A harsh truth about Dak Prescott for some of you

It’s OK to say you were wrong. You were.

Another backhanded compliment.

You were totally wrong. Admit it.

I was right in the past and I’m wrong now. I did not think Dak had this level of football in him because he had never shown it.

Now performing against awful teams and disappearing for long stretches against good teams was always Dak. A game manager. He’s been more then that from the get go.

You’ve never seen Dak put this team on his shoulders with success like he did against Tampa so don’t act like I’m saying something controversial.

I think Dak is playing great. As good as anyone.

I also think if Aaron Rodgers inherited our current defense then they are a better team.

Dallas has the horses and acting like they don’t is an excuse for those who don’t really think the guy throwing the football is good enough.

No other NFC teams expectations change with our defense for the worse and a lot of them would be improved. They sure as heck don’t change with our offensive supporting cast either for other teams.

Oh and McCarthy has won a Super Bowl with Rodgers. It’s really not an excuse if you believe in Dak. No other team would completely change their Super Bowl expectations with McCarthy.

Well now your blurring the lines....are you asking people if they believe in Dak? So wanting the defense to stop giving up 20+ yard plays at a high rate means your really not secure that Dak can overcome it? Again sometimes when someone says "I want the defense to stop giving up multiple 20+ yard play a game" that is what they really mean.

KC’s defense was always trash. They just stopped scoring a ridiculous amount of points and now we get to see all of their imperfections.

If Dallas wants their defense to take another step then take a page out of KC’s playbook and score a lot of points to start games and keep scoring.

So. Using your Dak logic. Who is to blame for the lack of points? You just proved even the best (i still believe Mahomes is the best) QBs CANNOT OVERCOME BAD DEFENSES lol

No.. People will say they believe in Dak but on the other hand start making every excuse in the world why this team can’t win but the reality is we have a great football team and adding any other QB that is top of the NFC to this team wouldn’t change our Super Bowl expectation so having Dak shouldn’t make us less of a Super Bowl team.

It’s as optimal as it may ever get RIGHT NOW.

So you think it’s a coincidence that Chiefs aren’t scoring at will anymore and the defense now sucks too?

Dak is playing awesome. In the playoffs, he will need to continue this level of play AND the defense needs to improve if we're going to win big this year. What about this is controversial? Why are you twisting yourself into a pretzel over this?

No at all. What I am saying is you cant have it both ways. Mahomes is elite is he not? Why isnt he able to overcome their bad defense anymore? Thats all I am saying. Do i think we have a good defense capable of winning a SB? Yes I do especially with the reinforcements coming and the gelling that still has to happen over the course of the season. However if the defense allows 200 yards rushing to CJ Anderson come playoff time again, that isnt on Dak. lol

We can win the SB this season but I think 3 or 4 teams have a better chance. Dak is certainly good enough….our O-line and defense may be short of championship caliber.

But when you get to the big game, it’s all about performing in the moment. Dak’s legacy will be built by how well he does in big playoff games.

Funny how Cooper Kupp is on currently pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single season yardage record, both being thrown to by Stafford, and people still have the audacity to think Stafford is a bad QB.

Wow, didn't know that. Over 17 games versus 16 for Johnson I'm sure but had no idea he was even in the neighborhood.

I hate these kind of debates because the person on the other side of it is playing the field. 1 out of 32 teams wins the SB lol.
Thank you.. The Cowboys are competitive this year. They're not the '92-'95 team that's head and shoulders above all but on team in the league. They're a team in the mix.

The Cowboys could make it to the SB. The Cardinals could make it. The Rams could make it. The Bucs could make it. The Packers or Saints could make it with a well-timed upset.
The Cowboys could win the SB. The Bills could win it. The Ravens could win it. The Bengals, Titans or Chargers could get more consistent, get there and win it.

None of these outcomes would be particularly surprising. The Cowboys have a chance to win it all, but it's not more than 20% or so unless they start showing us something more, e.g. by dominating good teams.

I had my doubts about whether or not he could be consistent. He always showed flashes of brilliance, so I knew the tools were there. Last year he started putting it all together, and this year he's lights out. I'd put him in the top 5.

A simple ‘I was wrong’ covers it. Nothing else.

No. You’re saying something dumb, again.

Man up, admit you were wrong, and move on. No qualifiers, no revisionist history, and no bull****.

You were wrong.

You were wrong the whole time, Dak has always been good, he wasn't elite but he was good and improving, you acted like he should've been a finished product after a couple years, now that Dak is hitting his stride, you're saying you were wrong, no your evaluation sucked.

Exactly we are in the top level of teams who all have more strengths than weakness....but we all have weakness because the cap era

There is a marked difference from other years, especially the turnovers gettin got by the defense

The upcoming Cardinals game and future playoff performances will be the true gauge of improvement and the reasons can be dissected at that point.......Tampa Bays playoff team looked way better than it showed through the first part of last season.....peak at the end and ride it through and hopefully we can find other things to argue about after the Boys lift the Lombardi

I'm just enjoying good, enjoyable, winning football being played by our team this year instead of losing, miserable football that we are forced to watch for the year and already be talking about the Draft.
I hope this continues.

I also just had serious surgery and am enjoying some pretty good meds right now, so take that how you may.
Me too. Just really really enjoying the games. The bottom line is they're winning games that in the past they would lose. I don't think anyone can deny that.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Mahomes is great yes and a stretch of games doesn’t change that for me.

Just like when everyone said Brady was done and I was campaigning for Jerry to sign him.

I have my own personal opinions and don’t follow whatever the crowd is always saying unless of course I agree with the crowd.

For example: The entire NFL crowd outside of Dallas is envious of our football team but our own fans think we are overrated because of our defense and stupid things like not having a fat nose tackle or whatever.
