The Cowboys need a LB who see plays develop and reacts quickly. They need guys who hit the hole as the RB gets there. If that is Parsons, then fine, play him at LB. It is definitely not LVE.
We have a guy on our team who is tailor made for that but he tore his ACL after making a hyper-athletic goal-saving play on a QB keeper. He will be available and back to 100% in time for training camp.

In the 2 games last year, Washington won BY RUNNING THE BALL DOWN DALLAS' THROAT!!!!!!! Dallas needs to stop Gibson and put the game into the hands of Heinicke - PERIOD!!!!! I need Parsons stopping the run before we worry about rushing the passer...

Parsons is the most efficient pass rusher in the league.

He ranks 8th in the NFL in sacks despite being 96th in attempts.

He should be rushing the QB routinely.

But we are so weak at LB without Parsons I understand the need to have him play there.

Unfortunately, that has been this teams history.....every time things look promising, there’s either injury’s or suspensions or other setbacks.......can’t wait to see what role the refs are gonna play this game.

They don’t merely want to Facilitate the game any longer, they want to be factors in it.
They want their TV time too. Do you remember Ed Hochuli? He'd spend 5 minutes explaining a penalty. Go figure his son go's on to screw us on Thanksgiving.

I like him at LB this week. Washington is going to try and run it down our throats. He is more valuable as a run defender from the LB spot vs a DE spot. On obvious passing downs, they will have him along with Dlaw and RG rushing the QB.

Yes, they played base 3-4. Lawrence Taylor was an OLB meant he was a nearly every down pass rusher. They did NOT use LT as an inside linebacker dropping into coverage... never ever.

McCarthy prefers base 3-4 and will probably hire someone like Dom Capers if Quinn doesn't pan out. Quinn prefers a 4-3 base cover 3 zone press with cover 1 robber mixed in, we saw that in Seattle and Atlanta.

Quinn knows what he has in Parsons and is willing to adapt. When he was teaching his scheme to the entire defense in August he had no idea he had the best defensive player in the league sitting on his team. I have no doubt next season, whoever is the defensive coordinator, will build and teach his scheme entirely around Parsons. Mainly with him being an OLB. Right now our biggest need on the team is probably MLB and he just so happens to be the best in the business at that spot as well. He will get edge rushes on Sunday. Quinn ain't an idiot, but our DE's are also both elite at their job as well. Parsons is so good he will make plays for us anywhere they line him up.

I think it's a smoke screen they want Parson at the second level tracking down Gibson if he does get past the front four. But make no mistake I think they are going to have them 3 playing pass rush games on Washington OL all game long getting it out of Heineke hands fast then rallying to tackle.

I am curious is know if these folks predicting where and when Parsons and other defensive players are going to play, were part of the coaches meetings this week. Sorry about the long sentence.
They've made it no secret that Parsons will be playing LBer primarily as long as Tank and Randy G are back. It's not really a prediction it's just repeating what we are being told at the coach's pressers. Having Gallimore and Hill back is an added bonus that will be needed since the WFT apparently intends to run the rock on us. I'm excited to see how that pans out.

It makes perfect sense to minimize rush opportunities for an elite pass rusher so two inferior players can get their full workload in.

This is just coaches out thinking themselves and I saw it coming a mile away.

Would you like to see him on DL full time?

For those who don't like Parsons as a moslty edge player, please check out this article:

https://www.dmagazine.com/sports/20...-that-micah-parsons-is-a-generational-talent/

Here is a snippet:

Why stop there? PFF has 20 years of pressure data, so I kept going. In the past 20 seasons, 275 rookies have clocked as many pass-rush snaps as Parsons has this season. Per PRP, again, he ranks … first. The next rookie seasons on that list from 2001-2021 were, in order, Aldon Smith, Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa, Carl Lawson, and Von Miller. Combined number of Pro Bowls so far: 13. There are only six players categorized as linebackers when we use the 20-year sample.

From what I have seen, Parsons was starting to do a pretty good job at LB. When the injuries started happening, they moved him back to DL. He is really good at rushing the passer. Hard for one man to contain him for very long. Dude is deceptively quick.

When someone like Greg Cossell states Parsons is the best Edge Rusher in the NFL right now I think that's where he belongs full-time. If not this season, certainly next

Don't be surprised to see D-law move inside and Parsons on the outside during big moments in the game. We have an amazing problem on our hands.

- i dunno how much Gregory will see immediate action with just coming back from 3-4 week absence.
but he should get at least bulk of the role at RDE over a Armstrong/Basham .

- Dlaw will no doubt get even more reps and snaps off his first week since Week one.

- With Wash. run game with RB Gibson, along with return of Randy/Dlaw, I would expect Parson more at middle LB vs run.
Halt their run game first ..and then we can package Parson around to get him pass rushing. whether that be spelling the DEs
or going up against RBs...

Going to be able to keep Gregory fresh by rotating him and Parsons at RDE on passing downs. DLaw was stout last week. I bet he plays 80%-90% of the snaps this week.

Not consistent so he won't be as good

My observations tell me Parsons is really good at anything they give him a chance to do. He is an LB. Conventional wisdom tells me because our starting DEs are back, Parsons will be returning to full-time LB service. Then there is what the coaches are saying which matches well with conventional wisdom is saying.

Last year has absolutely nothing to do with this year. Half the starters were out & Quinn wasn't even on board yet. Totally different squad.
