Enjoy it while it lasts. Dak is on pace to destroy those records in record pace.

Man. Pretty much my exact thoughts on your two posts and I’ve thought the same before. And I agree giving this team to Dak when Romo was healthy on the sideline was probably the biggest mistake this franchise has ever made. They had a primed team, a at the time top 5 QB and a backup for that QB. Was just a mind boggling decision and shows you how terrible our GM and coach truly were.
Even more baffling was they didn't even let Romo compete for it.. like seriously.

Not even put him in for a game and see?

The Cowboys keep trying to expand a skill set that doesn't exist. What was wrong with a strong running game with Dak taking his shots when the time was right.

It wasn't exciting enough for Jerry. It wasn't enough of a circus act. Jerry wants to amaze the crowds with a dynamic offense. What would really amaze a crowd would be a victory over a quality team.

Any poster who thinks Dak is on par or better than Romo should just be put on ignore. Not even the same level of quarterback. Romo you build around Dak you just point forward and hope he doesn't crash the bus

Giving the reigns to Dak and not letting Romo come back healthy is one of the biggest disgraces Jerry has ever done. Man literally carried the cowboys and gave his body to the game. The 8-8 seasons were all because of Romo 90% of the quarterbacks would barely win 4 or 5 games with those trash teams. Romo was the only reason Jason Garrett lasted so long in the nfl.

However we fans should be grateful we lucked into two great quarterbacks. Dak has his flaws however 20+ teams would probably love to have him.

I guess I'm in the minority. I like both Dak and Romo. Nothing Dak does makes me think less of Romo and nothing Romo did makes me think less of Dak. I feel like both fell into our laps and without that luck we'd probably have another version of ryan leaf at the helm. All of you football gurus claim to know what you're talking about but this goofy *** argument says otherwise.

I'm a huge Romo and Dak fan because....I like the Cowboys.

Dak is infinitely better than Tony was at the same point in their careers.
He is not infinitely better sir. That's just pure poppycock. Romo was always pushing the ball down the field. Prescott is risk averse by nature...not entirely a bad thing but sometimes you need a gunslinger to light a fire. Matt Stafford, for all his warts has been the best QB in the fourth quarter (10 TDS no INTs...123 passer rating).

It takes Prescott too damn long to get going vs. good teams with good quarterbacks and good defenses. The Denver game was absolutely hideous...5:26 to go in the game and he has barely over 100 yds, an INT and has engineered ZERO points. That was the game everybody dismissed as an aberration. It was actually a portent of things to come.

Yeah I honestly tried to give him a chance, after everyone said I was troll for getting on him.

Done, he is who I thought he was

Romo faced two Pro Bowl level (superbowl) quarterbacks twice a year in Manning and McNabb. The Giants in particular were pretty strong from 07 - 12 (winning two superbowls during that span). Philly with Andy Reid, that defense and Brian Westbrook was always tough.

Jason Garrett literally destroyed the Giants offense in less than a year.

Romo was carrying that joke of a play caller for years, even when teams like the Ravens were basically calling the offense out as predictable and simple.

That's nice. He gave Cowboys fans a lot of exciting moments - I'm not denying that. He also gave us a lot of dreadful moments. Ultimately, he won nothing of significance.

As we have for 5 years NOW. Somewhat struggling to keep it from being 6.

But for Dak it's a team game.

Romo himself lost all those.

Right? Just admit it....you'll feel better about your dishonest honesty.

Romo never won anything and he should be criticized for it.

Still doesn’t take away that he’s a way better QB than Dak.

Trent Dilfer, Flacco, Eli, and several others won titles that Romo is a lot better than.

When we play Peyton Manning and he is scoring every drive Tony Romo can play that same game anytime he steps on the field. Doesn’t mean we will win.
Romo before 2014 was not as good as Dak is now. 2014 it all clicked for him and his ability to read and process a defense was where he needed to be. Unfortunately by that time his body started to fail him. That was his 7th year in the league. Dak is in year 6.

He scored a TD. Against the same 3rd and 4th stringers who we are told suck because Dak didnt put up any points on them in his rookie year.

That's right. He drove down the field adeptly with ease.

It was good to see him play healthy.

I'm willing to bet you the little bit of money I have that Jerry regrets letting Romo be benched for Dak. That was a damn good team with a much better QB sitting on the bench. Jason Garrett was a crappy coach and made a crappy decision benching Romo for Dak. With aboslultey nothing to lose. If Romo gets hurt or plays badly, Dak is right there to take over. The decision made no sense and based on the lack of success that year it was the wrong one. Any real Cowboy fan who's actually watched both players play and thinks Dak is better then Romo was is kidding themselves. This shouldn't even be a debate. I had my issues with Romo, but he was a much better QB then Dak is. Would have been interesting to see what happened if Sean Peyton got Romo on the Saints instead of Drew Brees. Instead he played for Jason Garrett, saved his job multiple seasons in a row to be benched for a rookie and wasn't even allowed a competition to win his job back that he earned for a decade.

Its all hindsight. I think Garret was just riding the hot hand. Romo had one series that season, his last as a cowboy, and drove the team down the field for a TD with ease. I often wonder what would have happened in the playoffs if we gave him the ball.
