Sorry but I think we should draft and develop promising LBs, rather than overpaying someone who has already seen his better days.
We need more than just 1 guy to enter the confines of actually becoming a contending team. It's time to rebuild for the future.

most of those Bluechip like Carr was at the time he was regarded as that are mirages, they aren't blue-chip at all we see it more times than not the overpaid feeding frenzy week one of FA most are as big failures as 1qst round qbs..

BTW Wagner not blue chip at all hes an aging player being cut and will want legacy deal..NE spent ton on FA and they were one and done in the payoffs..beluev me for entrainment, hope, and excitement, i hope for one every now and then here but its no guarantee at all. I mean they tried this with Bennett, Poe, aldon smith, quinn and some others most are just done..names don't win, paper champions in FA isnt something to brag about.

Lol. There's too many to list. Just in defensive tackles alone there were players like Suh, Atkins, Cox. Etc etc....,we've needed tackles for a decade and never signed a blue chipper like that tiny sample size

"We like our guys" has not worked 27 years and counting.

Though I typically look at the upside of things, this has held true for 27 years now. Time they change, but will they?

I think that term is overblown. It has really been more of a deflection when the media pushes them to talk about free agent targets.

I think the bigger issue is they think they can fill almost all needs through the draft, and they view free agency as just filling out the depth chart, or taking a shot on a once good player who is now cheap because of some health, legal or other issue. They have taken that approach as their way of dealing with the salary cap.

While it's best if a team can fill most needs through the draft, it's unrealistic to think they don't need to mix in key free agents as well. It doesn't require a massive spending spree, just the occasional key piece, but the Cowboys don't seem to grasp that.

So this is when we sign Anthony Hitchens and then Mickey tries to sell that Wagner is done and Hitchens is two years younger

They arent going to cut Amari Cooper and/or possibly Tank Lawrence and then go out and sign Wagner.

I’m a big fan of LBs but I’d rather draft 1 or 2. I know the team needs OL and DL but I have some must gets this year as RB and LB. Maybe you wait until the mid rounds on RB, but I prob draft Walker3 in the 1st if he’s there. So I could see an early LB and DE. You normally have to draft a LB pretty early. I guess Wagner could get us by for 1 year, he’s pretty old though.

Wagner's value these days is as a mentor to Parsons.

I would give Wagner the contract that the Joneses want to over pay Gregory with.

Whatever guaranteed money they planned for Gregory, Id give it to Wagner on a short term deal. 2-3 years 10 mil per/year guaranteed.

Wagner frees up Parsons to move around while also learning from one of the best LBs of this era. You can still get Cox on the field on 3rd downs with Parsons on the EDGE and Cox/Wagner at LB.

Unfortunately Stephen is running the show here, so it won't happen.

This possible signing would give the cowboy defense a considerable upgrade, the cowboys need to be aggressive, and act now, they need to be ready for free agency, the cowboys are very bad at negotiating, what the rams and broncos have done It's quite good, risky and aggressive movements, I don't see the cowboys even making a perfect draft they can face teams like the San Luis, Denver, Kansas, Cincinnati, Bills, if they don't go for at least a big name like Wagner, I see another lost season
