Dallas was 7-1 while he was out of the lineup, Cowboys are not that dependent on DLaw. I think it is a good player but Cowboys can overcome losing him

Yeah, that ain’t right.

How was the team 7-1 when they went 5-2 while he was in the lineup?

I've never thought D-Law was going anywhere with a $19M cap hit.

Next year, different story though as it shrinks to $11M. Both him and Zeke are going to have to ball out this year.

To say nothing of the fact that he declined a pay cut. So is the team capitulating with this guy yet again?
Yep, see.....I don't know if I like this or not.

I dont really want to lose him but he is seriously overpaid.

Is this a good personnel decision or is it more of the same....not admitting being wrong?

Agree 100%.
It is his attitude more than the contract. Injured often, but talks a big game.

Typical one year being healthy in a contract year, and finally produced. Nothing since then.
I have a tough time forgiving him (if true) for telling rookies not to listen to Garrett because Jerry is in charge.

That's not a good thing on several levels.

For sure.

I hope something can be worked out because if he leaves there will be a void and no, I don't think Chauncey Gholston can fill it, lol.
If that's the case we need to quit spending day two picks on guys that aren't capable of starting by year two.

so i'm awaiting to see what officially happens,..
either Cowboys will let the DLaw contract alone and let him play at his current amount, ...or Dlaw agrees to reconstruct instead being cut .. or he does gets cut.
Best coarse of action would be keep him 1 more yr, draft his replacement and give him a yr of development.

Deeper analysis needed than resorting to just the team record. That always leads to inaccurate conclusions.

D was much much better when DLaw played. He is grossly overpaid, but he does make quite a bit of difference.

I'm not saying Gallup is better than Cooper, but Hack seems to have a better rapport with Gallup.

So with him or without him Dallas won, I think 27 mill for him is not something Dallas can do. He is not a dominating factor. I think he is a quality player but I don't see him as a must. I do think Dallas has to keep him or Gregory, I think losing both and hoping to find a quality end rusher in the draft who can come in day 1 and perform, is asking too much. I think Gregory can be signed for half of what DLaw cost us right now.

Golston was a 3rd round pick. It's OK for 3rd round picks to take a bit. It's also OK for 3rd rounders to be quality rotational types.

If they are keeping Dlaw I'd imagine it's because they can't come to terms with Gregory.

My guess is they were hoping to shed Dlaws contract and retain Gregory for a discount.

It's obvious they wanted to part with Dlaw. You don't ask a player to take a pay cut unless you are ready to move on.

Gregory must want a big pay day. He's as good as gone if Dlaw stays. Dlaw is still owed 19 million guaranteed. So they will probably push it one more year and then cut. Gregory is probably looking for a larger guarantee than we are comfortable with.
They asked him to take a cut? I thought they asked him to restructure. Where did you here they asked him to take a pay cut?

I'm not trying to make it as if he is not a quality player but he is not a dominate force. It was not as if he missed games and Dallas lost because he was not in the lineup.

I'd cut tank, trade coop, let Gallup test market and if he decides to take a prove it deal then cool. I'd rather have chark.

He is not, no doubt. Way overpaid, I'd prolly be forced to cut him.

There is a good chance we won games due to him being in the lineup. Our O was atrocious the 2nd half.

If there's not a pay cut, I'm against this move. He's simply not close to what he's being paid.

I don't doubt that, but given his money I would much rather keep Gregory and be able to make a move on Kearse. Frankly you can't keep everyone. I don't want to release DLaw or Cooper as far as that goes but the saving on the cap in my view frees up money to be able to get others currently on the team and FA signed.

Cooper is gone. He won't take a pay cut, andwe have too many mouths to feed to give him 20M per year.
