I can see Carroll being gone, and Wilson along with him. And then it’s a total rebuild. With no 1st round pick (at this point) to do it.
yeah, in tht scenario seattle is going to be a tough venue. they have had their run and perhaps time to rebuild. Wilson knows they need a lot to get there and no first round picks is tough...that's why he is looking to go to a team that's a QB away and perhaps Seattle to recoop some picks.....there was rumor Wilson would agree to go to NY. not sure why...they are a mess. but I can see him inwith Saints, Broncos and even Cleveland as a long shot.

There’s only 32 NFL teams. If you want to be a HC you don’t pass up these opportunities. They have a potential rookie franchise QB to build around. I find this strange unless there is something else going on.
My guess is that he's done his homework. He knows which teams are likely going to be hiring a new HC and sees better opportunities on the horizon. Or, it may have been as simple as "I'd rather stay where i am than go to Jax". He's been around long enough to know which opportunity is the best fit for him. I think he's waiting it out for a better deal.

For an extra $1M is it worth it to become a HC over DC in Dallas. Maybe like McClay he is happy doing what he is doing and living where he is living. Not everyone follows the highest dollar.

Exactly. Is every coordinator in this league a breathless head-coach-in-waiting? Job satisfaction & quality of life are huge...even in the NFL, I suspect. HC is a completely different job description - more mundane & administrative in some ways - which may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if one is having a really good time (and success) with Xs & Os right where they are.

No Wilson, no from me. They are a mess with that Adams trade. They essentially traded a draft for Roy Williams.

Yeah, they are a mess. A quick and complete fall from a team I was praising not long ago for seemingly being able to rebuild on the fly. That was obviously a mirage and not the case. And now, thanks to that reckless trade for Jamal Adams, they lack both draft capital and cap space to do it.

And everything I see from Wilson shows me a guy who wants out.

If I'm a prospective NFL coach, there's other jobs that will no doubt open up much more favorable than the train wreck that is Jacksonville.

Being a HC isn’t for everyone. The Falcons had some crummy years defensively while Quinn was there.

Nothing wrong with being a stellar DC in a great spot like Dallas. The Jaguars are a dumpster fire, even with Trevor Lawrence.

He's got it made here and he's coaching a rookie who will become the best linebacker to ever play the game. I don't think he's leaving.

Why become a head coach when you can make just as much working for the Pinnacle team of not just the NFL but in all of sports.
