Literally the polar OPPOSITE of garbage time stats

Exactly, the only knock on Romo is playoff success. But he also played in the Garrets offense which is legendary for its staleness and inability to adapt.

Dak didn't need to carry his jockstrap.... he did better than that. He TOOK Romo's job. Nuff said....

No, Jerry thought he could get by on Dak’s cheaper contract, surrounded by all this talent.

Jerry has made plenty of bone-headed moves you Dak-stans blame for Dak’s failures. Suddenly when it comes to the decision about starting Dak, because he’s more ‘hip’ with guts like Zeke, Jerry is suddenly a genius to you guys..

While Romo is clearly the better talented passer, I will give Dak his full 5th season before making a whole scale qb comparison. Maybe he can make some adjustments on the field in the playoffs (not likely but maybe) to bolster his resume.

Keep in mind, Dak is only 28 and Romo didn't win a playoff game until he was 30

If Romo would just would have had Dak’s leadership, he would have been unstoppable.

I think you are confusing personality with leadership. Dak knows how to be boys with guys his age. But you don’t make decisions based on that. A lot of guys on the Packers can’t stand AR.

Romo finally had a roster and Garrett out of the way and the Jones back-stabbed him period for this mediocrity.

I'm willing to bet you the little bit of money I have that Jerry regrets letting Romo be benched for Dak. That was a damn good team with a much better QB sitting on the bench. Jason Garrett was a crappy coach and made a crappy decision benching Romo for Dak. With aboslultey nothing to lose. If Romo gets hurt or plays badly, Dak is right there to take over. The decision made no sense and based on the lack of success that year it was the wrong one. Any real Cowboy fan who's actually watched both players play and thinks Dak is better then Romo was is kidding themselves. This shouldn't even be a debate. I had my issues with Romo, but he was a much better QB then Dak is. Would have been interesting to see what happened if Sean Peyton got Romo on the Saints instead of Drew Brees. Instead he played for Jason Garrett, saved his job multiple seasons in a row to be benched for a rookie and wasn't even allowed a competition to win his job back that he earned for a decade.

One of the most accurate posts I have read on here in a good while. Fair play.

2016 with a prime Zeke and this OL with Romo leading the way is the biggest what it for this Cowboys franchise, besides being one of the greatest examples of back-stabbing by an organization.

Heck, 2017 as well reflected it.. 2017 was the biggest joke of QB play we have witnessed with all this talent. Even Jerry to end the season, basically called it as a learning experience for this mediocre QB.

This Dak stretch of bad play is just like his pre-Amari 2018 stretch of bad play. The flaws are the same, but the surrounding talent is way better.

The biggest example you can see is how Romo could get the ball to Dez, a WR that could never get that much separation, based on speed and size. Dez was the original scape-goat for an inaccurate Dak, who needs to see his WRs running wide open, which often leads to late deliveries anyways.

Name me one good route runner the caliber of an Amari that Romo had? Can you imagine Romo throwing the ball to Amari Cooper?

Romo and Dak are about the same QB. Both are over-achieving Rudys. Both need the team to play pretty perfect to win big games. Both can pad stats to make them appear better on paper than they are.

Agreed. Romo was only getting better too. Would have loved to see him with a prime Zeke and that O line. Think the Cowboys really screwed up there. Can you imagine any good head coach making that decision? Would Belicheck, Andy Reid or Sean Peyton have made that decision? They would have laughed at the question.

And agreed, Dak was given an extra long rope because the got rid of Romo for him. So they couldn't give up him, had to get a return on their investment, problem is they made the wrong investment. Dak started to falter and the end of the 2016 season. The games against the Vikings and Giants looked mighty similar to games this season. 2017 in today's QB standards he was crap and has continued to have games like the last 7 for his whole career. Like I've said he's not terrible, he doesn't suck, but you can't make a 5 star meal with 3 star ingredients.

Romo was great with Dez, because he could put the ball where he knew Dez could catch it, wether he was open or not. Dak didn't and doesn't have that skillset and it's why Dez was gone soon after. And Romo in this offense would be a much better team and very fun to watch.

There's a video on YouTube about 15 mins long which shows all the incompletions from Prescott to Dez from 2017 onwards. It dispels any claims that it was solely on Dez.

Yep. Romo made things happen. Dak waits for things to happen.

oh isnt this a really cool thread all the romosexuals in one place misremembering his tenure. Whatever makes you all feel good romo was a turnover at a crucial time waiting to happen. Romo carrying the team BS is old as it gets and untrue. That said i see similarities between the 2 QBs they both are turning out to be choke artist. That fumble was huge yesterday

DAk is more of a winner than Romo was at his age....Romo's "Super Bowl" is him throwing to Dez on what we all think was a catch.......

One key difference is Romo often tried to do too much with too little around him although admittedly he made some boneheaded decisions regardless. Whilst Prescott hasn't always had a good defense like this season, he hasn't played on any bad teams and has largely always had a running game unlike Romo.

Dak can’t carry the jock strap of Romo..

Romo was actually carrying garbage at almost every position outside a skill position here and there are various times, as well as Jason Garrett as a PLAY CALLER while Dak has been dragging a talented team down..
We had 11 Pro bowlers in 2007, went 13-3 and got eliminated in the first game due to an interception he threw to seal the game against the Giants.

I was a huge Romo fan. I’m always a fan of our players, I don’t bash players of my favorite team, I think it’s stupid.

However, let’s not sit here and act like Romo walked on water. He had a plethora of talent, as well.

Pro Bowlers is meaningless, because a third is voted by the fans and there are no limits to how much a fan can vote. Whenever Dallas has a winning record, they have multiple pro bowlers, simply because of popularity. That’s why they are always the top sellers in merchandising, such as jerseys. Anybody that brings up pro-bowlers as some evidence of talent has no business talking about player personnel.

One of those pro bowlers was Andre Gurode..
