Wasn't Garrett 13-3 in 2016 with a rookie QB and rookie running back, MM is just another dummy in the long line of yes men Jerry head coaches, who figured that penalties were a problem after 18 games and Jerry pointed it out, MM sucks just no way around it, remember one of the lowest football IQ's and the last 2 seasons verify it, the only thing MM knows how to build is a platter fill double high from a buffet line.

Mike McCarthy has brought this scrutiny on himself by taking the job with the Cowboys as Jerry's lackey. Quinn runs the D, Moore runs the O and Mike sleep walks on the sideline. McCarthy appears to be totally disengaged from the football team.

I was optimistic about McCarthy coming to Dallas, but it's obvious he has not been put in a position of influence and looks to be nothing more than a mediot punching bag. He likely had no other options and is using this gig as his golden parachute into retirement. Another brilliant move by the Cowboys front office.

Don't kid yourselves, Payton is not coming Dallas, ever. He will be in high demand and he will take the job where he gets the most control over football ops. That does not exist in Dallas.

I’m good going into year 3 with Big Mike, having a 3rd year of drafts if they’re like the first 2 and overall team improvement like we saw last season.

More Garrett guys will be off the roster and other than Kellen Moore his coaching staff are his guys.

2 big contracts to make a decision about in Cooper and DLaw and we know exactly where Big Mike is thinking about his overall roster.

All this stuff about Mike being a sloppy HC is ridiculous. Sean Payton once making money in broadcasting might not even want to come back to coaching and if he did who’s to say Big Mike won’t have a great season next year anyways.

Other than Gallup, who’s a UFA anyways. All of our players are relatively healthy and won’t be coming back from crucial injury. Good start to training camp that way.

Even Dak. A season removed from his injuries and maybe we can get some of that original mobility he had back in his game which was sorely missed 2nd half of the season.

Would an autonomous Jimmy/Bill version of Payton serve as the best opportunity to win a trophy? Yes

Would this same version of McCarthy produce equal or similar results as Payton? No

But even would a watered down Jerry Yes Man Payton do a better than this fat clown show? Again, yes.

Would it result in a trophy? No

Regardless of past coaching results and matching resumes the current fraud fat laughing stock can't hold Payton's jock.

Yep, that's the whole point in the first place. Does Payton even take the job with the conditional Moore attachment?
If he did, then yes it's another Garrett/Wade, Moore/McCarthy set up for failure.

But if hired with the understanding that Payton runs his offense then yes, that is a substantial upgrade and justifies the hiring somewhat even if other meddling continues.

It ain't hard to figure out. If you're gonna hire an offensive minded HC, at the very least that HC should have authority to run his offense.

If not, then that HC should NOT take the job.

Period.

And my personal opinion is that Payton would do a better job period. Regardless of how similar the 2 coaches past coaching resumes are.
