They say they don't want challenges because it disrupts the flow of the game and makes it take too long and blah blah blah but they have no issue with the refs having a 5 minute conference before announcing every penalty.
Didn’t talk much before saying incomplete in the catch fumble. Taking a look at it sure looked like a catch a turn up field to me..

Yeah, no.

You’re talking as if all 32 teams could equally be screwed like this.

Not so. The Dallas Cowboys are #1 in the NFL in penalty yards against. We’ve lost 2 games this year that were a direct result of GARBAGE calls. Our QB has 2 rushing TDs on QB sneaks and wasn’t given credit for either of them. We’ve lost our last 2 season openers thanks to HORRIFIC calls that went against us late.

The other 31 teams don’t have to deal with anywhere close to this level of pure garbage.
Yep

Go to every single fan forum and they think THEIR TEAM is the one getting hosed.

The refs were a joke this past week because they were calling a lot of ticky-tack stuff.

Although they called about the same number of penalties on both teams, Dallas just happened (no , not on purpose) to get the worse end of it due to the penalties that were called and the timing of it.
It sucked for us.

Could have 100% just as easily been the other way around.

No, it really couldn’t have.

There’s no universe in which a Cowboys WR gets THAT flag to decide the game for us on a 3rd and 18 in overtime.

Michael Gallup got called for the weakest OPI you’ll EVER see..... to screw us out of a win last season.

Chris Godwin got away with the most blatant OPI you’ll EVER see...... to screw us out of a win this season.

Those weren’t accidental or random. The refs made those calls with the clear intention of screwing us over. Each of those plays single-handedly swung the win probability DRAMATICALLY against us, and they were TERRIBLE, OBVIOUS calls that any Pop Warner ref could’ve made.

When have we EVER gotten a horse**** call late in a game like that which directly led to a win?

There was a few other flags that killed our momentum when it looked like we were mounting a drive or momentum changing catch fumble they called a incomplete pass. Didn’t that happen on the raider side of the field.

LOL! That’s cute. You must be referring to the call that happened with around 8 minutes left and with Detroit leading.

Act like that’s the same thing as a game-deciding BULL**** call in the final seconds, one that swings the win % by like 50% by itself, if it makes you feel better.

Several bad calls went against us in that Detroit game as well, and there were articles pointing them out because the league admitted as such.

Examples: Reggie Bush’s TD run should’ve been wiped out by a hold... we should’ve gotten a call on 3rd down late but we didn’t, so we had to convert on 4th down late to eventually score the game-winning TD.

Great example though! That 1 call we got with 8 minutes left was totally the same as when Chris Godwin blatantly shoved Jourdan Lewis with 2 hands and the refs pretended they didn’t see it, and which led DIRECTLY to a Cowboys loss!!!

It's OK to sway everything toward your personal agenda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am okay adding penalties to the replay but not the way they did the pass interference replays a couple of years ago. It has to be a legitimate review of the play and if there is a penalty on the video then call it. If not then overturn it. But penalties are so subjective in most cases.

The answer is to stop calling penalties unless it is egregious. PI especially, since the yardage is so significant needs to be blatant. That PI call against Brown in overtime was nonsense. The ball was underthrown, Brown was underneath and there was no chance the receiver could get back to the ball. What is the defender supposed to do? run out of the way of the receiver so he has a chance to catch the ball? What kind of a game would it be if that is the rule? What is worse is they don't call these penalties consistently. The PI rule does not differentiate between the offensive and defensive players. Neither player is supposed to impede the other player. But they rarely call OPI when the receiver interferes with the defender. You see pushing off all the time now.

The refs should be told unless a penalty is flagrant AND material keep the flag in your pocket. This would help with the consistency and the flow of the games. 28 accepted flags for 276 yards in 1 game, even an overtime game, is ridiculous. Hochuli and his crew should get a reprimand from the league. And they should never ben allowed to ref a playoff game.

That’s all good and well, but if the situation were reversed, there’s no way we get that call.

I’m not confident we’d get that call in the 1st quarter. In overtime with the game on the line? Zero chance.

It's just a way to control a game for control of money! First off NFL penalties are for egregious acts/penalties. Now think about this a coach could challenge a catch, a fumble a yardage mark, etc because a ref screwed up but they can't challenge a flag that the ref screwed up on. Why is that? It's so they could control the outcome of games for their gambling buddies. It has been this way forever. They let you think that they've given you options to get a play corrected but they'll never ever let you challenge penalties for a reason.
The problem with these conspiracies is they aren’t logical
If the manipulate games to make money then the cowboys would win every game since they generate more revenue for the league than any team

The Cowboys still generate that revenue whether they win or lose. January 28, 1996 was a long, long time ago. The NFL can put the screws to the Cowboys and still make money. While I'm not 100 percent on board with conspiracy theories Thursday's game at least makes me think.

The only game that wasn't a blowout was the night game, and the Saints O was so pathetic there was no way to keep them in the game.

How much ya wanna bet the Saints’ offense plays their “best game of the year” on Thursday night?

Disrupts the game? How about the refs throwing 900 flags every game? How about the 2 hours of commercials? Sometimes in the middle of a drive for no other reason than they need to run a commercial. That would be like a 600 pound person drinking a diet coke with his two pizzas!

Not true..Dallas has the biggest fan base and more money is bet on Dallas every week than any other team. When Dallas covers Vegas books can lose big. We were 7-0 against the spread now 7-3. NFL is now in the gaming business..the truth is nobody knows. Let’s hope this isn’t happening

The Cowboys DO generate more revenue, which is why they want them around for big games. BUT…they’re greedy. Not only do they want the largest fanbase watching, but also the even larger segment watching to see them lose. If Dallas looks too dominant, some of the second group becomes less interested, and ratings go down.

Flags come out, outcome determined, Dallas loses a close, exciting game, and the rating$ are maximized! And no one can prove a thing! Perfect!

I posted the rule yesterday in another thread. Looking for the ball is not a requirement. Intentional contact is a requirement. If Brown had run into the receiver while playing the ball, it would have been a clean play. But he did not run into the receiver until the ball had already hit him in the back. Incidental contact vitiates PI. When you watch the replay Brown is not in contact with the receiver until the receiver puts his hands on Browns head and pulls his head into his chest. Brown had his hands up and out away from the receiver. This would be no different if Brown was trailing the receiver by 2 yards and an underthrown ball hit him in the back.

Call PI on that play was incorrect. It should have been a no call. The receivers antics should not come into play. Jerry Jones is right, the refs should not allow teams to make PI a designed play.

Correct...the worst part is those calls generally go both ways in a game in that one they lead to one team scoring multiple times...and not one was "Clear cut PI" thats a problem.
