Regular season success is great, but postseason success is what really matters.

I’m happy that we achieved 12-5, but if we flop in the Wild Card then that nice record will be bittersweet.
Agree, this happiness could be short lived but I'll take it instead of how I felt after that AZ game. I think I know how the players felt because to me that was the worst loss of this season.

If I've learned anything in my 37 years on this planet, it is that I need to be completely present, appreciate the moment, because NOW is all we really have. "Now" will never happen again, so cherish it. Don't live in the past, or constantly worry about the future.

We played a good game today, so today I am happy. :)
Congratulations, it took me exactly twice that amount of time to learn that most valuable lesson. And I admit it, I do spend some of the present looking back at the time I wasted in the past overly concerned with the future.

IN other words, you are saying people respond to those players like you respond to anything Jerry does.....lol
When have I failed to give him credit when he gets it right or even if it goes south but wasn't his fault? I do not like him personally but I will give him credit for things he does right as the GM.

What do I want to be happy?

Well first off I gave you a like. That made me happy! It was good to see the team play last night and soundly beat the Eagles.

To make me even more happy?

Soundly thump a good team...in the playoffs.
OKAY! It's doesn;t have to be a thumpin'. JUST WIN BABY!

I enjoy Cowboys all season long. Spring and summers SUCK without my Cowboys! I might get deflated after a self-inflcite dloss...but I'm not unhappy for long...and despite some people's online personal life analysis:confused:...I'm generally a happy guy happy with life.

But THIS....this is what matters. This is why we work all season long. To get HERE...be considered among the best teams and play against them....and WIN.

This is what makes me MOST happy.

And that's what some people do here...even when they get insulted for it.

Reid makes a GREAT point. There is some hypocrisy going on.

I wish people would STOP deciding who is a fan and who isn't. Who is happy in their life or not, just because they disagree on some football stuff. It's ridiculous.

It doesn’t mean anything if we don’t start turning some of these seasons into super bowl appearances. Just winning a playoff game and potentially getting to Green Bay should not be the standard for this franchise.

If we can’t win it all with this team then when can we? I want at least a SB appearance. if we get eliminated along the road while playing good football so be it… if it’s the same inconsistency though I’ll be upset.
Agree but that remains to be seen. At least I feel more positive about their first playoff game and after the AZ game, I was not feeling that.

It is still suspect of inconsistencies as Griese pointed out. Of all the playoff teams, the Cowboys are the most unknown what we're going to get. Which team is showing up?

Yup, a win is always nice. I’ll always be happy after a win (when we’re in contention). If we are 0-16 and win the last game of a season then I obviously won’t be.

This year, I’ll only be happy if we make it to at least the NFCCG. We have enough pieces to make it there right now. Next year we likely regress (no repeat NFC East winners in like 15-20 years).

Any time we whip Phillies *** is a good thing,I'm loving it...go cowboys.

Fine, always good to own the worst division in recent football. not sure we should have such a low bar. Used to be something to be very proud of back in the day.

Let's win against some good teams in the playoffs. Let's raise our expectations.

If you play the Jets 16 times in a year, you will have best stats. Do it against KC, GB, TB and then you are there.

Their performances should be judged relative to the competition they played against. They executed against sub par opposition, and looked good doing it. A good tune up for the playoffs. But we shouldn't mistake today for what will happen in the playoffs.
Not only am I not doing that, more importantly, I do not think the team is doing that. McC and his staff came with an agenda to prepare this team for the playoffs and dedicate to the run game after 12 rushes the previous week.

I gathered from the broadcast last night that AZ game hit some of them harder than any game of the season. They can't completely erase that until they beat them but they have to prepare to do that.

Just think how we'd have been feeling if they had lost last night. Hang onto that thought and getting happy is a lot easier.

The Cowboys won the East and swept it with a point differential unmatched since the merger. That might not matter to some people but it does to me as that is stage 1 accomplished with some !!!!!!'s.

McC and his staff got the players to play with fire in their belly, to get their offensive swagger back and go into this first playoff game on an upswing and feeling good about their team.

From my point of view, @CouchCoach this is probably the most important game outcome

Did I say anything about being a fan?

And the NFC East is not the worst division in the NFL The NFCN will have 1 more loss as will the AFCS and the NFCE played the AFCW, the division with the best record in the AFC.

Colo, that was their goal and they were totally open about it. They said it didn't matter who PHL trotted out there.

I have had mixed views on McC but on this game, I could not agree more with him and his finger on the pulse of his team. This is a man that had a 15-1 team go 1 and done so he's going to check the "mood" of his team closely going into the playoffs and decide what they need and I believe they needed that more than we know.

Reporters are always asking players who they want to face in the playoffs and they usually get the same answer like Prescott gave Lisa Salter last night in the postgame. But some players told them earlier in the week they wanted a rematch with AZ and that told me something. That was a playoff wakeup call and they set the alarm last night.

I’m always happy after we win. I am most annoyed when we lose games that we should have won…Tampa, Arizona, LV. A better kicker and we have the number 1 seed.

Prescott set the passing TD record for the team, throws for 5 for his first time and he looked comfortable and sharp. His WR's were making the catches for him.

Elliott was a hammer tonight and went after that 1000 yard mark with tenacity.

Moore called a good game, had 29 rushes and they scored 51 and will lead the NFL in scoring.

And yet, the negative comments keep coming about these 3 specifically when they took care of business and swept the East for the first time in 26 years with a ridiculous point differential.

Have you conditioned yourself to just not be happy with them no matter what they do?

They were not in control of who PHL put out there against them tonight, they were only in control of what they knew that had to accomplish to get some confidence back.

McC and his staff got the players to play with fire in their belly, to get their offensive swagger back and go into this first playoff game on an upswing and feeling good about their team.

Man, I swear, some of you would hammer them if they won it all with "well that's fine but what are they doing next year"?

I watched this game tonight with one goal in mind, get my belief back, get that mojo back that I feel they will win this first game whoever they play. I got that so I can't be negative about anything they did, they surprised me with being ready to play that game and it didn't matter who was on the field against them.

Note: This is my thread as a poster and has nothing to do with being a mod.

Grab happy when it presents itself and hanging 51 on Philly in Philly should make us all happy. Sweeping the East should make us all happy. You deserve to be happy, take it if only for a week.

I’m pumped that the playoffs have arrived and the Cowboys will play in them. Our happiness/excited meters are wired differently. Mine is WAY more heavily routed to rev the needle as postseason progresses and the team I cheer for still being in it and playing extremely well.

I’m happy the Cowboys could go to Philadelphia and beat up on second stringers who looked like they did not draw up any scheme for the game. But it moved my needle a fraction and then back to idle. Like winning or success in the preseason gets some people extra pumped…

Certainly respect that and I used to be the same way but I discovered I had missed opportunities to be happy waiting to be happy. I had set conditional terms to be happy.

I hope people do not misconstrue that as I am calling anyone out or their fanhood, believe as they will. But I saw the hammering was beginning on Dak, Zeke and Kellen, three people who gave their all in this "meaningless" game to others and was puzzled by it. Some =act as if the Cowboys chose to play PHL and asked them not to play their starters.

They can only control what they can control and they did not do that against AZ, they did much better in PHL and that made me happy.

Blitzen, as far as how far this team can advance in the playoffs, I am not anymore optimistic than I was about that but I am about that first game. And that is all that really matters to me at this point.

Play consistently and win playoff games.

Hard to get excited about dominating Philly's backups. I'm more interested in whether this carries over to the next game. It'll be different w/o WR's running wide open due to guys off the street trying to cover. And against a true starting QB.

Why am I not happy? Because this game points directly toward being fool's gold. Playing 2nd stringers doesn't mean all that much. At least we dominated them as we should have!!!!!
