Do you not seriously see the problem with coaching here ? The stupid call to block the punt that gave the ball back to the chargers who had 4th and 20 ? Wasting all the time at the end so they have to rely on a kicker who missed an extra point and chip shot FG’s the week before to kick a 56 yarder ? We were lucky to win because the Chargers beat themselves with penalties that had 2 DT’s called back, and luckily our kicker made the 56 yarder. Stupid coaching only gets you wins against stupider teams. Just looking at the Chargers game as a win is Fool’s Gold. Some of fans are looking at the whole game picture and pointing out there were problems - basic problems - that were just stupid and will easily lose us games in the future.
I am with you. I enjoyed the win. I take it. but our game management has been awful through the first two games. there is taking risks and there is being stupid and we have been stupid

The whole "we got the win" attitude is so short sighted. This is the stuff that keeps good teams from going very far and makes average teams a joke. And it has been the norm since McCarthy arrived. Throw out all the analytic BS and just focus on doing what gives you the best chance to win.

This season is this season, it has no carryover from the past. And we played two very good teams and almost beat them both. On the road.

Complaining about a poor decision a week later (even though we won) is useless. If it happens in the same nature, feel free to complain, but this is common across the league in the NFL.

exactly let it go people! last year was one off MM knew we had no chance of beating teams without doing crazy chit! i doubt he does this and he explained the clock issues, i say homefield "clockgate" happened..should be investigated like the phantom communications going out..OOOPS :)

dont act like teams dont try and cheat some we have seen it in NE more then once..

MM is not, even be given half chance with no offseason, no ps games, virtual training , terrible FA crop, and historical amount of injuries to key player's..

the man deserves 3 full seasons to prove he can install group he can win with..not even sure i count 2020 so he should coach through 2022 at minimum 23 if the teem is on the brink of greatness.

are fans clueless , you cant change coaching staffs every 2-3 years it will never take too many moving pieces with players vs schemes and vision if the new staff..jeez can we purge the old group take some time and build something before we call MM awful..smh..

Wow, does that ever put things in perspective.....
I think I blocked it out. 3 perfectly mirrored seasons of pure stench.
wasnt just coaching those were the years jerry tried to run the drafts and do it all, nearly coached the team there..1997-2004 need to be erased from history..the last 10 years shows a lot of change there by our owner and the last 5 years IMHO hes not the GM in anyway outside of public perception of the title he so enjoys..

I agree. I was not happy about several things that transpired during the first two games which were avoidable. I was called out for not enjoying the win my comment was as yours that if we don't fix these cluster Fs then we are.going to lose more games because of it. It's aboutaking the right decisions at critical times to win close games which is most NFL games.

I think MM desrves a redo after last season for sure, BUT I would like to hear him say "I messed that up and it wont happen again" when he comments on the last games end clock mgmt. No need to set up some excuse just say its on me and it wont happen again...and I would be good.

Pee-wee level Clock management

Did not read the whole thread, but wasn't there something about the time clock in the stadium was shut off or not working and the clock on the field was blocked by a camera man so MM could not see the time?

We got the win down 5 starters on the road against a good team. Nothing short sighted about it. The roster also got better after he arrived.

I didn’t want him here in the first place. But, he did put a good Staff together.
He failed immediately by hiring Nolan as the DC and a Fassel has been a total failure as the special teams coach. Moore was retained as the OC by Jerry, so MM shouldn’t get credit for that hire.

Give me his issues, he knew how to run grown men/
Jimmy was a great talent evaluator and he knew how to put players in a position where they could make plays. He was a strict disciplinarian and he kept his players from getting too comfortable. I agree with you. What issues?

In pro football these guys only respond if they are afraid for their $$$$$, Jimmy let it be known he won't be BSing around playing silly *** games. You better deliver or you are gone, gotta respect that and they did.
