Morning, Pops and peeps. I found a huge yellow jacket nest hidden behind a porch light. There must have been 30 or more of those suckers on it. I hit it with a shot of wasp and hornet spray from about ten feet away. Only two or three dropped. (Mental note to self: buy Black Flag brand next time). The rest of them swarmed, darkening the sky. I was ducking and shooting spray in the air while running for the door. The swarm then flew out to the back yard, over the trees and hopefully they don't come back.

I've never seen so many in one nest before.

Have a great day, Y'all.

I see you aren't going to let Montanalo be the only one living dangerously. Another reason why I enjoy the great indoors.

Morning Pops and it looks like Colo or as some of us refer to him, "Bear Chow", is getting the first snowfall of the year and the people I know that live in the West are always excited about that. So, here's to a happy day for Bear Chow.

Yesterday was one for the ages in college ball with so many games down to the wire and the two early games, AR-MS and OU-UT providing over 100 points in each game and the PS-IA and AL-A&M games really delivering. That's why I prefer college over pro and the constant noise levels from Iowa and A&M were impressive. Glad to see some people so desperate for a win get that yesterday and I have been an Iowa fan since the first time I saw what they do at every home night game with the kids next door in the hospital.

30? I've never seen a yellow jacket nest that small. Usually when I see the ones that are above ground, there are at least 100...but you ain't experienced a swarm until you've pissed off a white faced hornets nest! And those things don't die when they sting, so they just keep on stinging.

Good morning Pops and greetings from Bear Claw.

I am basking in my Aggies glorious victory over Alabama. To quote Lady Gaga, "I'm on the edge of glory".

Now about the snow - we're ready! We winterized the sprinkler system last week, attached the snow plow to the UTV and shifted our wine purchases from predominately whites to reds. In all fairness, we are not really expecting much, but it's the thought that counts.

Whose ready for today's game?!!

I was unaware that it was socially awkward to drink white wine in Winter. I'm such a low life.

It was one of the best college football days ever. Almost every big game came down to the wire. What I’m enjoying about this season in CFB is watching some different teams rise. One thing I don’t like about CFB is the “haves” and “have nots” that are seemingly built into the system. If a school is considered a “blue blood”, there are built in advantages.

But the fans, the bands, the history of rivalries, etc make the college football experience completely unique.

Expand the playoffs and you'll see even more good games as prospects will have a chance to win a championship at a school that's not ALA, OHST, CLEM, or LSU. Recruits will go everywhere instead of piling up to sit on the bench at ALA.

You can keep the hornets! I'd be calling in an exterminator at that point.

Happy victory Monday, y'all! I would hate to be a Giants fan today or any other day to be honest. Their players didn't bother to walk anywhere, they waited for the cart. That cart should have waited until at least three players were on it per trip to the locker room. I also wonder if JJ can charge them frequent carting miles. The ones left over wanted to fist fight instead of attempt to make a football move. Just a weird game with a happy ending.
