this past Sunday to open it up and he got up to 20.23 MPH. His 19 yard run with the gaping hole through the line didn't make the fastest ball carrier list so that means it had to be less than 20 MPH since that was the speed of the 20th fastest ball carrier from week 2 (only the top 20 are published).

Down on him right now? Fans have been down on him for the past two or three seasons. The reason being he can’t elude anyone and break long runs. Most feel he’s lacking speed, burst and elusiveness.

I goofed in putting it the way I did, my bad. I talked about Zekes lack of speed, so that was me backing that claim up. I know....huh?
